  Like IW mentioned, it looks like the game thinks your feet aren't touching the ground between you jiggling up and down. With the elevator constantly moving down, increasing the distance since you last "touched the ground" and adding it onto your fall distance. Going from undead church almost all the way down to firelink is obviously tall enough to make fall damage lethal.

  That spell is actually pretty sick in ER. It's a really good heal punish and can do up to 700 damage if charged as L2/slow spell punish, while being pretty fp cheap And it can rollcatch pretty well if the opponent is rolling backwards
