Thanks for sharing this. What size would you use for necklines?
Why is flap option B smaller than option A. You don't explain this in the video at 6.32 minutes.
When you sew pattern piece 2 at step 4 through to 9 (adding the elastic) then add it on top of pattern piece 3 at 2.48 minutes into the video, pattern piece 2 on the top is about 1/4 inch longer. I don't know how thier's fits all correct. So I had to trim it to match the number 3. I have added woven interfacing to all my pieces because it will be floppy otherwise. The instructions and video are not the best but managed to make this with both.
Thank you
I like to store by color.❤
amazing thanks
Best video i've seen on narrow hemming sheer fabric... thank you!
Thank you so much. I have a question if I’m putting a square lace trim on the bottom of shorts do i sew the lace on first then sew side seams to catch the raw edge or do I sew after side seams folding under in the sewn seam
This is wonderful. Thank you so much.
This was really helpful, thanm you :)
I think we've exhausted the comic book board method.
My fabric is folded vertically and stored in drawers. Same with my threads, stored in drawers. Keeps everything dust free. 😊
Pattern
Are you using a twin needle for that ?
Storing fabric by type is best for me but I'm a garment sewer. Your storage room is similar to the size of mine. Try to have one area where you store your office stuff and try and put it all in one box. Put all books and magazines in one cubby, remove the corkboard, and only have your magazine rack for your ideas. Well, those are my suggestions.
What a great idea - thanks very much for sharing! I would also love to know where you got those amazing wooden hangers sized for the 18" doll clothes?
Nicely done!
Brilliant idea!
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I am a beginner sewist and I need to make buttonholes for my first blouse. I have made buttonholes on scrap fabric, but couldn't work out how to get them in the correct place on the garment, according to the pattern guide. The instruction book of my machine didn't offer any clues, either. Your tutorial has saved the day, many thanks.
Thank you for the tour. I’d want to play with the dolls all day, rearranging them, changing…lol. I think the black with the glitter, but set to wear with a matching roller blading outfit. Something special like you might see for a competition…
Surprise!!
How fun to see a little behind the scenes! Re:roller skates. You should definitely do an 80’s themed one for Courtney and friends.
And when are you franchising????🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
hi great video. how wil I know how long to make the baseball binding?
Can I use a bobbin that only has one hole?
The Pixie Faire studio is the most fun workplace ever! If I didn’t live halfway across the country, I’d come work for free just to be able to hang out there!😍😊
kzread.info/dash/bejne/h2Vst8p6c7C4fJc.htmlsi=w1GTeHWF2-aSfghv I love this idea for fabric storage. I use a combination of Lori's ideas and then storing larger pieces on vertical boards like you mentioned. I buy paper covered foam poster boards at the Dollar Tree and cut them in about 6-8 rectangles. I wrap fabric on them and secure with plastic coated paper clips. Works really well.
Such a great technique! Cute shoes!! ❤
The music is so loud, I can't focus on what you're saying.
Yes, I agree. Her face was very bright as well.
Olá ❤
Glad you made this video bc this my my question!
What a wonderful idea!! I can’t wait to see the seamstresses again!🥰 Even though I’m not traveling this summer, I can always use ideas for sewing projects I can do when I’m not at home.
I have a hand sewing kit that I bring with me that includes a pack of hand sewing needles, snips, hemostats, marking pen, pins (lately when traveling, I’ve been taking my magnetic pin holder so I don’t lose pins), snaps, elastic and white and black thread. Remember to add matching thread for your project. Velcro is too hard to sew by hand. I either wait till I get home or use snaps. I also have a travel iron, but do t use it often and only in the states. The last project I sewed in Europe was a Thimbles and Acorns dress and it didn’t get pressed until I got home. Just remember to finger press when you can and stitch seams down in the direction you will press them later.
This is something that I do frequently. One thing I learned in my last trip to Europe was that although the US will allow thread snips, other countries won’t. I lost a wonderful pair of Fiskers snips at the Charles de Galle airport. I also got stopped because they would see sewing supplies when my carry on was xrayed and hand search my bag. My suggestion is to put your sewing supplies into a zip top bag and pull it out of your carry on, just like your liquids so it’s easier to examine. Even when I didn’t have scissors, my hemostats raised a red flag. Preplan what you are taking. Cut it out and pre serge all areas that will need to be serged. You can also run gathering stitches on large items, like skirts as that’s hard to do in a car or in a flight. I like to have a couple different projects with me so if I get stuck or bored I can switch. Also, consider printing out directions. I usually read them off my phone, but I’ve been in the air with no connectivity and found out that the pattern I’ve downloaded is now in the cloud and I can’t access it. I’ve been known to do a theme when traveling. Last year when we traveled from the east coast to Oklahoma, I did boys dress shirts. I had cut out 5 or 6 to work on and then brought some more material to cut some more out.
Love all the ideas, those trims can get out of hand quickly. :)
This was a very informative video that showed how easy it is to embellish doll clothes.
I love the idea of using the basting tape to hold the trim in place.
I cut cardboard from cereal boxes etc. to wrap my trims around to help keep them organized then place them in a photo type box on their sides so it is easy to see the trims at a glance. Love that you use the same type of organization using the cardboard or card stock.
I love adding trims to outfits but never thought about using the lacy wider trim to cover over a pattern piece to create a different look. Great Idea!
Thank you for this video. I'm trying to find the books you recommend but don't know the author for Sewing for Beginners. Lots of books come up but none with that exact title or cover. Could you please link to current edition or provide author and publication date? Thank you!!!
This video taught me something I didn't know using tape to hold the placement of the trim! Great Idea, particularly when sewing curves!
I have never used basting tape and need to try it.
Love the use of the tape to insert the lace into the princess seam!
I really want to try this technique! My favorite AG dress is the Coral Island dress using this technique, it’s something to shoot for someday.
Love this trim embellishment and definitely will give it a try!
I like the princess seam look. It is neater. It showed me how to put it in where nothing shows but the trim.❤️😘💋
This is a beautiful trim method. It really adds to the garments.
The trims really make these outfits special.
Thank you!!
I love how this technique turns out. I will be using it in future, for sure.
