  Yeah, an Elpis GPU works just fine with Xenons without a modified bootloader

  It’s got a newer GPU for sure. The disc drive sounds tells me that it’s a Ben Q or Lite on drive, which are only in Xenons that have been serviced by Microsoft for RROD in 2008 or 2009. I actually have plenty of Xenons that don’t have issues

  That Code Is 0102 - Error in the "Digital Backbone" (CPU/GPU/RAM), this is usually caused by a cold solder joint between the GPU and the mainboard. There are two theories to fixing this one deals with the "X" clamps that hold down the chips. The other involves re-Heating the chips.

  The GPU chip needs to be replaced with either an X817791 "Y1" chip or an X819195 "Elpis" chip and the GPU/eDRAM thermal targets of 97°C/100°C need to be lowered by atleast 22°C

  @@hassanzadjali3581 Well, that console was in storage for like 8 years, acted up after that, then went into storage for a couple more months and still did the same weird thing after. Turning off background downloads is probably the fix

  @@seven7000_ Not anymore, an Elpis is a Xenon that has been modified by Microsoft with an Elpis GPU and modified boot loader. They are kind of rare but not as rare as an Opus. If you see a Xenon with a service date, then it'll be an Elpis

  @@MR-GAMER-DOGE The actual cause of 0102 is that the solder bumps which join the GPU silicon die to the substrate interposer crack due to low Tg underfill. There is no way to fix this and the only permanent fix is to replace the bad chip with a revised one manufactured from mid 2008 onward

  Does it overheat instantly even after no use? If so that's a resistor problem where the only fix is to replace/bridge the resistors

  @@CliffNark I have a Jasper 360 Phat Model, a white one in almost mint condition, it works well, never had a red ring, and it's almost silent! The front USB flap isn't even stuck, nor the memory card flaps, and I have used wired controllers on the front USB ports before, PHAT model 360's are the best. My slim's power brick emitted smoke so I went to cashies and got a phat model for a very good price, at $40 (Australian Dollars), well I had to pay anohter $40 to get 2 more wireless controllers.

  @@thenetheriteminecart384 Nice, it's very rare for Jaspers or really any 360 Phat with a post April 2008 GPU (which includes serviced phats) to red ring unless they're equipped with Sanyo power rail capacitors and will likely outlast most slim revisions

  @@CliffNark Mine has a service date/mfr date of somewhere in 2009, I think it's the 24th of October 2009 so I'm good, I will likely have a 360 that will last years and years to come, without red ringing and becoming an Ex-Box, haha see what I did there? On mine it says service date so I'm a little confused as I have confirmed it is a Jasper, but when I got it second hand it had a Falcon Power supply? I'm confused,, whatever, it's a Jasper that is post 2008 so I'm very unlikely to red ring if I get a replacement power brick for my 2 slims, since one didn't have one and the other one emitted smoke, but if I get 2 replacement power bricks, which 360 will red ring first and which will red ring last? Honestly the glossy slim I haven't even tested that could just have red ring. I know the red ring on the slim is more of a red dot but to avoid confusion I say red ring. And I have a working Jasper anyway, the marketplace may be closing down but atleast I already have 2 digital games and a lot of physical games, but I don't think i have a Kinect or the adapter for the Kinect to connect to the phat model, both of my Slims have a manufacture date in 2011, so not quite launch slims but pretty close, I predict that they have a corona motherboard, and i think the corona is more likely to red ring than the trinity since it's older, but feel free to correct me.
