As a side note: @3:41, diversion tunnel is shown at full capacity. Diameter of tunnel is 40' to give you an idea of the cubic feet of water flowing. Crazy amount of water! Sad that it never got built! Typical CA politics & pot smoking tree huggers.

California sure screws up by not building the auburn dam years ago. Self serving naturalists once again got in the way of something that would have benefited millions while not damaging land that was useful for much. Just a steep brush covered canyon that is nothing but a major fire threat now.

I lived in Granite Bay on Folsom Lake at the time and it was pretty amazing. It sure resulted in some very cautious boating that spring in Folsom Lake because of all the debris.
