Thank you so much for this! I just made a miniature mockup of a hood just like the one you showed, and quickly learned that I really wasn't good at gores. Now to do some practice before I get started on the real thing! :D I especially love you emphasis on reinforcing the point

I’m in the Houston area, and as a queer Heathen Witch, I can empathize with your feelings towards Texas’ heat and politics ONE THOUSAND PERCENT, lol. Your channel never fails to lift my spirits watching you empower yourself through fashion. I really loved the red and white stays/bodies (?) you were sewing in at one point of the video. Do you have a video in which you showcase their construction? I’d love to see it. I hope you get much wear and enjoyment out of these pieces. Happy Pride Month 🏳️‍🌈

Lovely reaction ..."I don't wanna seam rip this and ruffle it again... congrats, you get to be a French seam now!" And I am totally using that parallelogram tube trick next time I need to make bias tape! Brilliant! though I probably want to adjust it for lefthanded cutting.

I didn't know there was a name for embroidering with counting threads, and one without; I designed and embroidered a geometric pattern on red linen and used a tablet on max brightness and turning off after 10 minutes as a backlight to make counting easier (this was probably not healthy for my eyes). I've never seen a frame like that either, I watched you set it up with a dropped jaw because that's genius!! I don't know much about embroidery at all, school only taught the kind you sew on the special fabric with gaps so I've been adapting what I know from there and generally making things up. I've never found a place that sold linen by weights, I tend to find stuff by touch and thus started a headscarf project with too heavy linen. I wonder if I can somehow repurpose that large square...

Very wearable in 35c heat and attractive with a brilliant save there. We had that here, way up north in nova Scotia this week with humidity makeing it feel like 44c. I stayed inside and made viking clothes for my 22 month old granddaughter for the july 1st camping event because she has out grown everything she had. And mom has a new management job. I had fun exploring the embroidery stitches on my machine. I am drinking Perrier with lime.

I enjoy your videos so much. Your reveals are always so nice to watch. I admire your sewing, filming, and how you get the drape and movement to be so *aesthetic* Water with unintentional milk for my beverage of the moment.(pragmatism) My take away lesson: Think & look before pouring more water into a "random" vessel. I, also, have a summer that is harsher than I can enjoy (not every day, but, still unpleasant). I yearn for protective lightweight wear, but, don't seem to prioritize it.

  • @OpusElenae

  • @OpusElenae

This is a documentation of a project, not a tutorial video; a lighter color would not have worked for the coat this trim was woven for. Thats also why I didn’t cut the wrong warping, it’s important to show that even time consuming mistakes can be fixed.
