The point is that you as our own people sold us to the Europeans and Asians. So stop trying to make excuses for your actions. You sold your people to the Europeans and Asians without impunity. You even said when the Europeans stop buying slaves from you that if these people stop buying slaves, it would cause some type of afxiation in your way of living.

Hell YEAH! They did! They sold their own people for meager commodities for almost absolutely nothing. I even heard that it was an African tribal leader that sold fifty slaves for an umbrella. Even queen NZINGA sold her people to the Portuguese yet people act as though she did a lot for her people.

Yes, they were Black. The logic of a racist mind can be encapsulated with this one observation: They will say Ancient Egyptians are not Black, but then turn around and call Obama a Black man!

Before the middle of the 19th century Africa had the reputation of being the white man's grave. Malaria and yellow fever killed large numbers of Europeans even though they bought slaves and left as quick as possible.

The starting point of the so called slave trade was the European Invasion of the Americas then their their mass murder of the natives then their demand for slave labour they set up the slave labour camps and built the human trafficking ships also encourage conflict between African peoples to get captives. Africans did not sell " their own" anymore than the ancient Greeks Romans Vikings Turks etc sold "their own" " fellow " Europeans. They did not identify as the same. Also just as many Africans opposed the " slave trade" as colluded with it which has been conveniently forgotten.

Though I hope some Afrocentrists, especially some African Americans who knows squat about the historical conflicts between different African groups, should understand that Africa was NEVER a united Utopian country run by black people.

Africans were routinely driven to death when captured and transported, and subjected to human sacrifice ( in Dahomey in particular.) Context matters ?

There is nothing complicated, the strong enslaved the weak until the 19 century, and the US traded in slaves nearly 100 years after Europe, the abolition movements started in Europe, look at the dates for once, and Africa still has slavery, cannibalism, child soldiers, genital mutilation, and so on. FIX YOUR CONTINENT.

Obama’s father was a scamming green card chasing Kenyan that abandoned his son at an early age, this man is no one to celebrate, Obama as president never did anything for Africa and refused to lift any of the terrible sanctions that was killing African countries, he was also very weak as president and the white people control him and never tried to do anything for Black Americans and we were a big help in electing him Twice, it was a big mistake by Black Americans to support this guy, what a holy mess is his father, just a weak scammer, this explains why Obama as president never did anything for Africans or Black Americans he carries strong anti-Blackness, what a terrible mistake we as Black Americans made in supporting him, Barack Obama should have gotten Therapy long ago, we as Black Americans didn’t do our research on this guy what a terrible mistake we made

This guy is trying to make a difference to African slave trade and American slavery, this is nonsense, Africans sold their own for “Shinny things “ period and nothing is worse, this is a weak attempt to excuse Africans, the slave trade went on hundreds and thousands of years with the participation of Africans

The Africans who enslaved people also sacrificed them. For example when a chief died they would sacrifice a slave. I don’t know how much rights slaves in Africa had when they could be sacrificed. Slavery is horrible any way you look at it. The slave trade in Africa was going on forever back to the Egyptian era.

  • @GloBoyLoLo

Africans didnt practice chattel slavery. Their form of slavery usually lasted for a select amount of time. No rape or constant oppression. Most slaves that were sacrificed were usually felons or committed some form of treason (usually)

The Africans were enslaving their own people for 800 to 900 years before the Europeans arrived in Africa. The word slave is an African word describing the white Slavic people the Africans enslaved as well as 1.5 million other Europeans enslaved by the Africans.

There was a vibrant slave trade across Africa because of trade and war. The trade routes going west into Arabia and India, with the west being much older. It does not require much deep research to uncover it, but we should not make the correlation that slavery is a God-made or ordained institution, but he gave us a pass. The channel creator made such a wonderful presentation that was clear and to the point. Thank you, sir.

I don't even know why this is a Question. White people refuse to acknowledge that what they are seeing in Egypt was created by black people. They're so envious because they have nothing to compare. And that's the problem.

Absolutely true, but they keep on blaming other nations especially the Arabs. They dont know that the Westerners used propaganda to blame the Arabs to cover their sins. They wanted only them to trade in slaves because it was the most profitable business at the time.

People didn't look at it like that back then. There was no "African" or "Asian" or "European" back then..only tribes. Enemies & allies. In today's terms, yes, they sold their own people. But in ancient terms, they sold members of a rival tribe who spoke a total different language with totally different customs aka an "enemy" to the well being of their tribe/society. (Excluding the villages/tribes that actually were kidnapped, which was the minority of Africans captured during the Slave Trade.)

The image of the four people of the world from the tomb of Seti is actually an artist rendition of a very damaged wall painting, they aren't REAL. The syrian and the libyan are both fake, especially the Syrian, there are some images that appear like the libyan however, they are nowhere near that white, the ones that are that white you can clearly see on google are just damaged beyond recognition.

There is so much to say but firstly there was no such thing as an African. An African person is a western construct. Africa was divided by tribes or ethnic groups. So you are either an indigenous person of this or that ethnic group. People were sold for all kinds of reasons in the internal markets and or as prisoners of war. There was no love lost between the sold and the sellers. As for the argument that the collusion between locals traders and buyers and agents when it did happen was on a minuscule scale is disingenuous to say the least. A trade which dislodged millions of people over hundred of years can never be described as minuscule. It would have taken a tremendous number of people engaged in the process to service such huge swathe of people taken from the African continent. Well the wickedness is still happening today in 5 African countries slavery is still being practiced today and people are still selling others inside Africa and in other parts of the world.

  • @TyrellMcK

Yeah. From different tribes and kingdoms. Africa does not have one people. Westerners push this narrative like the entire continent is one group of people when it isn’t. They’ll say “selling your own people,” while never using that logic with their own. When Germany attacked various region of Europe, no one said they attacked their own people. When Japan attacked China, no one said they attacked their own people. And there version of slavery was that racial superiority psycho shit.

Yes, of course they did, with the primary transactions with Europeans. “Roots” depiction of white Europeans rounding up africans for slavery is pure fiction, they traded with Africans who rounded up their “countrymen.”. However, Arabs went in directly and raided African communities for slaves. The Arabs actually took more slaves than Europeans and very few African slaves survived captivity under the Arabs, with virtually no reproduction.

Continental Africans, and The diaspora Africans this is how we, also got their Abrahamic religions. Read Letters to a Portuguese King! The Kongo was the first to fall first, because it was the largest! Letters to the King of Portugal by Nzinga Mbemba (Afonso I)* Sir, Your Highness should know how our Kingdom is being lost in so many ways that it is convenient to provide for the necessary remedy, since this is caused by the excessive freedom given by your agents and officials to the men and merchants who are allowed to come to this Kingdom to set up shops with goods and many things which have been prohibited by us, and which they spread throughout our Kingdoms and Domains in such an abundance that many of our vassals, whom we had in obedience, do not comply because they have the things in greater abundance than we ourselves; and it was with these things that we had them content and subjected under our vassalage and jurisdiction, so it is doing a great harm not only to the service of God, but the security and peace of our Kingdoms and State as well. And we cannot reckon how great the damage is, since the mentioned merchants are taking every day our natives, sons of the land and the sons of our noblemen and vassals and our relatives, because the thieves and men of bad conscience grab them wishing to have the things and wares of this Kingdom which they are ambitious of; they grab them and get them to be sold; and so great, Sir, is the corruption and licentiousness that our country is being completely depopulated, and Your Highness should not agree with this nor accept it as in your service. And to avoid it we need from those (your) Kingdoms no more than some priests and a few people to reach in schools, and no other goods except wine and flour for the holy sacrament. That is why we beg of Your Highness to help and assist us in this matter, commanding your factors that they should not send here either merchants or wares, because it is our will that in these Kingdoms there should not be any trade of slaves nor outlet for them. Concerning what is referred [to] above, again we beg of Your Highness to agree with it, since otherwise we cannot remedy such an obvious damage. Pray Our Lord in His mercy to have Your Highness under His guard and let you do forever the things of His service. I kiss your hands many times. . . . (At our town of Kongo, written on the sixth day of July in 1526.)

We must understand Tribalism! They sold their enemies… If you don’t if you don’t understand Tribalism, and how many tribes there are in Africa…. It’s over 3k tribes, speaking over 2k languages, and the same with culture, so they saw themselves as different, but we in the diaspora see ourselves as one people, because the Portuguese intentionally mixed the tribes together, so they couldn’t communicate with each other, in order to prevent an uprising on the ships, until they were forced to find common words, so they could communicate with each other… This is why the drum, and dancing on the plantations were outlawed, because it was a common language!
