Huge assumption: audience knows about and uses Docker. This makes me think I'm not ready for this despite being familiar with SAP development, services (ahem, DJ), NPM, VSS, et al. Then you tell me (as an afterthought) it's not required for local use - after I've spent a couple of hours boning up on Docker.

I have a need to excute an "ALTER SEQUENCE" sql statment. I have migrated some data in HDI Container now want to reste Sequence, but could not find how to do this with CDS.
CDS is not going to have any syntax to alter a sequence. To set the next value on a sequence you are going have to do that with SQL from an HDI admin user and the SQL Console.

Hi mam, Thanks for this session. I have doubt regarding the custom objects like reports. I am currently working in Public cloud project as Functional Consultant. So in our project business came up with new requirement like Aging report for both customer and supplier. So, with the help of our SAP community and Blogs we developed the report by using the existing available standard CDS views and analytical queries mam. So now my doubt is in SAP S4HANA we have SE16N-Table View to pass the values and check the FS before sharing with Developers but in cloud i think so Table View SE16N is not available. So, if any report we need to develop with the help of developer means how we can write a FS based on cloud data sources because i can see in cloud we have a sap standard data sources and in cds view we can use multiple data source as associated data source. So, my question is if we are going to develop a report with the help of developer how we can convey logic into their language. Is there smiliar APP in cloud same as SE16N. As a functional consultant i try to understand the cloud functionality. So kindly let me know mam.

Hi, in all my process automation tutorials i got the same error 500. The destination is configured but, i also get an succesfull toast message, but there is no running instance in the monitoring. CDS virtual elements are supported by BODS as well, or it is specific to ODATA alone..
Virtual Elements are only supported in RAP and is Odata dependent
@sapdevs Thank you so much for the response. Sorry to ask these basic questions, As I am new to SAP, still trying my best to understand these concepts and making myself familiar with SAP technology. Coming to my doubt, If I understood it correctly , virtual elements used to fetch Text (READ_TEXT) in BODS extraction will not provide the expected results. Even if we use Odata specific annotations, too.. Please suggest. Is there a way to extract Sales Order details along with Header/Item order text using CDS view in BODS extraction.

Is there a reason to have two seperate node.js modules for the xsjs and srv folders, could these not just run from the same node module?
Basically the reason: so it will be supported by SAP. SAP strong recommends and only supports separation of the XSJS compatibility module and regular Node.js or CAP into separate services. There is too much chance of interdependency/conflight of underlying modules. While it technically does work as the XSJS compatibility module uses Express and can be technically integrated into a single module, it's just too much chance that something might go wrong. Therefore our samples always show these two services separated.

Yes, it must be exactly that name. For productive accounts, I believe the booster used to set up SAP Build Process Automation will set this up automatically but trial does not have a booster.

I saw that I didn't had authorization to view the data for table TCURR, is this due to missing Auth? Thanks!
Hi, This error is not related to authorization issue. The system BTP Trial in which you are trying doesn't have the necessary data to carry on the currency conversion function. Hence it's not able to determine the conversion rate.

Consuming the XSJS? From the UI? If so there are some examples here: github.com/SAP-samples/hana-opensap-cloud-2020/tree/main/app/resources/multiply But they are basically use calling a REST API via SAPUI5

Hii. Can anyone help me in a usecase of SAP BUILD APPS. I have 2 datetime field and on the app screen I want a live timer countdown. Eg: 31/04/2024T08:00:00Z & 31/10/2024T09:00:00Z will give me a result like 200 days 3hours 5mins and 39 seconds left. where time is dynamically changing every min. Will be helpful if you provide me quick suggestion.
So you have 2 page variables - one for the "event date" and one for the current date, and then you update the current date every second and then refresh the clock? Something like that? What seems to be the place you are having trouble? It seems you would have page variables for each part of the timer (days, hours, mins, seconds) and each second you would calculate those values and the timer's bound values would change.
