PM on Facebook .. Have A Great Day ! ----------- Are You Still Talking On That HILLBILLY SPLATTERBOX ?? Wondering Why You Need An Amplifier Just To Be Heard ?? I've been asked a million times (seems like) how we do it. Well, forget all about them meterbator "ghost watt" garbage NPC wideband swing gimmick tricks and concentrate On How CLEAN You Can Make It. Cleaner And Meaner .. DONE! There'll NEVER be s Substitute. It's more complicated and time-consuming but by the end of the day, every way, every day, far superior, watt for watt, than any other "peak & ruin" in its path. Like they all say .. MR 163HD, aka Mud Duck In The Desert Puts The Proof In The Pudding! Once these types of "export" radios are so-called converted, they're no longer in tune. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM! It's like your antenna being tuned at 29.600 MHz (that's the factory out-of-the-box tune, not even the center of its operating frequency range) but you're using the radio at 27.185 (11-meter CB Band). Export radios are like a different species .. you better know what you're doing! Many are incapable or incompetent and will "argue" this FACT just to get your hard-earned $$$$. There are many Crooks, CON-ARTISTS, FRAUDS, and Panic-A-Quacks out there so-called "truckerizing" radios .. rendering them not worth the shipping cost for repair and realignment with correct updates. PAY ATTENTION! If they "argue" about elements, constants, or the Laws Of Physics, find someone who is honest and competent!! Make sure they have a 100-watt continuous input Service Monitor with a current NIST calibration certificate and know how to use it. It's the essential tool required when servicing ANY EXPORT CB Radio like Stryker, ALL AnyTone, ARES, CRT variants, President, Galaxy, RCI Ranger, Nanfone, General, Super Star, Dirland, Magnum, and Albrecht just to name a few. The matched pair of "authentic" Palomar ERF2030 FETs using a curve tracer, for unity, and MAX MOD is the Icing on the cake. The Alps encoder/channel selector upgrade with the custom knob is the Cherry On Top. Performance and Reliability are second to none! Cleaner And Meaner .. Never settle for less or that's watt you'll get! You'll be giving radio checks .. not asking for them. Don't be in a hurry .. One at a time. Not accepting mail-ins, walk-ins, or tire kickers. It's all about Procedure. Safety First And Have A Great Day! BTTB >>> -------------------------------------------- Have questions?? I noticed that radioactive s stamped SR-955 HC. While the new units are labeled SR-955 HPC. Stryker says there is no difference between the HC & HPC. So why the difference model numbers?? I thought maybe HC was the ver I and HOC ver 2, but I’ve seen units labeled HC called a ver 2. Can you expand on this?

Its so cool to hear the mud duck ! Used to pick you up in Washington Pa as I'd be running my water truck around for the tracking industry. There so many trucks out that way. We have to use our radios all shift. I always got a kick out of saying back to the bench to other drivers. Took me a few listens to catch on to the fact that you were all the way out in the desert in NM! You came in Crystal clear daily. Always got a kick out of listening to the Mud duck 163! Cool stuff man.

Timmy boy has a website with claims that he only uses the best solder, the best tools and equipment. His tools are not the best along with some of his older and not recently calibrated equipment. Even if he had the best of the best, he still has no real experience or training in electronics or radio theory. He's an internet trained, "MONKEY SEE, MONKEY DOO DOO". If Timmy boy really want to prove to everyone he's the King Cobra, he should get a radio that needs some major work he is not familiar with, get a schematic on it and stream that live while we all watch him fuck it up

I recently purchased a citizen's band transceiver and was surprised by the amount of negative feedback surrounding these communication devices { no pun intended}. As someone with a degree in Electronics Engineering, specializing in BioElectronics Engineering, I am well-versed in the technical aspects but lack hands-on experience with these types of transceivers. I have several technical questions regarding the design and optimization of radio linear amplifiers using a Class AB push-pull topology: Intermodulation Distortion (IMD): What strategies can be employed to minimize intermodulation distortion in Class AB amplifiers? Thermal Management: What are the most effective thermal management techniques to ensure stability and longevity of the transceiver? Precise Biasing Technique: How can one achieve and maintain precise biasing to ensure the quiescent current remains within optimal limits, thus avoiding thermal runaway? Negative Feedback Loop: How can a negative feedback loop be implemented using a directional coupler and an operational amplifier to enhance linearity and reduce harmonic distortion? Parasitic Capacitances and Inductances: What impact do parasitic capacitances (C_obo and C_ies) and inductances (L_e and L_c) have on the high-frequency response of the amplifier? What network matching techniques can be used to mitigate these effects? Any detailed insights or practical advice on these issues would be greatly appreciated.

Sir, I am considering purchasing my first citizens band transceiver. I am an electrical engineer however I have very little hands on expertise with them, so a question please? So in the design of a CB radio linear amplifier utilizing a Class AB push-pull topology with a pair of complementary RF power transistors, each having a maximum collector current (I_C(max)) of 25A and a breakdown voltage (V_CEO) of 75V, I need to optimize the amplifier for minimal intermodulation distortion and maximum efficiency at an operating frequency of 27.185 MHz. Can you sir, discuss your methods of advanced thermal management strategies required to handle the power dissipation in the transistors? considering the thermal resistance junction-to-case (R_θJC) of 0.5°C/W. Kindly explain for me the precise biasing technique you would employ to achieve thermal tracking and stability, ensuring the quiescent current is maintained within optimal limits to avoid thermal runaway? I have my own theories but seek professional assistance. Also, can you detail the implementation of a negative feedback loop using a directional coupler and an operational amplifier to enhance linearity and reduce harmonic distortions? Please describe the impact of parasitic capacitances (C_obo and C_ies) and inductances (L_e and L_c) on the high-frequency response of the amplifier and how you would mitigate these effects using network matching techniques because as you know, it can be finicky affair. Finally sir, will you aid in calculating the theoretical power output and efficiency of the amplifier, assuming an input drive level of 1W and a power gain of 15 dB, taking into account the potential influence of second-order and third-order intercept points (IP2 and IP3). I believe I have worked out problems but any assistance will be appreciated. Thank you JAD...

I guess I'll ad more comments to " TIMMY'S TEMPER TANTRUM " channel. About 10 years ago, he did a video making remarks about all the wax in the radio he had to take out and clean up. He was referring to the wax in the vco section. If this pudgy ignorant Biden/ Obama lover was the self taught radio man he thinks he is, he would know what the wax was for and leave it there or replace if work needed to be done in the vco. He also didnt know why there was dried up glue on some parts. Ues, this could be bad after some years and shoukd be "REPLACED", not just removed. One other wild crazy stupid thing he would do. He would remove the circuit board and hose it down in the back yard and video it. Then he would proceed to remove the coating from the solder side of the board. Again, he has no clue as to why its there. Everything he does to radios is strictly what he learned on the internet. He knows absolutely nothing about radio theory, electronics, circuits, components, how to read schematics, or how to use test equipment. Oh, but wait a minute, he uses only the best solder money can buy. And most important, he likes to "FUCK UP RADIOS".

I've known about Timmy since 2009. Someone brought me a Cobra 148GTL Timmy boy worked on and want to know what I thought. They also showed me the KZread video Timmy made while working on the radio. He had no clue as to the equipment he has and how to use it. I could see Timmy was "SELF TAUGHT" and was basically an internet "GOLDEN SCREWDRIVER" CB moron. If you hand him a schematic, he would not know what he is looking at. He has no background in electronics what so ever. He simply works on Cobras utilizing what he can find on the internet. He has no clue to basic electronics let alone radio theory. I could not believe the $$$ he charges to perform meatball surgery on radios and the fact that everyone actually pays this scammer for his BULLSHIT . So I put this guys radio on my bench and looked at what he had done. I then showed this guy my basically stock 1989 Cobra 2000 GTL. This guy was flipping out as he realized Timmy took almost $300.00 from him and it wasn't doing any better than my radio. So let me tell you a little about my background. I got my ham license when I was 15. My father was a radio tech in the army and started me in radio. I work with my dad at a couple of radio stations in SOCAL. I started taking electronics in hi school, went on to get my masters degree in electronics. I had continued my education in the army like my father. Later in life, I became a chief radio engineer for Kenwood and working later with various radio and television stations in SOCAL. It's just mind boggling that people will believe someone like Timmy thinking their radio is now a big strapping professional CB. You would think these people would look at buying a real ham radio for half of what they spend on a cb. If your real a radio enthusiast, get yourself a real radio. If all you want to do is waist your money on pretty pink lights and fuck with each other when skip rolls in, go ahead and send me your life savings and I'll feed you all the bullshit you want to hear.
