This channel has a mixture of videos about eye surgery, predominately cataract and retinal surgery. There are animation explainer videos about surgery, there are real surgical videos, and there will also be some examples of complications of surgery and how to deal this this. All videos are broken down into playlists so that you do not mix real surgery with animations. Hope you enjoy.

Hi. I have a silicone oil in my right eye. My eye doctor has no plan of removing it. Is that okay?
Do you not develop cataracts soon after this procedure? Thx.
You might. I had cataract surgery before this.
@@KrisD007 Okay, thank you. You're ahead of the game then, lol. I had a vitrectomy a couple weeks ago because of a vitreal hemorrhage, due to a torn retina. I do already notice a slight bit more headlight glare at night in that one eye already. I wear sunglasses outside now quite religeously, and eat more anti-oxidant rich foods. I'm trying to delay the cataract surgery for a more convenient time.
It Took 7 weeks for the bubble to dissappear.. My vision is not that clear but it's better than before
Remember that the bubble is like an internal bandage holding the retina in place. The sight is dependent on how badly the retina was damaged. All we can do is re-attach the retina and the retina has to do the rest. Good luck.
Ya know how when u have a scratch or a cut it itches as it heals? Imagine that on ur eyeball. Horrible
A cut on the eye usually heals and is pain free within 24 hours !

OD: PIGMENT WITH ADJ DOT HGE OVER FOVEA SMALL SUB FOVEAL SCAR, HOLE WITH FLOATING OPERCULUM 10 CLOCK,. OS: DISC NORMAL, MACULA ON Sir any treatment for this problem 😢
The fovea is the most sensitive part of the vision. If you have a scar under the fovea this can not be repaired unfortunately. A retinal tear / operculum in the peripheral retina does not need treatment usually if it is fully operculated with no subretinal fluid.
@@eyesurgeryltd9392 the future treatment will be curable of this problem?
Small bubles appeared in.my eyes after 10 days of pperation.what happened now.do i need to go back to my ophalmoligist?
How are you now
The bubble will slowly dissolve on its own, no need to do anything. You will need a check when all cleared to ensure the operation was a success.
Thank you for the bubble explanation.
Very interesting Vitreous review..! Question: Do you feel taking bromelain (acting as proteolytic enzyme to clear out damaged proteins) on empty stomach several times daily will help clear out floaters in vitreous after PVD..? Background: Super healthy 65 year old male, had what I call rapid PVD 6/15/22 left eye, noticed increased floaters (pepper and squiggly) and flashes. Went to retinal specialist, all good, no retinal issues. Was told my other eye most likely will go through PVD in next 1-2 years. Immediately after PVD I began taking bromelain on empty stomach several times daily, my left eye vision cleared up, very clear now. Always good diet, but past 10 years diet great, eating foods/supplements high in omega-3 EPA/DHA, carotenoids, bioflavonoids, lutein, zeaxanthin, rutin, astaxanthin, etc. Now, 16 months later my right appears to be going through what I call slower PVD process last couple months, full view blurry vision, squiggly floaters, no pepper floaters, no flashes. Do you feel maintaining excellent diet, and once again supplementing with bromelain several times daily on empty stomach will clear out damaged protein floaters and potentially lead to clear vision like what happened in my left eye..? I acknowledge any feedback will not be considered medical advice. I'm interested in your professional opinion only. Thank you, Bruce
Supplements do not clear floaters unfortunately!
I just had phacovitrectomy 10 days ago . The next day I can see the image of the gas bubble like on the video and it decreases in size as days goes by . This time I can see the images of gas bubble in 3 separate sizes , is that normal?
Yes the bubble can break up into smaller bubbles with physical activity. Don't worry, they will all dissolve.

For me the letters/words disappear. And im only 14.
This is very young to have a hole and often occurs secondary to other things, such as scarring / trauma / surgery. Hope it gets sorted quickly.
@@eyesurgeryltd9392but you is these holes are serious are they are just normal depending on your age like yea
0:39 - one more thing: can't the resudual floaters (I mean the small silicon bubbles) somehow dissolve or be "eaten" by immune cells or something?
Unfortunately not. It is a bit like pigment in a tattoo, permanent unless removed.
0:39 - The video was released two years ago. I'm wondering if attitudes towards residual silicone bubbles have changed by now - I mean, do surgeons commonly perform surgery to remove the silicone floaters, or is it still considered unnecessarily risky? For example, I still have a suspension of small bubbles in my eye - 8 months have already passed, and I really hope to somehow get rid of them.
Hou much bubble you see right now?? Is it too much to impact your daily life?
They can be washed out multiple times, it is low risk, 1:1000 of infection / loss of sight. However many times they are washed out there will always be some left behind, but hopefully less than before.
Hi! After having a full detachment retina and I had surgery as this with the silicone oil treatment and 3 months ago the surgeon told me that it was looking good, yet 4 months later (3 days ago) the surgeon told me that unfortunately the bottom of the retina had detached a bit and it would be best to do surgery again and fix the retina and he’d leave the silicone plug or oil(whatever) in there to hold it permanently and forever. What is your opinion on this. The surgeon had told me originally that if the retina would detach that he’d do the surgery again and wait another 7-8 months and see if the second surgery would hold? Now he’s telling me that I’ve got too much pressure in my eye and that it would be best to just do a permanent surgery type and leave the silicone in there forever?🥵What do you suggest or think. I’m going to the surgery this Tuesday morning at 6 am. The 3rd of Oct, 2023.
How old u r

Hi, we try not to leave oil inside the eye, it is quite toxic long-term, and is best removed. Usually if the retina redetaches under oil then the retinal scarring is cut away and the oil replaced for a further 3+ months. After this we remove it. We would leave oil inside the eye if the eye pressure is very low (less than 5mmHg) to hold the shape of the eye.
Good video education information.
Good video education informations,
I have some floaters and double vision of eye and when I see the sky it I can feel some white minute dots moving this symptom is lasted for 1 year😢😢😢
Yes, floaters can be seen even with the eyes closed in sunlight. Annoying, but try to ignore them, they are harmless and are usually with you for life.
Hi - thanks for sharing. I’m about 9 days post operation and I’m noticing in my upper peripheral vision a black cloudy area. Is this the meniscus of the gas bubble? Or is this a sign of detachment still? Thanks.
Hi doctor. I recently got my silicone oil removed about 3 days ago but my eye is very blurry. Is this a normal thing after surgery?
Can you sew oil bubbles after removal??
@akshayprajapati6633 Yes. It's been 4 months since my silicone oil removal, but my vision is still blurry, and there is a small bubbles floating around.

Had this procedure last Monday and the sight is very slowly coming back and I mean very slowly.I hope it works it was found by Specsavers on my visit for new glasses. The repair was done within 24hrs.
What are the future risk of FOV?
I need this done within next 2 days .how long will I be in hospital ? I've been told I have to lay on my front face down for 5 days. Can I do this at home or do I have to stay in hospital?
Posturing is very surgeon and country specific. I do not posture any patients for any procedure beyond the first day. Some surgeons may posture you for weeks. Posturing can be done at home. In the UK all surgery is day-case and you go home the same day.
Unfortunately it was a haemorrhage and the bleed was too much. I'm now permanently blind in my right eye. I don't have diabetes so they said I must have had high blood pressure at the time . A year on I'm still having scans every month, and all the blood is still there , none has disappeared . Even if the blood does finally disappear ill be left with scarring , so I'll never get my sight back in my right eye 😢
Sorry to hear this. Bleeding can be from a burst artery (aneurysm) or from subretinal blood vessels, such as in wet macular degeneration. Best wishes, Steve
Vision with silicon oil will be 100% or not?
Silicone oil is clear but changes your glasses prescription. Assuming there is no cataract then glasses should be able to full correct your vision.
@@eyesurgeryltd9392and after its removal we can almost back to prior state of priscription?
Please do read my concern.. how long does it take for the to heal after oil removal and cataract surgery
Typically we give 1 month worth of drops, and advise 1 week off work.
I had this surgery 4 days back! Surgery was painless and I now have an air bubble line in my vision and the rest is very blurry for time being! If anyone is interested I can update as I go along on here? Drop me a reply so yt notifies me and will update everyone 👍
How is it now??
How long did you need to stay in hospital after you had this done,? I've been told I have to lay on my front face down for 5 days . Can I do this at home or do I have to stay in hospital?
@Kaiya_Corey Hi buddy! it depends what kind you have With the recovery. I was out of hospital 4 hours later after operation but had to go back the next day to have my patch removed and home an hour after that I had Some drops to take which were a Smidgen Sore!. I Spoken to Some people that had to lay on their front for a while I had a gas bubble in my eye and had a black Line across my vision that Went down and my vision Returned to normal slowly over a few weeks was lill the bubble from a spirit level inside my eye !! if you do need to have this Surgery and have to lay on your front because they may have put a Silicone bubble in its best to buy a massage table With the hole for the head So you can lay face down do you know What type or when your having it done buddy? and whats in for? is it diabetes related like mine? I gather with the Gas bubble it a much easier and faster recovery!
I had this surgery recently How was the vision during the bubble above and below the bubble line Was it all blurry or you can see partly clearly
@vyom7387 all healed now but the top was clearer a bit blurry and below the line was like water and took a week or two to come down the bubble goes down and your vision comes back to clear! Waiting for it on my left eye now but overall very happy with the surgery!
Sir Eye Surgeon removes selicon oil but still some oil jn my eye that why i feel not good vision advise is requested
There is always some oil bubbles, even microscopic ones, inside the eye after oil is removed. These do not usually affect the vision. The vision is usually affected by the retina and how much the central retina (macula) is damaged.
Can you see oil bubbles after so removed?
Why are colors dull ....I am 1 month out from my RD surgery,,,,,and still is blurry.....50% gas bubble
A retinal detachment will cause some damage to the retina. I hope that your vision fully recovers, but sometimes, depending on the severity of damage the vision may never be fully normal.
Gas bubble is much more convenient than oil bubble.
Yes, because it does not require a second operation to remove it, like oil!
I had to choose silicone oil- I live on Kaua’i but surgery is only available on Oahu. Only way home is by flying. Too bad we don’t have inter island ferries.
The animation to this educational video, is very good. 👍
How long does it take before you can travel or go on a plane typically
No flying with any gas in the eye. Otherwise you will be permanently blinded instantly. You can see the gas bubble and you are safe to fly the second it is gone.
Great info
Why do docs say 3-6 months to get better or resolve ? When a lot of the people don’t get better ?
Floaters will always be inside the eye unless you have them surgically removed, however, with time they shrink and pull away from the retina and are less noticable.
I’ve noticed outlines which appear to be of my vitreous in both eyes lower peripheral Could this be the eye jelly shrinking ?
Yes, if it is moving around it will be either floaters within the vitreous or the back surface of the vitreous.
Be careful of these, mine proved to be three retina detachment, two of them have been bilaterally at the same time, it has taken over three months to get over for separate surgeries to correct all of this, be careful
That’s rare tho bro
I have this and it's so annoying. There really is no cure? I'll never get better?
Blepharitis is just oil gland dysfunction. It is normal and can be managed. Think of treatment as looking after yourself, like applying lip balm, or skin moisturizer. TLC goes a long way.
@@eyesurgeryltd9392 , it's just annoying because idk if i can wear makeup, and sometimes it flares up and I'm back to square one. Not to mention it's itchy and makes me look gross, just when I think it's better it gets bad again

Hey can i know that how can we change eye colour naturally and also i have been listen that hipnoses also help to change eye colour naturally.like blue it is true and how can we.
Never use an implant to change your eye colour unless you want a lifetime of problems! If you have blue / hazel eyes then prostaglandin eye drops can darken your iris colour.
Hi, so basically I would have another surgery if I have a silicon oil in my eyes or else it will trigger into glaucoma or permanently blindness. Please enlighten me. Thanks.
Having silicone oil inside your eye massively increases your likelihood of glaucoma. It is not a certainty. Also, glaucoma does not mean blindness, if it is caught early and treated then loss of vision can be prevented.
Great informative video. Is there any risk developing glaucoma after this surgery?
Yes, any eye operation, or steroid drops, can increase your risk of glaucoma. The risk is small, but depends on the reason for surgery, your underlying risk of glaucoma, and they type of tamponade used (saline/gas/oil).
@@eyesurgeryltd9392 the surgery is for eye floaters where the doctor wants to remove the core vitreous only without PVD inducing and replace it with saline.
Thanks dear but some people we don't understanding English can u even do action plis🙏

why do people take so long to explain things
I hope this video was not long. Best wishes!
@@eyesurgeryltd9392 it wasn't, the video was perfect thank you!
My PVD is causing light sintive. , is that a bad thing
Any opacity in the visual axis can cause scattering of light and glare (reduced contrast and vision/dazzle). As long as your eye is not red and painful, suggestive of uveitis causing floaters, this is fine.
Hello good day 🖐
Hello 👋
Great explanation and video Thank you for sharing
My pleasure!
Thanks for the video, I do have a question.. what substance replaces the gas bubble?
As the gas bubble absorbs the eye fills with its natural fluid, known as aqueous. This fluid is replaced daily in a normal eye.
Cilicon
Silicone oil
Can I travel by air with calico oil inside eye.since 2 years it is in Eye with no trouble
It is safe to fly with oil in the eye. You can not fly only in the weeks after surgery if gas inside the eye.
So I get this to fix my vision but risk loss of vision with the procedure. Seems legit
Often without surgery the eye will be blinded. The operation will prevent this. But, surgery itself is not without risks, and you can be blinded by complications from surgery too.
has gas bubble lesser risk of glaucoma?
@@nimfacagnaan4516 not sure would recommend to check with your doctor. Coming off the surgery. It was interesting. Healing good now but my sight seems just like before. I guess just not going blind would be the good thing although I do have a lazy eye now :|
