Stunning! I can’t believe I’m just now finding you. May I ask what spackle you use? I’ve tried multiple types. Not one I love for piping until…flop! 😩 Then the other seems to pipe out in spurts. Currently I’m mixing RD and Dap. Seems to be the best yet but buying and mixing two can be a pain lol!
@auntbecksbakery63368 күн бұрын
Welcome! I use Dap for piping. I mix it in the container to get to a more smooth consistency. I usually paint after it dries. I find if you add paint before you pipe the piping can get too loose and not hold its shape. Thanks for watching!
@TheLupusLady8 күн бұрын
@@auntbecksbakery6336 thank you so much for answering. Normally I don’t add paint to my spackle (not the Dap at least) but I do add a strong coloring concentrate that I love! Painting after is so smart. After I watched a few of your videos I noticed what you used and how. Very smart! Thank you for the amazing tutorials and again, for taking time to answer back. 💜

I love your tutorials. Is a small star tip like a Wilton 32 or smaller? Is it closed or open star? Is the big one you made the shells with a 1M? This cake is gorgeous! The yellow is such a gentle, buttery yellow. I'm working toward making a circus-themed cake with vintage toppers and clown picks for myself once I get enough practice. 😁

What a great idea and thank you for sharing. ♥ I made my first cake slice, it took ages but I am getting more confident.. thank you for all your tutorials. I find a piece of denim to clean the hot knife blade works very well. 💖 Can you add a link for the sparkles? I looked on Amazon and cant see any like it.

Hello! I do sand some of them . I use a medium sanding block. It can get pretty messy. I do wear a mask. I used to glue boards to the bottom of all my cakes and sell them like that with a matching ribbon around the edge of the board. But I have stopped glueing the majority of the cakes I make to boards. Thanks for your questions! 💖

New here to fake bake and never heard anyone using house paints so in this case it’s thicker so less paint than using the standard acrylic paints I would think? Also do you buy flat, satin, eggshell? The paper sprinkles don’t fade or do you seal the whole thing with acrylic spray?Finally what did you use for the cherry? Sorry lots of questions but trying to learn and love this ❤ 👏🏻 👏🏻 thx for sharing!

Hi! This is so cute! I love your tutorials! In one of them, you said you sand your cakes to make them smooth. Do you use extra fine sandpaper until it's completely smooth? I'm familiar with using sandpaper with resin, but it's done wet (to keep from inhaling resin dust) and not dry. I know this is dry because you said wear a mask. Oh, and one more question......you hot glue the cake to the cake board to keep it from moving around. Do you peel it off once the cake is finished and dry or does the customer do that when they get the cake?
