This is the boom arm I'm using: www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0B4S8YN49/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It doesn't feel very sturdy though when using it with a bigger COB + Softbox, if I had to choose again I'd probably get an avenger boom arm for potentially heavier setups.

Hi Dano, talking about amaran 300c and amaran 200d... which light do you think will work the best to use an optical spot with in a studio were there's considerate amount of natural light entering?
@Dano-Media5 ай бұрын
Hi Rob! Aputure's output specs on their website show that the Amaran 300c is slightly brighter when there's no modifier attached, but the 200D is brighter when the provided reflector is used. I'm not sure why, but it could be because the light chips have different physical designs. In that case, there's no way to know which would be brighter with the spotlight SE unless you have both and try them yourself. I would have tested it but I have the 200x, not 200d.

Nice video, I'll see what else you got in a sec. I literally just traded my A7IV for an FX30 this weekend. LOL I already have two FX3's and I needed a C-Cam for my paid event videography. It's just gonna go on sticks and shoot tele photo so the APS-C sensor will help me get extra reach. The guy I traded with made me an offer I couldn't refuse, he traded me his FX30 plus two lenses, the infamous Tamron 35-150 and the Sigma 16mm 1.4 plus a cheap slider for my A7IV and my Tamron 50-400 which I only use for sports and that's rare these days. I don't shoot any photography any more and I hate having to know three different menus and button layouts, I say three because I also have the FX6. Now all my accessories are interchangeable between the FX3 and FX30, the output video matches better than the A7IV, and the biggest reason for me that you never mentioned was time code. The A7IV can't take timecode like the FX3 and FX30 can, you'd have to use one of your audio tracks on the A7IV if you want time code. For an event videographer, timecode is the holy grail time saver in post editing, trust me! Oh, here in hot a$$ West Texas, I had the A7IV over heat on me 2 times before when just shooting in regular 4K 24FPS while outside on a tripod in the freaking shade! I just can't trust that camera anymore and neither should you if your getting paid. And yes of course, I know about the high temperature setting, didn't make a difference though. Just out of curiosity, what are your thoughts now about the A7IV almost a year later? Keep up the great work dude.
@Dano-Media5 ай бұрын
That's a solid deal! Good trade. I don't know about the Texas heat, but I live in Toronto and it never overheated on me in ~27celsius. I shot for 1.5 hours in 4k without issues, LCD flipped out. Regardless, the majority of my work is indoor interviews, so in that case I care more about having full frame / APS-C flexibility. I don't mind using timecode through the 3.5mm jack, I get scratch audio through the tentacle sync so I don't have issues syncing through timecode or scratch. It's not ideal, but not a deal breaker. Also I do occasional photography work, so even given all the downsides, the a7IV is a better buy for me. But if I ever need a c-cam, it will definitely be an FX30.
