A multi species flyfishing channel created by a London based fly fisher to publish the occasional fishing video. This all started when The London City Angler filmed me fishing an urban stream during the summer of 2020 but due to lack of time the footage wasn't edited. The only way to publish the video was to edit it and post it myself!
I'm a 38 year old London born and bred anger who has been fly fishing for ten years. I've had blogs and articles published by Fulling Mill, Flyculture Magazine and the Angling Times under the names of Tim James and Tim Pottage and featured in a Cast-Away Crew (Blaede Russell) fly fishing feature.

lol looked real funny with the geese strolling in a line 1:38 when u came through hahah
Glad I found this channel just started euro nymphing and making videos fishing with it in the market for a higher end rod 😊
Great stuff. Caught a tench on a nymph years ago. Love it!
That’s a different level of patience, very interesting. Tench were one of my favourite coarse species when I used to coarse fish so I can understand why he tries for them on the fly, thanks for continuing to share some of the more niche aspects of the sport 👍
Really cool video ! Nice to see some content back from you! Hope you are ok!
nice one. Tim. Thank you
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it
This is exactly what I was looking for; all the information I need to catch a tench on the fly! Thank you! I am based in Zurich and see lots of tench and carp close in to the margins. Until now, I have mainly caught chub, pike , roach, Rudd and perch. The tench and carp have ignored everything that I have put in front of them. As you said, they are not spooked by the presence of man, but they are spooked by line. Thanks again
Let us know how you get on. Tight lines.
Nice flies, had my first carp recently brilliant fun tench is a dream
First of many carp no doubt. Hopefully you'll get a tench at some point too.
Great movie. Love other species on fly
Many thanks for the kind words and for taking the time to watch the video
Should fish static on a bung, nice vid though
Amazing patience- rewarded in the end. Terrific video
The video pretty much sums up the effort needed, more walking less casting! Many thanks for the kind words.
One of your best yet 🔥 great shots and music choice on point. Very informative fishing as well props to Ethan 👌🏻
Many thanks for the kind words Josh, see you later.
Cracking video and method of fishing enjoyed that 👌🏻
Thanks for checking it out! They're an amazing species to target on the fly if you're lucky enough to have the right water.
Patience and focus we could all learn from that. Excellent video, tight lines.
It was mostly walking around which makes filming hard. But it shows the reality of the fishing.
Really nice, informative video! Very similar to wild Carp on the fly I think? I have not really done either, but both are definitely on the 'Bucket List'!
Almost identical fishing although in my case a couple of my carp waters are turbid so your casting to fish cruising in the upper layers rather than on the bottom.
Great video! Well done Tim and Ethan!
Many thanks Dom, if you change your mind about the park let me know.
Wow, what an amazing concept. Good angling
It not exactly mainstream fishing in the UK but if you have a similar venue definitely give them a go.
Yes! New content! Going temkara/keiryu fishing tomorrow! 🎣
Hope you had a productive day.
@@flyfishinglondoner thank you! caught a 15 inch rainbow trout and broke a rod tip lol
Mad 😅 love it Tim ….. great work and gets better every time
good video, love that flyrod
Thanks for checking it out. As you might know it's a Vision rod, forgot the actual model though.
The best video, the best music 👍👍👍 Thank you so much!
Really enjoyed that
Enjoyed this a lot. We have a newly opened coastal sea trout fishery over here on the firth of forth too so ill be trying some of this.
That ‘brown foam’ is an algae that mullet love, I’m in Cornwall and when you see that on beaches, the fish are not far away. Our water is much cleaner though 😂😂
Class video bud, are you on instagram would love to chat to you about sea trout🤔
Lovely looking water and immediately feeling calm from watching 👍🎣
Clever idea 👍😃🎣
Where was this?
Great stuff! Word of caution as someone who has been there, wading on mud flats can be difficult and I would highly recommend waders and especially laced wading boots as wellies can b difficult to pull out when they get stuck
Get a leash instead
Nice video! Is josh using a glass rod? What rod is he using?
Great video Ellie & Tim…lovely grayling!...thanks for sharing
Great Film. well done.
15 min cities, opens up whats close and unexplored. So much walking to the opposite river bank to catch water, go close go exploring😂
Excellent vlog👍
Excellent film, thank you for making and sharing it.
Its hardly flyfishing is it? If you just going out pinging weighted flies, with no casting or flyline, you may aswell take a whip rod. Stop valling it Flyfishing when its not
Insightful…
Why not using a strike indicator?
How much crak did you sell to get your rod 😂
How much? Sold enough to your mum to buy it outright. Been selling to her long enough that it affected your schooling to the point that you can't spell crack properly.
sometimes i catch seatrout
Please do not do any video again you are ......
Hi great vid very much enjoyed. Flies where did you get them from or if you tied directions on instructions on how to tie. Thank you
Excellent Tim. I really enjoyed it.
Great video. Very informative.
Nice to have caught up today on the video. Really nice video and great work encouraging people to try their own local streams. Nice mix of footage and love the subtle pieces on tactics, nice not to be weighed down with every piece of gear you “need”. Looking forward to the next one Tim.
Hi, I did find out that the disc drag is Teflon as opposed to Carbon disc. Just for your info. thanks for your video.........
Great looking channel, gained a new subscriber here mate. All the best from the north east. 🙏☮️🙏
Great video guys! I discoved something very similar on my doorstep! It was always polluted years ago with no life whatsoever. A couple of years ago I spotted herons and kingfishers regularly on this tiny stream. I decided to try fishing it. So far my bigest fish was a 2.5lb perch!. Nobody goes there! It's a jungle but such an exciting place! I know nothing regarding fly fishing, is it legal to use flies/lures during coarse closed season as I'd love to try them.
If it has a decent population of trout then fish away. I'd suggest heading out one evening and having a look for rising fish.
@@flyfishinglondoner thanks will do.
Great to see a small urban stream with so many fish. Really enjoyed the vid but for me the music was an unnecessary intrusion
