My name is Freyia Norling, and I have a big interest in Witchcraft, Folklore, Faerytales, photography and videography.
I live in the north of Norway, Sápmi, with my partner Daniel (videographer) & our 3 dogs.
We have an arts and craft shoppe where we sell our reindeer antler jewellery and lots more (we are Alvebakken on Etsy) and a video production company called Alvebakken (translates from Norwegian The Faery Hill) outside the city of Bodø in Norway.
I am born in Italy, part Swedish-Sami.
Grew up in between Italy, the UK and Sweden.
We have a reindeer healing sanctuary here in Sápmi where we assist sick and fragile reindeer until they are healthy and can reunite with the herd.
This channel is all about life in Sápmi, the remote north Norwegian vidda/tundra and Norse and Sami folklore & magic.
MA Master's Degree in Norse & Sami Folklore and Mythology.
I live a life entirely on the land & with the land, hope this channel can inspire & bring awe.

Odin and Freya (varied spellings, I know) are literally my ancestors as I have traced back through the actual Ragnar and Aslaug through 2 of their sons. Yes I said 2, Yes I know what that means. It happens in many other places as well including my Milesian and Merovingian lines. I am also descended from Rollo, the Duke of Normandy who was not only unrelated, but from another Country. I know. People want to debate. It's traced when you know where to find it. Anyhoo...

There’s no such thing as ethical murder. Literally just a word made up by industries to make you feel better about eating the corpses of beings they found worthy of murder for profit. Disgusting.
Who murdered what? Just wondering if you are referring to me or reindeer husbandry at large. The reindeer in this video has been murdered by a Wolverine, a predator. You know what is the problem these days....if we took one breath and paused before shooting words....or at least took.a moment to clarify who we are addressing. You picked up your words and shot them faster than a hunter would ever do with an animal up here in the remote north of Norway. And this terrifies me these days. I agree very much with the fact there is no ethical murder in the big world, but up here the song is very different when it comes to reindeer husbandry, I would recommend to research it.

One day, I was in the woods with the family. I felt an need to survey the trees ahead of me, from left to right. When my gaze was directly head, I was face to face with a reindeer. A really big reindeer. One thing me and my wife agreed upon- it didn't look real. I tried to slowly reach my phone to take a picture. It started to move. I was able to snap a few. The first shot- NO REINDEER. Just the trees and the brush. There was NO WAY this reindeer could have been hiding behind the brush. It was just too big. It did, however appear in another shot, as it was running away. I'm was confident I went face to face with a jinn/spirit that day, that was capable of shape shifting. Respect nature- ALWAYS. You never really know what you are coming face to face with in nature.
I drew The Blank Rune today, and this message from Odin found me. Thank You.
Blank runes are a modern invention, They really don't mean anything.

The Gods, called to me many years ago and it was Odin who shook me from my slumber and showed me the value of wisdom, traveling, wandering, and living.
