Hi there, nice video and great looking plane. Im thinking about getting this plane as i like civilian aircraft. Would you recommend it? Does it glide well and does it fly well at slow speeds?

Thanks! It is a nice plane and I would recommend it. As far as flight characteristics, it flies like a low wing sport plane. It can glide pretty easily but slows down with the flaps for landings.

Was that the maiden? Float planes and flying boats in particular can be tricky in the water. You did good! I just took one of these out of the box and put it onto the table for assembly. It will take me a while. Do you still have yours and if so, how are you doing with it?

Hello, thanks! It wasn't the maiden flight but it was only the second or third flight ever off water. I still have it but haven't flown it for a few years. It is a nice flying plane but it is tricky to takeoff/land smoothly. Good luck with yours 😉

Unlike the ailerons you need to connect the control rods for the flap servos on the same side of the servo arms for both wings. Mine are both on the right side as you look at them from underneath with the nose pointing up.

Presumably that's because the servos are not installed in such a way that they travel in the same direction - you either need an inline reverser, or your radio may have the facility to reverse the servo by connecting to a spare channel.

Thanks, the paint is just Home Depot paint samples applied with a brush. For the motor, get the Dynam the BM3720A-600KV motor that they use in the Tempest and Hurricane.

That’s why you have a separate flight pack to power your servos and not everything off your Motor battery

I noticed you didn't install the wheel well for the nose gear. I'm also thinking of leaving it out as I'm not sure what the manual is saying. Did you end up adding it at any point?

I did end up installing the nose insert. I does look nice but it was a bit of a pain getting it trimmed just right.

This is a 4s setup. I tried 6s and it was way overkill for this plane. The retracts and oleos are from HK.

It is adequate for a scale plane. If you more a 5s battery might be the ticket. I been meaning to try that sometime but haven't had a chance lately
