It was Christmas 1966, and in Loppiano, a few kilometres from Florence, Chiara Lubich gave a group of girls an unusual gift, a green drum set. Everything about those girls spoke of multiculturalism, openness and a desire for change. That drum set became the symbol of a revolution in which music and shared talents are privileged tools to contribute to a more united and fraternal world.
This is how Gen Verde was born and the group continues to witness with commitment, determination and professionalism that humanity still has a chance to choose peace instead of war, to build bridges instead of walls and to propose dialogue instead of intolerance.
For over 50 years Gen Verde have been touring the world with more than 1500 shows, events and concerts.
