Malik Idrissou

Hi, I'm a Second Generation American raised by West African immigrants from Benin Republic. I love to cycle solo around urban areas and I want to share that experience with the world.

Purpose: To inspire people (esp. Black Men) to enjoy your own company so they can each have a peaceful life.
Vision: I will be cycling solo around urban areas of major cities in the USA.
Goal:
1. Bronx (NYC), Harlem (NYC)

I was born and raised in Brook avenue. 1981. It was hell growing up there. My dad was unfortunately killed there in 1991. Sad shit I've seen growing up there.

RPT and its' sister complex, Waterside Plaza; were both built using Mitchell Lama funds (NYCHA) in the 70's. Within 10 years after being built, both were sold and are now managed by private corps, if memory serves.

I lived there from 1965 to 1972... I was about 7yrs. old when we moved out., and I was heartbroken. It was a WONDERFUL place to live then. It was a REAL COMMUNITY... I lived in the building with its back to the train tracks. Us kids could play outside ALL DAY...! It was a safe place. I have such fond memories of the adventures I had with my friends., and our dad's playing softball in the "Big Grass" where we had picnics. Watching the firework show over Cony Island from on top the Phone booth on our corner. I could write a book with all the cool stories I have of my childhood there... And now it's a dangerous, drug ridden pigsty...
