I have struggled with it since childhood and anytime I go to hairstylists to weave or braid my hair and they ask me about the bald areas......I just tell them my previous braids were too tight because I usually pull the front part of my hair....I didn't really know it was a thing let alone an OCD type disorder

Thanks for your story. I’ve been pulling since I was 12 and I’m 64 now! I was able to stop for 10 yrs, but started back 5 yrs ago when my mom died. Have you ever tried NAC, it’s a supplement specifically for this?

Your black hair was stunning on you. No need to change your look.. you are beautiful just the way you are. If you felt the need for a change and it makes you happy, then by all means do it. But since you opened talking about the biotin shampoo and conditioner and raved about what it did for your hair… and then hid your hair under that wig… makes me think ‘hmmm was the combo even that good??’ 😅I hope you appreciate how naturally beautiful you already were

I’m part of the small wallet club too. This was a fun one. Love to see people’s personalities in their bag contents. You know, fun things that are you. Not just a bag full of LV SLGs.

I pull and like to get the hair in my mouth it is so satisfying and also disgusting but most of the time I can't stop. Also I get shocked every time I see how much hair I pulled out. Sometimes it helps me to brush it and put it in a ponytail or do something else with my hands. I think the cause is often stress, anxiety or procrastinating. :/ I remember when I was a kid I did it without knowing at someones house when I was there for a visit and someone said to me "Can you please stop putting your hair all over the floor" I felt so embarrassed.

Hi Danna, Looks like a lovely eye liner. For me the best liquid eyeliner bare none is the Tom Ford double ended one. It is fantastic but only comes in Deep, a black one. A brown would be fantastic. But I want to try this one especially since the Sephora ale is still on.

I've been suffering from this since 13 years of age and I am now 55 and still suffer from it... sometimes I stay up all night pulling my hair until I'm exhausted. I've grayed prematurely in the spots that I pull. If I wear hair extensions, it helps because I can't get to the hair

I also have this compulsion. Did you thought about pulling your hair up in a ponytail or wearing a headband or a wig? For me a ponytail sometimes helps. Another advice is to do something with your hands when you get the urge.❤

I started doing this when I was 5 or 6. I only pull the hair in my cowlicks. I don't pull the hairs out, but i usually twirl it into knots and sometimes they snap. I noticed it's usually triggered by stress or boredom. Watching TV or reading I'll do it for hours. Since I only do the cowlicks the bald spot isn't really noticeable, but I learned to cut my own hair because I feel like the barber will see it and think I'm a freak..lol

I have trichotillomania, and once i went to the hairdresser (This was at the beginning) and the hairdresser Got worried that i had a disease or something, but i didn’t know there was something called trichotillomania, so i didnt want to tell her i was pulling it out myself (i was 14 at the time). Now im 15 and have recently stoppes pulling, by using an app called “days since” as a motivation to stop. Everytime you pull you have to reset it so it makes you want to keep beating your records and Now im at 17 days fred of pulling and i am so happy!!!

Started when I was in the 7th grade. I am 59 years young now and still have this issue. Just learning not to stress about it anymore because I still love me regardless 😌 It is not about what is happening to me on the outside but not letting it affect me on the inside. For whatever reason this happened to me and I am learning to be more stronger... And I am 😍 loved.

I eat the root of the strand I pull out. I’ve been pulling my hair for almost 24 years now. I shave my head but as soon as it grows in, it’s back to the bullshit. I’m tired at this point.

What a great review of this bag, super informative 👍🙂 This bag is really cute and it give off a sporty vibe, I got mine in black leather and in purchased another separate Marc Jacobs strap to go with it. Maybe I’ll be getting a canvas one as well one day, if I happen to really enjoy the leather one. I still haven’t received the bag but I’m dying to! 😃you are so pretty 😍 I love your haircut!

Thank you so much for talking about this issue. I've been struggling with trich for a year and a half now, and I'm grateful I'm not alone. The longest I've gone with out pulling my hair since I started in 2021 is one month. Hopefully you and I can break the cycle! Thanks for the tips on how to stop!

Literally same bro. What helped me was shaving my head. But I pulled out 1 to 5 strands and play with them, like I would wrap them around my fingers and break the strands. I do it when I to was either just sitting there doing nothing, driving, watching a movie, etc. I'm thankful I didn't stick to one spot, I kinda danced around my head.

Every time I try to stop pulling my hair, I find myself pulling more to the point where I have bald spots in the front and back of my head. I am sad and devastated. Every person I relate to, I tell them about my hair, they leave me. I have lost hope in life.💔💔💔💔💔😭

I love how you explained this I havent been dignosed with this but I have most symptoms. I started pulling my hair once 6th grade ended. It was never that bad in the beginning of 7th grade in till now... I wear a headband and now it's getting worse... People are starting to notice it with the headband. I want to explain it to them but im scared they wont understand. I hate going to school now cuz I hate the feeling of being talked about and when I do explain what it is and how I might have this I tend to get emotional. I dont notice me picking my hair. I put my hair in my mouth and then I notice ive been picking on my hair. I have a big bald spot on the top of my head, and theres a pattern that goes all around my head. I call it "The Headband" because I have a bald spot going all around my head forming a circle around my whole head. I can hide it, but only with a headband. My headband slip out sometimes and I fix it as fast as I can. But two boys in my class noticed it and in scared if they are going to tell everyone. I dont wanna get bullied... (I'm 12 btw) I hope you are successfully fighting through it. -sorry if this is to much to read. I feel like im more stressed because its effecting my social life. [Kinda just vented]
