I might be stoned for this, but I think that update made game actually more realistic. Did you guys ever tried to run half mile and then shooting on range? I did, and honestly, nope, even after short sprint, before you get your breathing under control, your real gun will swing. Sure, I would be happy if stamina lasts for a little longer, because I constantly feel like I could run few meters longer. But overall, I think game is pretty solid with current mechanics.

Bit late to the party on this one but here goes: I love that the devs went through with this and stuck with it despite all the whiny iPad-kids. I think the ICO could definitely use some tweaks here and there, but overall it's a commitment to delivering a very specific experience/vision that the devs and core playerbase have wanted for a while. And that's the way I think more devs need to behave with their games. Too many games are designed by a committee of children; opening for early access with like 30% of the game done and basically asking any shmuck who wanders into it to give their thoughts. Games are art, and art has vision, and intent, and purpose. Any dev building a game should have a very solid idea of the experience they want any given player to have, and if they see people not having the desired experience, then they should by all means work towards correcting that. So many modern shooter games just end up blending together because nobody is innovating. Everyone is just rehashing on the last big thing and copying the things that seem successful while taking as few risks as possible. The Squad devs had a vision and an idea of what they wanted players to experience; they saw that a lot of people were not having that experience so they corrected. And it pissed off a lot of immature, over-grown children who all think they're "cool and quirky" because they don't play Call of Duty, they play Squad; they're "different". But in reality all they wanted to do was play CoD, or Battlefield; they wanted to sprint around and use their caffeine and Adderall addiction fueled reaction times to out-shoot entire squads. And there's nothing wrong with that. CoD, and Battlefield, and other arcade shooters can be plenty of fun to play and have their own place; but a game like Squad was always meant to deliver a specific experience; an experience that these people never cared about because all they care about is KD. All they care about is hitting sick clips for their twitch stream that their two friends watch, and being "better" than others at the game, and being hyper-competitive. These people do not appreciate games for the art that they are, they don't care about a developer's vision, they just care about using games to inflate their own egos. And the ego that they have to say that they need to make the devs revert these changes makes me genuinely angry. It's not their game; it's not my game; it's not your game; it's the devs game. It is their canvas to paint whatever vision they so desire onto it, and they have no right to tell them that their vision is wrong. If they don't like their vision, nobody is forcing them to like it, and if enough people are upset then maybe it will be proven to be a bad vision. But until then, they can do what all of us responsible, mature adults do and say "this game isn't for me" and go find something else to play. I guarantee you Squad isn't the only game they enjoy, so it's not like they've got nothing else to do. And the whole "I've played for 6 years and this is an insult" mentality is just childish. Just because you spent a bunch of time in a game does not mean the devs don't have a right to make changes when they feel their vision is not being represented. If you've played for 6 years, then hey, that's amazing value. You paid what, 50$? I'm pretty sure it used to be cheaper, but 50$ for a game that you played for 6 years is a pretty good deal. To complain about that is just pure entitlement. Apologies for the rant, I think your video is great, and I think that you absolutely deserve more exposure for this, given that I only now found this video. I think this whole fiasco with Squad, which seems to have blown over by now, is an example that more devs in the gaming industry need to learn from. There’s a few points that you seemed to have missed. The biggest, and most important, reason for why House isn’t bothering with anything beyond the three casinos is that he’s coming so from a position of weakness. If you gain enough of his trust, he fully admits that he’s operating on borrowed time. If it wasn’t for the Legion looming over them, the NCR would have come up with one bs excuse or another and have annexed the strip and stormed the Lucky 38. Either the NCR wins, and they dispose of him one way or another, or the Legion wins, and they dispose of him. He’s in a lose, lose scenario until he gets the Platinum Chip. As such, all of his resources and attention has been solely focused on recovering the Platinum Chip. He didn’t have time for anything else. If House wins, he’d likely treat the residents of New Vegas like employees, but clearly planned on reactivating advanced education institutions in order to create a new science industry and robotics manufacturing base to get people to the stars.

7 months later and very few servers have good SL's. It filtered out the good players that mattered. I haven't been on in 7 months and the only thing that changed is the fighting loop. You just spam at close range and keep your VERY limited stamina bar above half or even full when near enemies. The game didn't change, its still dictated by HAB placement and armor teamwork than infantry working together. Worse part, you can still lone wolf and play for super high kda because its easier to suppress an entire squad with accurate fire. High kda wasn't just running around and super soldiering, it was about picking a good optic, having good SA, and good positioning. There is very few points to running an optic now because the pip sucks and it depends way more on positioning.

I absolutely despise the players that try to go and do it Rambo style, I personally hate the ICO update. I just miss actually being able to aim. Now if someone’s crouched around a corner waiting for you, you will almost always lose no matter what. Idk I feel like they may have over done it with the update I think if they toned it back just a tiny bit it’d be better

As a former Squad player with hundreds of hours, I have tried to go back to squad but the gunplay is simply not good anymore. Its too slow, too punishing, and unfun (all of which are obviously opinions.) I'm loving Gray Zone Warfare because it has the same shooting style that Squad used to have while capturing the realistic gameplay elements and teamwork/coordination required to have a successful mission. I feel that the idle sway is too much, kick is too strong, ADS speeds are too slow, and the suppression is too much. I think the answer to changing the gameplay should've been to do one or two of these things, not all of them. They drastically changed the core gameplay overnight and in my experience I have never enjoyed Squad again, and neither have a lot of my friends I used to play this game with. I do not believe the ICO Update was really needed, and I intensely feel that it negatively impacted the game. Hats off to everyone able to play Squad still and have fun, you're stronger than I am

Well, it’s a simple matter of looking for the best ending for the Courier. Side with the NCR- You get a medal for everything you do. Side with the Legion- You get a coin for everything that you do. Independent Vegas- You get the hassle of trying to rule over a multitude of factions while worrying that Yes Man’s reprogramming will make him turn on you. Side with House- You get to live in luxury only a handful of people in the wastelands will ever experience while only having to perform a few tasks for House here and there, while it’s heavily implied that he’ll eventually share his active cryo tech with you and allow you to be either immortal or live for centuries. Not too hard of a choice to make if you’re looking out for yourself.

However I do believe that Mr. House is the kind of guy who only gives you what you buy type and frankly yes it’s kind of harsh in the world of Fallout but I don’t view as an evil move as for the NCR I still view them as hope for Humanity.

8:37 Man, that is just painful to look at. Its honestly exactly this that put me off from squad several times. I would play squad, have fun, end up in close quater combat every now and then. But it was stuff like me laying myself down ontop of a hill/building overlooking where enemies walk from their HAB over to the point, me shooting some guy crossing the road just for him to make a sudden 90 degree turn IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD and shoot me in the skull within a milisecond that made me take hiatus after hiatus after hiatus. Having a seizure after having a bullet go over your head or having an asthma attack after 3 steps of walking might not be realistic, but it sure as hell is more realistic than Chad Thunderglock marching down an open road slaughtering 9 people that had prepared an ambush for him as if he was Robocop.

Im using Anistasi Ultimate and cannot find any way that I can move HQ to a new location. There seems to be no option to do this, either va the flag or Petros.... Can you please give me a clue?

If u go in the command menu, at the bottom on one of the tabs there should be a move hq option. Petros will then become ur follower and u walk or drive to ur new location. Then talk to him again and he’ll have the option to place ur hq where he is currently standing

Here is a trick that I use: When I've used up all the HEAT rounds and only have frag rounds left and an enemy vehicle comes by and our Squad has no AT or ammo resupply, i'll purposely aim the frag round near the enemy vehicle and when it lands next to them, they usually get freaked out because they think a HEAT round landed right next to them and they will even sometimes retreat. Just don't hit the vehicle with the frag round because it will do no damage and they will know it was just a frag round.

the best way to see the enemy is to make sure you're hidden in cover and concealed yourself thus allowing you to take your time to look for muzzle flashes, check your map and hear their gun fire.

I think you are just crying, i love tactical shooters, i love to play coordinated with friends, but sometimes you just wanna have a good time by your own, and thats what i do, i go in the server and play by myself, with minimal communication and even that way i help team and most important, I HAVE FUN, thats the point of a video game. If you wanna have always a hardcore MiLsIM experience, go make a career on real military.

Sorry, but no. What devolved Squad is not the new players with a certain mindset. It's the whole "mentorship" and micromanaging of "squad members" that kills the game. Then you have the Arma-style LARPers flooding over, ruining the game with all their internet military experience they googled and looked up on youtube and claiming they got the "thousand-pixel stare." For the most part, it should really be called "Squad Leader," because at the end of the day, it's just them having the most fun and everyone is just tagging along. Overall, it already hit its apex, because they bent over for LARPers. Call of Duty, a team is more natural. Squad is ego driven.

Strongly advice against doing steady 180° sweeps while scanning an area. As the video mentions humans can pick up motion very well. if you want to scan a big area, hold your vision perfectly still and move your view very fast to the next area untill you covered everything with a bunch of still images of your sorrounding. On top of the human visual perception most game engines (and displays) will blur the image in one way or the other if you move your view, you get a cleaner and crisper frame if you hold still.

At the start but the answer is simple to me but maybe you'll bring this up in a few. The game got popular and this is the issue with games, if it's small it's dying but has a niche audience that like that specific game so it's a tight community of the nicest people ever, aka old Squad. I remember this being the literally least toxic game on earth back then and I was taken back by how absolutely friendly and teamwork orientated every single match was as I'd never seen something quite like it before. Then there's the other side of this coin, if a game gets popular it's no longer dying but it attracts two problems: 1. Big companies to buy the IP much like insurgency sandstorm and modern game purchase mechanics follow. 2. The issue this video talks about, the community. See when something is popular you'd like that amazing small community to get bigger right? But unfortunately that's not how humanity works. The common denominator person you encounter is unfortunately usually very dumb, it takes nothing but a walk outside to realise how many of these humans you encounter on a daily basis IRL too. So when something gets big it attracts these people sadly so sure the community is thriving but with dumb dumbs these that didn't come for the Squad experience but because, "Duurh KZreadr said this popular so I try gem becuz it haz gun so besically Call Of Dutu!" And there you go. Now they are the majority of players as there's more dumb people than not so they influence and grt to dictate what the game should be like as they are now unfortunately the main audience and not us, case in point the ICO aimed to fix the problem and I didn't mind the change what so ever as it suits the gameplay loop but look at that, 99% of people, probably the ones described, lost their crap over it and left the game. 🤦♂️ They are returning with the rework though because it's a little less punishing but still. So there's your answer, game got big and attracted more people, majority of humanity is well... You know... So the bigger the audience the more of those people among them as it amplifies rapidly in larger numbers and now we're here. Modern gaming is awesome,.we either see a nice community and game end or we see it blow up filled with micro transactions and/or idiots.

Another tip is to use the binoculars in the kits without an ACOG type site. Binoculars are the best optics in the game, other than the vehicle ones. You have a MASSIVE unrestricted field of view. You can genuinely spot alot more people than with a regular acog.

Haven't watched the video but btw, for anyone who plays on 1080p and similar resolutions, for some reason 100% Resolution Scale is not enough, so to help spot people in the distance better, turn it up to 105%. Whole different world after learning this trick, even on low settings.

Yeah let's just fuck over all the players that took the time to get good at the game so little Timmy sitting in building doesn't get killed by a good player! Did a bullet just fly 30ft over my head!? Guess we just darken the screen and make it blury for 30 secs and make your aim go all to shit. But it's just suppression, That fun right? 1 player killed 4 others?.. probably because he was hiding waiting for the other team the run past then killed them. Honestly, deserives the free kills. I've played this game for years and have never seen a single solo player win the game for his team. Running speed too fast!? Wtf. Yeah, spawning in a game late then running for 30 mins is way better. How dare that player wanna get to the fun faster. The ico update has taken skill completely out of the game and more importantly the fun!

8:37 Man, that is just painful to look at. Its honestly exactly this that put me off from squad several times. I would play squad, have fun, end up in close quater combat every now and then. But it was stuff like me laying myself down ontop of a hill/building overlooking where enemies walk from their HAB over to the point, me shooting some guy crossing the road just for him to make a sudden 90 degree turn IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD and shoot me in the skull within a milisecond that made me take hiatus after hiatus after hiatus. Having a seizure after having a bullet go over your head or having an asthma attack after 3 steps of walking might not be realistic, but it sure as hell is more realistic than Chad Thunderglock marching down an open road slaughtering 9 people that had prepared an ambush for him as if he was Robocop.
Im using Anistasi Ultimate and cannot find any way that I can move HQ to a new location. There seems to be no option to do this, either va the flag or Petros.... Can you please give me a clue?
If u go in the command menu, at the bottom on one of the tabs there should be a move hq option. Petros will then become ur follower and u walk or drive to ur new location. Then talk to him again and he’ll have the option to place ur hq where he is currently standing

Can you save games when playing Anistasi as a single player? Im unable to find any indication and after playing for 12 hours, it would be a shame to have to start all over again for my next session
yes u can. when u start the game and pick a name it should save. i had the same problem like you when i palyed antistasi community, but i switched to antistasi plus and it saves just fine

Here is a trick that I use: When I've used up all the HEAT rounds and only have frag rounds left and an enemy vehicle comes by and our Squad has no AT or ammo resupply, i'll purposely aim the frag round near the enemy vehicle and when it lands next to them, they usually get freaked out because they think a HEAT round landed right next to them and they will even sometimes retreat. Just don't hit the vehicle with the frag round because it will do no damage and they will know it was just a frag round.
the best way to see the enemy is to make sure you're hidden in cover and concealed yourself thus allowing you to take your time to look for muzzle flashes, check your map and hear their gun fire.

I think you are just crying, i love tactical shooters, i love to play coordinated with friends, but sometimes you just wanna have a good time by your own, and thats what i do, i go in the server and play by myself, with minimal communication and even that way i help team and most important, I HAVE FUN, thats the point of a video game. If you wanna have always a hardcore MiLsIM experience, go make a career on real military.
Sorry, but no. What devolved Squad is not the new players with a certain mindset. It's the whole "mentorship" and micromanaging of "squad members" that kills the game. Then you have the Arma-style LARPers flooding over, ruining the game with all their internet military experience they googled and looked up on youtube and claiming they got the "thousand-pixel stare." For the most part, it should really be called "Squad Leader," because at the end of the day, it's just them having the most fun and everyone is just tagging along. Overall, it already hit its apex, because they bent over for LARPers. Call of Duty, a team is more natural. Squad is ego driven.

Strongly advice against doing steady 180° sweeps while scanning an area. As the video mentions humans can pick up motion very well. if you want to scan a big area, hold your vision perfectly still and move your view very fast to the next area untill you covered everything with a bunch of still images of your sorrounding. On top of the human visual perception most game engines (and displays) will blur the image in one way or the other if you move your view, you get a cleaner and crisper frame if you hold still.

At the start but the answer is simple to me but maybe you'll bring this up in a few. The game got popular and this is the issue with games, if it's small it's dying but has a niche audience that like that specific game so it's a tight community of the nicest people ever, aka old Squad. I remember this being the literally least toxic game on earth back then and I was taken back by how absolutely friendly and teamwork orientated every single match was as I'd never seen something quite like it before. Then there's the other side of this coin, if a game gets popular it's no longer dying but it attracts two problems: 1. Big companies to buy the IP much like insurgency sandstorm and modern game purchase mechanics follow. 2. The issue this video talks about, the community. See when something is popular you'd like that amazing small community to get bigger right? But unfortunately that's not how humanity works. The common denominator person you encounter is unfortunately usually very dumb, it takes nothing but a walk outside to realise how many of these humans you encounter on a daily basis IRL too. So when something gets big it attracts these people sadly so sure the community is thriving but with dumb dumbs these that didn't come for the Squad experience but because, "Duurh KZreadr said this popular so I try gem becuz it haz gun so besically Call Of Dutu!" And there you go. Now they are the majority of players as there's more dumb people than not so they influence and grt to dictate what the game should be like as they are now unfortunately the main audience and not us, case in point the ICO aimed to fix the problem and I didn't mind the change what so ever as it suits the gameplay loop but look at that, 99% of people, probably the ones described, lost their crap over it and left the game. 🤦♂️ They are returning with the rework though because it's a little less punishing but still. So there's your answer, game got big and attracted more people, majority of humanity is well... You know... So the bigger the audience the more of those people among them as it amplifies rapidly in larger numbers and now we're here. Modern gaming is awesome,.we either see a nice community and game end or we see it blow up filled with micro transactions and/or idiots.
Another tip is to use the binoculars in the kits without an ACOG type site. Binoculars are the best optics in the game, other than the vehicle ones. You have a MASSIVE unrestricted field of view. You can genuinely spot alot more people than with a regular acog.
Haven't watched the video but btw, for anyone who plays on 1080p and similar resolutions, for some reason 100% Resolution Scale is not enough, so to help spot people in the distance better, turn it up to 105%. Whole different world after learning this trick, even on low settings.

This guys fucking crazy if he thinks the ico update saved the game! Yeah let's just fuck over all the players that took the time to get good at the game so little Timmy sitting in building doesn't get killed by a good player! Did a bullet just fly 30ft over my head!? Guess we just darken the screen and make it blury for 30 secs and make your aim go all to shit. But it's just suppression, That fun right? 1 player killed 4 others?.. probably because he was hiding waiting for the other team the run past then killed them. Honestly, deserives the free kills. I've played this game for years and have never seen a single solo player win the game for his team. Running speed too fast!? Wtf. Yeah, spawning in a game late then running for 30 mins is way better. How dare that player wanna get to the fun faster. The ico update has taken skill completely out of the game and more importantly the fun!
Your complaint about running 30 minutes is proving his point. You are not supposed to run 30 minutes. You are supposed to work together with your team to arrange transportation. You know, teamwork.
