What you said is true, insightful, and valuable. However, they bill themselves as thought or vision leaders and not necessarily tactical leaders. In your defense, society often puts too much value on those who inspire than those who encourage( on an individual level), roll up their sleeves, and do the work.

  • @GroUp512

That’s actually a great question! I don’t have an alternative to the platform. It’s more an issue of the authenticity of the content that is rehashed. What’s ridiculous is even saying to “be authentic” has become cringey. I just wish people would speak plainly. But maybe I’m crazy

But look at who's inundating your LinkedIn feed with useless posts. It's usually either sales, marketing, or self actualization (career) and self-promoting related content. The odds of seeing a neurosurgeon or astrophysicist posting something in order to garner attention are slim to none. And this speaks volumes as to what drives LinkedIn. LinkedIn is nothing more than a cesspool of low-value resume embellishment characters, predatory sales-marketing, and glorified a$$-kissers. That's it. LikedIn is tantamount to putting a fancy form of digital lipstick on a pig.

Most people in positions of authority are more concerned with barking orders than they are with bringing out the best in their team. They don't set an example. They don't instill confidence. They demand, but don't command respect. They want their misters and sirs, but haven't earned them. They treat initiative these days the same as insubordination. They're not interested in hearing their employees ideas. They want them to shut up and do as they're told. They don't want to lead. They want to rule.

Managerial leadership is gone, forever & sadly will never return. It takes work, but mostly a vested interest in your employees to attain what you've just stated. "Ain't nobody got time fo dat!" The great exodus of workers leaving their jobs proves this. Sooo glad i'm retired now. Carry on.

I had a manager who was incredibly incompetent even though I had years of experience and what I have done and the knowledge and know how that manager would ask me to do some really stupid things they did not compromise my safety so me and my coworkers did what we were asked and when they backfire we told even higher management we're just doing what our boss was telling us not questioning orders and I told the higher up if you made one of us manager none of this would ever happen that manager got fired and one of my co-worker who been there longer than me got the management position and we finally have someone who know what they're doing and the much higher up are very happy because they no longer getting screw up that cost the company a lot of money now they're saving quite a bit of money because they finally made the right person in the manager

And the first times i had to held accountable, corrective actions up to termination they have accepted it (when comming in to my team, they rejected, disputed corrective actions....etc.) I have learned through observing other leaders that quiet sanctions, fireing only leads to that mate to work against you, team, and proyect.

Sounds like you’ve had some terrible work experiences. I agree, if you have ineffective managers and management systems, performance reviews are a joke. If you have subjective evaluation and office politics at work, you can remove the performance reviews and the subjectivity and politics remain. The people running the place are the problem, not performance reviews. All my videos are striving to change this.
