Thank you for posting this!! Did they take down the original? This is such a great, fundamental basis for ice climbing. I tried to find it today to give some beginners this terrific resource. Thanks again!

Still one of the best ever ice climbing kessons, IMHO! I keep recommending this, but even with the exact title in the KZread Search box, this video comes up after 30 other videos and advertising.. It should be #1! Thanks again for keeping this alive!

I wonder how her would go as an explorer? No doubt he's super human, but I wonder how he would survive under Mawson conditions? Endurance really captivates me as well as survival instinct.. any thoughts

As a world class athlete, I'm sure he'd be fine. If he has one weakness, it might be a vulnerability to boredom. And he might one day come undone on a lesser range, like in the Scottish Highlands, just because being "superhuman" might tempt him to be overconfident. Hopefully not, though!

+Privacy Matterson I don't think that he would underestimate the Scottish Highlands. I guess that only casual alpinists would underestimate theses. The Highlands are much more prone to wind and weather than most parts of the Alps usually are. Apart from that: when you can read a mountain, you can do this everywhere in the world. And I guess Ueli Steck can read mountains.
