    A lot of stories in the OT are myths. Though there are equally true stories given the presence of archeological evidence. such as enslavement of Israelites in Egypt the building of pyramids most definitely required a lot of labor.

    It not made up. The story of Noah resonates through different culture, from native Americans, Africans and Asia. There is also scientific evidence to suggest that a great flood took place thousands of years ago on planet earth.

    @@musicden2361 Humans have been around for at least 200,000 years. The Bible covers only 5,000-7,000 years. The Bible claims man was the first living thing created roughly 5,000-7,000 years ago, yet we have skeletal remains of dinosaurs millions of years old. Man made tools have been unearthed. The oldest examples of this technology were the Oldowan tools from Tanzania, which date to about 2.6 million years ago. The earth's history, and biblical history clashes. Ancient writings and teachings vs archaeological finds. You are willing to believe scientific evidence of a flood, but not believe in scientific evidence of early mankind and pre-history finds. Sounds like you are trapped in a book written to civilize early Jews and Hebrews. It's time to wake up! I am your alarm clock.

    I don't want to discuss the Flood, (where God broke every one of Nature's Law), but what came after. It's quite interesting. The post-antediluvians had their traditions, all right. So Ham - more precisely, his offspring - was cursed (and with God's approval!). There are quite a few classic renditions in Art of the Noah episode. First of all there is painter Raphael who shows the Ark in progress. Noah is supervising the work, clad in typical patriarchal robes. Two of his family members (or hired Caanites, like Tubal-cain who outfitted the Ark with copper pipes and ornaments) work in the nude. Understandable, as Mesopotamia had and has a Mediterranean climate. (Apostle Peter, not to forget, fished clothesless when he saw Jesus standing on the water. And was so foolish to put his robe on when he joyfully jumped overboard 😁) Btw, there is also a woodcut version of Raphael's Ark building scene, and whoever did that one, put loin cloths on the workers. In the Noah episode, the nudity taboo is clearly only applicable to Patriarch Noah (and the women in the tribe I assume). Now Michelangelo Buonarroti made a most remarkable painting of the scene in Noah's tent. In the Sistine ceiling fresco, Ham is rendered with his two brothers who carry the blanket while keeping their gaze averted from their father. However, all three sons are shown naked themselves, save for a cloak hanging loosely from their shoulders... And with naked, I mean with fully visible genitals. I find this quite hilarious. Now Michelangelo was a deeply religious man, but stubbornly on HIS terms, not the Catholic Church's. So most probably he mocked the Vatican with that panel. And no one protested! Michel made another quite 'blasphemous' art work - look up his ceiling painting of Adam and Eve standing and sitting before the Tree of Wisdom, and with the Serpent, tapping Eve's shoulder to hand her a forbidden fruit. It's easy to imagine what the position of Eve's face was, before she looked back over her shoulder, and with where Adam stands right that moment... it's a scene with a lot of innuendo! And it's not a design mistake-- Michelangelo made of all the frescoes many pre-sketches. Again, for centuries, kings and cardinals and mothers superior have been looking up, and admiring Michelangelo's p∅rn... In Genesis, there are only a few moments where nudity is mentioned. In the episode of Adam and Eve's creation, firstly. "Who told thee that thou wast naked". It was of course a rhetoric question, but as a naturist, I marvel over the wisdom - and sense for mockery - of God. I'm still bothered by the traditions and taboos of the Noah tribe, though. If we consider that these people really existed, the chastity rules can't have been THAT heavy, bodily shame came only after the founding of Catholicism. I suspect that Ham sinned in a much worse way. Something that even in our time is frowned upon. Only then; the story of Noah and Ham makes SENSE. Btw, you forgot to mention WHY Noah became drunk. It's something you can't blame him for: after the Flood, there were certain changes-- rains, instead of ground mist in the morning, and the introduction of fungi. Noah's grape juice fermented. And God didn't inform him about that. 😊 God and Michelangelo seem to have a lot in common!

    Abraham had 6 more sons after Sarah's death with Keturah. Many Jewish Scholars believe that Hajer Changed her name to Keturah & Returned to Abraham . In All, Abraham in Truth had 8 sons. One of Keturah & Abraham's sons, Midian is listed & Moses' Father in law is Calked Priest of Midian in the Bible. Thus, Moses' two sons, Goshen & Eliazar his Bedouin Arabian wife were half Arabian & Bedouins. * Joseph's 2 Sons, Ephraim & Manneda were Half Egyptian by his Egyptian Wife. Hajer, Mother of First born son of Abraham, was Actually a HABDMAIDEN & a Gift from Pharoah's own Palace..& Not Black Nor a Slave, which Sarah in her Jelousy came to remind her. Hajer & IshmaEL ( God HEARS) Actually WERE NOT 'CAST OUT'ZZ but SET FREE.

    The story of Abraham, Sarah, Hagar (Hajer), and their descendants is indeed rich with complexities and different interpretations across religious traditions. In the biblical narrative, Abraham is depicted as having multiple sons, including Ishmael with Hagar (Hajer), and later, six sons with Keturah after Sarah's death. The relationship between Hagar and Keturah, as well as the status of Hagar as a handmaiden, has been subject to interpretation and debate. Regarding Moses, his marriage to a woman from Midian, and the potential Arab ancestry of his children, there are indeed interpretations that suggest cultural and ethnic diversity within his family. Each interpretation brings its own insights and nuances to the narrative, contributing to the ongoing discussion and understanding of these ancient texts.

    It had already been prophesied in the Bible that the descendants of Ishmael/Arabs shall administer the Temple Mount/Jerusalem. Isaiah 60:7 "All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together unto thee, the rams of Nebaioth shall minister unto thee: they shall come up with acceptance on mine altar, and I will glorify the house of my glory." Kedar is the second son of Ishmael, and founder of the tribe that bore his name (Genesis 25:13). Many Arabs trace their lineage back through Ishmael to Abraham. All the flocks of Kedar - On the word 'Kedar,' see the notes at Isaiah 21:16. The Kedarenians were a wandering tribe that frequently changed their residence, though it is probable they usually dwelt in the south part of Arabia Desert, or the north of Arabia Petraea. They are mentioned as dwelling in beautiful tents Sol 1:5 : 'I am black, but comely as the tents of Kedar,' see Psalm 120:5; compare Isaiah 21:16-17; Isaiah 42:11. The language here also means that that which constituted their principal wealth would come and enrich Jerusalem. The rams of Nebaioth - Nebaioth was also a son of Ishmael Genesis 25:13; 1 Chronicles 1:29, and was the father of the Nabatheans. They were a people of Arabia Petraea, and lived principally by plunder, trade, and the keeping of flocks. The country of Nabathea extended, it is supposed, from the Euphrates to the Red Sea, and embraced Petra, the capital of Arabia Deserts, and also Medaba. It is not possible, however, to fix the exact boundaries of the various tribes of Arabians. The general idea is, that their most valuable possessions would be devoted to God. Dome of the Rock is the Third Temple. There are some interpretations of the Bible that suggest that the construction of the Dome of the Rock is prophesied in the Book of Daniel. Specifically, some people believe that Daniel 12:11 is a prophecy about the building of the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem. "And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days." [Daniel 12:11] It is a heresy/unholy to think that Jews shall administer Temple Mount/Jerusalem as it had been clear in the Holy scripture that descendants of Ishmael/Arabs had been ordained by G-d to administer Jerusalem/Temple Mount.

    I believe irrespective of what the brothers did right or wrong, Jacob was the chosen one from the beginning. Every single person that was chosen by God to fulfill His will was flawed in someway, some adulterers, womanizers ,murders etc.

  • @Palette_of_the_Past
    @Palette_of_the_Past2 ай бұрын

    Absolutely, you're touching on a profound theme in religious narratives: the idea that divine choices often intersect with human imperfections. Throughout biblical history, we see that God's chosen ones often had significant flaws. Despite their imperfections, God used them to fulfill His purposes. This underscores the importance of God's grace and the idea that He can work through flawed individuals to accomplish His will.

    Cain was afraid of being killed after he murdered his brother Abel because he feared retaliation or punishment from others, including God and possibly his own family members. Cain's fear was likely a combination of guilt, apprehension about divine punishment, and concern about potential revenge from others, including his family members.
