Darn. Trail shoulder down! Tidy like. Playing my favorite playing partner Monday at Shadow Mountain, Cranbrook BC. Going to practice this as I'm alway over with the shoulder. Tks
Simple move Gareth, you can do it, good luck on Monday!
Good video. I have recently been struggling with structure in the arms and just decided to play straight lead arm on the back swing, straight trail arm downswing. Creates a very nice even balanced swing
Good to hear, consistent radius of arc ☑️
Great info
Thanks Nick ⛳️
Another KZreadr won the draw 😂, do me favour. Instant put off 🤢
Thanks for the review. 👍🏼 Can you tell me what shafts you were using on both clubs? I'm trying to decide which set to buy my son (5- handicap).
No problem Christian. Elevate 105 Stiff
Just stumbled onto this video. I think I discovered this incidentally yesterday. I was trying to get a big turn in backswing and follow through. For some reason I could feel myself straightening the arms, even though my intention was big turn. Had this swing thought for the second half of the round. Everything I hit started to be basically a rope to my target. I was waiting for it to not work anymore but it never stopped working. I wasn’t thinking about swing path anymore and it felt so free. Before this change, on the front nine, I shot 5 over. After this change, on the back nine, I shot even. And that was with 2 missed birdie putts inside 6 feet. The funny thing is, I’ve tried your idea before, but perhaps I wasn’t doing it right, because the result weren’t there, so I gave up. But I think my big turn thought, for whatever reason, caused me to have that connection you speak of, probably because my arms would flop over my shoulder if I didn’t straighten them, when I’m attempting to turn more.
Glad you found it helpful and sounds like you are getting some great results from it. Keep it up 👍🏻
Thanks mate. Nice video. From a keen Aussie fan
Thanks for watching Mark ⛳️👍🏻
Playing Mizuno 221 blades I was expecting the i230 to be more appealing but…..the i530 is a much better looking iron and the distance advantage is fantastic. A real competitor to the Mizuno 245
For sure, i530’s look amazing and have so much speed!
Well which one?
Best for a high handicap player ?
Generally for single figure golfers but the low spin drivers are much more forgiving these days and definitely worth trying if you hit it high
good review
Glad you enjoyed it
Nice mate
Thanks 👍
Nice video Matt and good hole selection
Thanks Marc 👍🏻
Hi how do I tell if my shafts on my irons are graphite or steel
if i don’t like the swing weight of most irons i might need to add lead tape to the head. the callaway, i can just get a heavier weight and nobody would know. that’s a huge plus for me
Great video...subscribed thanks
Awesome, thank you!
G430 much better club, I go retro at 31 degree 7 iron.for me spin is important
It’s player specific for me, i530’s retro are so good too!
I hit both of these in a fitting. G430 worked better for me. Both look good.
Yes both great, G430 edge it for me
As an 83 old player with a swing speed probably in the low 70’s I find that the higher the drive the more the ball drops out of the sky. When I hit a solid lower drive I get more distance because of the roll. I think these computers should measure the descent angle as a steep one will give you minimum roll, and for me a shorter drive.
Yes if you play on firm conditions then lower loft works well
Which loft do you recommend for someone who shoots in the mid-eighties. 10 and a 1/2 degree or 12°
What’s your typical ball flight and general miss?
Do you think lower loft you’re attack angle has to be higher for the high launch low spin .
Great video again Matt, food for thought on the loft of my driver and the impact it has on my miss to the right (slice)
Glad you found it helpful pal 👍🏻
For me personally, the higher loft definitely helps to stop the slice
100% agree
No sheet dude! Adjustable drivers have always been low loft open face right or higher loft closing the face left !!! I have always believed the average golfer is so much better off with the no adjustment glued in shaft !!!!
Yes they have and are a big part of the fitting process to help players get rid of there big miss
Interesting test. My driver is a 10.5 and I've thought about lower the loft.
What’s your general flight in terms of height and direction?
not 8° but 9° as shown in the video!
Take a closer look, it’s set at -1 on the loft sleeve
I’ve got the Ping i530’s in my bag. I wanted a more forgiving iron and also I wanted to slow my swing speed down so the stronger lofts mean I don’t lose distance. Played a couple of rounds with them and I love them. ⛳️👍🏼
Glad you like them 👍🏻
The Smoke is incredible, but my Rogue ST Max is still staying in my bag.
Yes it’s been a top performer this year!
If this drivers hit straight , then there’s no need to buy a new driver for the next 20 years..
Thank you. Very concise and informative
Song?
How much impact to spin and land angle do you get with retro loft?
Why do you let the sound inside an echo chamber get to you? This club is extremely good but it's obvious you have bias...not a good look...
Just my honest opinion, still a great performing club. Ping is my number 1 seller for my business by a distance
Mizuno pro 245’s simple answer
Will have to try them
Iron Cobra forged X is never better😉
Will have to try them
Did you not include the T200 because they didn't get an update this year? I certainly understand why you'd limit yourself, and I play the P790 2021 myself, but they'd definitely fit well into this section.
Yes just went for clubs released in 2024 but T200’s are a top performer in this category
I recently received my dynapower forged irons. I hit about a bucket and a half of balls prior to the round and that was it, so I was a little nervous. It was some of the best ball striking I've done on a golf course, it's so crazy how many different shots I'm able to play. I just came out of a game forgiveness iron and I've never played a iron with this sort of workability. I'm definitely not ready for blades, but these are perfect for me and I can't believe how great they feel to hit. I finally understand what the word buttery means
Srixon ZX5 MKII, you’re welcome 👍🏾
Great club, left them off as released last year
Since the P770s had the better dispersion that you preferred, if the P770 had the same lofts as the ZX7s, would you recommend the P770. I'm looking at both of these clubs, but I like the looks and size of the P770 a little more.
Hi Tom, yes the P770’s would edge it
Great review and line up Matthew all on my list as a senior 15/17 handicapper . Tried the i530 which I preferred to the P790 but must try the others. Looking for for forgiveness, distance and feel.
Glad you found to useful, all worth trying to see what’s best for you
Arguably the Callaway iron that would best fit into this group is the Smoke max, both in head profile and lofts, and it is a beast for distance.
I see that more of a mid to high handicap range, it’s a beast!
NO T200???
I would take the i530 with retro lofts. The number on the club is irrelevant. Ping has always produced clubs with consistent yardage gaps between clubs. As a lower handicap player I want to know I have a bag of clubs that cover all the yardages not the irons I can brag about hitting my 7 iron 190 yards.
They are so good and retro lofts would help gap the wedges
Appreciate the test, however people with your swing speed will not be playing these clubs. Also the 2 mph faster swing speed for G730 makes the distance results questionable. Might I suggest hitting both clubs at lower speed, and taking the 5 closest to 80 mph for each? Thanks again.
Great video I have played at Bolton golf myself great course :)
I tried both and the Srixon was giving me the best results. Ended up with a combo set of ZX7 and ZX5. Love playing with them
Great to hear!
I have g30 and my 7 iron is 30.5 degrees loft You are not comparing apples to apples. Get a 6 iron from my set and compare.
29 deg v’s 28 deg, very similar loft
Great shot
