    Why does Corey always say Polycarp was Modalist like it is a fact when, in fact, his writings from what we have do not suggest that and at the time? Plus, Polycarp didn't even deal with modalists. His arguments were against Gnosticism. Not the nature of God. Corey just always brings this up to try to discredit church History it seems like. I agree that church fathers aren’t perfect and were wrong about some things but he always brings this up like it’s a Trump card when more than Polycarp wasnt OSAS.

    11:45 “I have no need for further revelation." This is one of the main arguments of cesationist thinking. Answer: 1. A child who declares that he knows what he needs, intrinsically takes a rebelious stance towards his parents. He doesn't wait to find out what his parents (who know much more than he does) will give him, he TELLS them what he thinks he needs. I do not presume to know what I need, (although I do make my requests known to the Father), much less do I know what others need. I understand more and more that our knowledge is extremely small. All the people involved here, the speakers, the commenters, we know nothing about the needs of a Muslim in the mountains of Pakistan, or about the cultural constraints that limit ability to perceive the truth in a Italian countryside or in a Russian steppe. We understand things according to our culture and upbringing and everything that surrounds us and that is so vastly different from nation to nation, and from environment to environment, that it is difficult to transmit your understanding to someone else. The assumption that you could simply transmit your understanding in a straight line, is frequently erroneous. Even people in your own culture do not understand what you try to tell them for years sometimes. How much more that is true of different cultures. So, you do NOT know what others need for their eyes to be opened! Only Jesus does. You do NOT know the experiences of others, whether they be dreams, visions or healing. Making a doctrine based on your own lack of experiences is kind of like what Thomas did. If you saw a miracle, then you would believe. If you heard a Muslim who never heard the Bible (because he's not allowed to) tell you what Jesus told him in a dream and it fits the Biblical principles, then you would believe. Experience would change your doctrine. So then your doctrine is based on lack of experience, which can transform into lack of faith. Saying "I have so much faith in the Bible, I don't need to see any miracles", it's fine. I am glad to see you have so much faith. But as a child I would feel uncomfortable with another child, a play buddy, who'd say "I know my dad loves me, so I don't ever need to see him or hold his hand". OK dude. That's just weird. We're still mere humans, and more so children (Matthew 18:3), and the Lord knows that! 2. How often have we heard from pastors on all sides: "the Bible is alive, I've read such and such passage numerous times and yet I still discovered something new in it this time around"? If the Bible still reveals things to us as we grow and study it that means our understanding of it is never complete here. There are passages in the NT I do not understand, but the Bible says that one day we will understand it all. So how can I say today that I need no more revelation when even what is written in the Scripture is not completely understood? So if the Bible speaks to a person in a way that it doesn't to another, giving that person a private revelation in a sense, isn't that a way in which the Holy Spirit speaks to that believer? Yes. And if you accept that, then why won't you accept that for certain circumstances Jesus may speak to a believer in another way? And of course that any such revelation would not be contradicting the Scriptures! 3. The problem is with people who declare things that contradict the Scriptures. Of course they cannot be from God. But ATBS I believe that we should expect a living relationship with our GOD and not place limits on that relationship. Let God be God and our Father, and let us be the children who will always be joyfully surprised by what He does.

    It’s has nothing to do with contradiction. It can be an earthly language or a spiritual language. Even when we moan and groan, the Holy Spirit makes it a language or expression to God. Language is nothing but sounds and syllables put together to convey a message.

    @@RabbiMurray I read it. It is not inward. If it was inward it wouldn’t be a groan. The same Greek word for groan is used in Acts 7:34. In the Greek alalētos (too deep for words) means unutterable. That means too great, intense, or awful to describe. I by no means am saying that scripture is about tongues. What I am saying is if He can do this, then He could do that.

Never did God nor angels speak in some other language nor needed to. The Spirit doesnt need to speak yo intercede for us since God knows the mind of the Spirit for they are One.

    John Cooper and his band are deceiving themselves thinking they can be unequally yoked with unbelievers and be witnesses for Christ! We are told to have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, not to go on tour with bands that openly curse, and blasphemy Jesus Christ, and worship and promote Satan in their music, their speech, and the way they live! John and his band are leading countless immature young people who have turned to Jesus in a false Christianity, and worship of a false idol they call Jesus, that they have made to themselves out of their own thoughts and imaginations! Not the righteous, holy God of the Bible, but a god who says do what thy will! A god that don’t require holiness, and doesn’t command us to be separated unto him, and be not conformed to the world. The god they serve and promote by their compromise is the god that appears as an angel of light, and has made Skillet to appear as ministers of righteousness, as they lead you right to hell! Repent people of your idolatry in following these imposters!

Never do you see an angel speaking in a Angelic special language. You cannot have interpretation when it's not a real language. And again UNBIBLICAL to say there is an Angelic language, when no where in the bible does it show or speak of a thing.

    I’ve been to plenty of churches that practice tongues with interpretation. I’ve also seen it on tv and online. You need to broaden what you watch and not just the so called popular ministries. Also there are different types of tongues: public and private. There isn’t a general rule for both. It’s conditional.

  • @RabbiMurray

    Where are the private ones in the Bible

  • @Bncnj
    @BncnjСағат бұрын

    @@RabbiMurray if you read it in the right context you can plainly see that (public) tongues used for conveying a message to edify the body. That must have an interpretation ( 1 Corinthians 14:27-28). The personal/private tongues are used for glorifying God and speaking to Him. This edifies the speaker. We don’t need interpretation for this, but should ask the Holy Spirit for the interpretation (1 Corinthians 14:2-4, 14-17). It’s obvious that different types of tongues are being explained because of the different conditions Paul sets. If not, Paul would be contradicting himself. private/public is implied in the scriptures. The word trinity is not in the Bible, but we can see it in the Bible.
