Simple and easy to do 👍👍👍 I'm no carp angler but i would imagine that the cost of carp baits etc... is bloomin expensive ??? Why more anglers don't prepare their own baits is beyond me !!!

Soak the maize for 3 days, and cook for 30 minutes. Add corn steep or caramel before and after boiling.

Good video thanks. I was speaking to an old bloke who told me about this but wouldn’t say what the starter was. He said corn syrup not sugar. Could I do this in a larger fermentation bucket with a heat band? Or can you over ferment it? Will it turn to alcohol?

Can you freeze it after it fermented and it works as well?

Keep it cool place (I keep it in the cellar, at all-time 12°C), stir it sometimes, and do not ferment it over. I've got a 1-year-old bucket of corn in good condition.

@@syms85 I didn't try yet, but I think can change the consistencies of the corn seeds.

What would happen if you left it in a warm place?

butyric acid fermentation can start and the whole thing can rot

Thankyou for replying. My way of thinking was just to create the juice which i can then soak my hookbaits in. I understand that the fermentation process can be reactivated by adding sacharin to begin the process over and over again. To cut a long story short i soaked chick peas in my shed it was very warm and i forgot about them in just water,3 weeks later i couldnt get near the bucket for smell but eventually after being brave i took some of the juice fishing and i had the most amazing day catch wise. To this day i have never repeated this process 30 years after my mistake all it was,was chick peas slime. Yuk! 👍

@ homemade fishing baits I think im right in saying that you boil the bait to use as feed but isnt necessary to create the fermentation process as sugar is added at the beggining and a little yeast helps. It is always a good idea to reactivate the mixture with sacharin after a period of time as the fish are attracted to the live bacteria during the fermentation process not so much after.

@@robertwren8878 Yes, butyric acid fermentation can even be more effective, but at the expense of the smell :) Congrats!!!!

@@robertwren8878 You're right, but after cooking, fermentation takes place faster, you don't have to wait for the seeds to soften. As far as I know, hard corn should not be fed to carp, they cannot digest it properly and may even die. At least I'm thinking about the other uncaught fish :)
