Thaks for the video but i have a question, i can use that option PA if i dont see the polar star
Thanks! I’m glad that you liked the video. The PA function needs clear access to Polaris. If you have any obstructions, it’s better to use the All Sky Polar Alignment function of ASIAIR. Cheers!!
Az-Gti-X has an Alt/Az or Eq option in the software now.
That’s good to know. Thanks for the update. Cheers!!
Great video - Sir.
Thanks!! I’m glad you liked it. Cheers!!
I’ve been eyeballing this scope, do you think the SA-GTI could handle the load?
Probably not. The entire setup of GT71 is much more than GTi can handle. Thanks for watching. Cheers!!
Thank you for this video. I just got an Edge 8 HD plus a AVX mount and a bunch of goodies for a truly amazing deal. So I have an almost identical setup, same telescope and camera, guide scope and guide camera, but I'm using an EQR6-PRO. I also just ordered the .7 focal reducer. I'm just now realizing that I will need a filter drawer for my dual band 2 inch filter. (This is an expensive hobby!) Are you still using the Svbony guide scope with your Edge 8 HD? I've heard people get better results with OAG, so I was considering that, but wanted to hear from others too. All of your videos have been great. Thanks again! Aaron in Minnesota.
Congratulations on purchase of the new Astro gear. This is probably the best for planets and small galaxies. I didn’t use the SV Bony guidescope much because of its weight. My AVX mount is limited to only 30 lbs. I was thinking of getting either EQ6R-Pro or ZWO AM5. But things changed drastically and I’m not able to wake up at nights for Astro imaging for the time being. Good luck with your new setup. I’m sure you will enjoy it a lot. And yes, it’s an expensive hobby without any doubt. Cheers!!
What gain and offset would you suggest to use to start with? 101 and 50?
That’s right. 100 is the recommended gain for ASI533MC Pro. Cheers!!
If I am aligning the scope with the intent to do lunar imaging, do you recommend aligning with an eyepiece first, then attaching the planetary camera after the target (the moon) has been centered in the eyepiece? Thank you for your reply.
Thanks for watching! Rough alignment with eyepiece in the beginning is definitely helpful. Cheers!!
Which Celestron 8" dovetail bar did you use. I have a Celestron EdgeHD 8 OTA - 8" f/10 Aplanatic SCT OTA scope. Could you add a link? Thank you
Thanks for watching! I don’t have the specific link for dovetail bar. But you can search the Celestron.com website for EdgeHd 8 dovetail. You will quickly find it there. Alternatively, you may call your local telescope equipment dealer to find it. Cheers!!
@@AstroCrescent Thank you
What is the great”er’ advantage in EQ mode? AZ can also take photos… is it the max exposers time before jitter or that you can’t start track/plate resolve in AZ? It’s a GpTo mount should it not drive well enough
Thanks for watching! That is an interesting question. Of course, AZ mounts can also take pictures. The EQ mode definitely has its own advantages; that’s why most astrophotographers use EQ mode. Can’t specifically mention the advantages here. I would suggest that you watch some videos on this topic. Cheers!!
I see you have a filter flattener, and I believe without a spacer between the camera and the EFW you will have back-focus issue. Thanks for the video.
Thanks! I’m glad you liked the video. Cheers!!
In the live stacking function I’m getting a fault after running my calibration frames. It says bias frames don’t match light frames. Any idea what the problem is? Thanks for your videos, they help me very much.
Thanks! I’m glad that the video is helpful. For the error you are getting, it’s difficult to say anything without the details of your calibration frame settings. Try changing them and then check…Cheers!!
Hey! The MAST website now has over 350 files available for download for JWST's Carina Nebula. Which ones are most important?
Thanks for asking! You need only the files which are shown/mentioned in the video. Cheers!!
Just a brilliant explanation, many thanks.
Thank YOU for watching!! I’m glad that the video is helpful. Cheers!!
Excellent! Thanks I am getting the same guide scope but the 50mm for my Celestron SE 6 telescope. This was very educational because most people go so fast it's impossible to understand anything they're saying and you just can't get nothing out of it. 😊
Thanks! I’m glad you liked the video. All the best with your SE 6 with SVBony guide scope. Clear Skies!!
Thank you for the video! I was wondering what guiding RMS were you able to get. I have. Similar setup but struggling with guiding error. Did you setup your AVX on grass or use foot vibration dampeners? Great photo. Cheers
Thanks for watching! I’m glad you liked the video. This particular setup was about 2 years back. So, I don’t really remember the settings on my ASIAIR. I don’t use any vibration pads as the tripod is on concrete floor (and not on grass). Cheers!!
Great video Logan. Interesting concepts. You are either a genius, or you a reading from an autocue. Lol. Haven't heard from you for a while. Hope all is okay? CS Don
Thanks Don! Everything is fine. It’s just the early morning job schedule that doesn’t allow me to stay awake during nights for Astrophotography. Hopefully things will change soon! Cheers!!
I have the AZGO mount but been having problems with it
Thanks for watching! I’m not sure what problems. You are facing with your mount. You might want to get technical support from the manufacturer. Cheers!!
Great video. Thank you so much!
Thanks! I’m glad you liked it. Cheers!!
Thank you very much for this video which helped me greatly.
Thanks for watching! I’m glad that the video is helpful. Cheers!!
Hi Astro Cresent please help :) if I use azgti in eq mode, at the beginning do I need to align it to 2 or 3 stars in SynScan? and then turn on AsiAir on the eqmode cable and align it to the polar star? Will the goto hit the target in AsiAir then?
Hi Paul, if you do one star or two star alignment, it does help. But ASIAIR, doesn’t necessarily need it. Just make sure that the mount is roughly pointing towards Polaris when you start the process. Hope this helps. Once the polar alignment is done, you can send the mount to any target. Hope this helps. Cheers!!
What kind of L brackets were those?
Thanks for watching! These are simple construction brackets for 2x4 studs. I guess they are branded as “Simpson String Tie” at Home Depot.
@@AstroCrescent Got it, thanks. I like that you used those L-brackets and joist hangers. I've watched probably a dozen or so videos for building a shelf, and this was the first I've seen them used.
Thanks for this video. I am considering buying this to do casual observation, and maybe planetary imaging. My question is can it be used for planetary imaging (and lunar for that matter) without attaching the equatorial wedge? And if so, what software can be used with it to accomplish this without too much fuss? Thanks again.
Thanks for watching! This little scope is too small for moon or planets. You need larger aperture in the range of 130mm to 200mm or more. And that means you need a heavy duty mount as well. Cheers!!
@@AstroCrescent Sorry, I was referring to the mount, not the telescope.
This mount has a payload capacity of only 11 lbs (about 5 kg). You need to see if the weight of the scope and accessories (camera, etc) are within this limit. Cheers!!
Well that doesnt work. I get some daft error: “ASIStudio” cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified.
Follow up for anyone else with this problem. Hold control then click and choose open from the menu, this allows you to bypass the security warning and open anyway. What a silly thing.
Thanks! Glad that you found a solution. It’s more of the operating system than the ASIAIR itself! Cheers!!
@@AstroCrescent I'm not so sure about that. Either they didn't apply for certification or got refused... maybe because the software is buggy. I just did a test capture 10 frames on an avi, and the processed image is offset leaving a black band along the top and down the side... 🙄. Sending them an email. Failing that I'll install the PC verson on my other laptop. Stupid when stuff like this happens.
Maybe your ASIAIR needs a software update. A quick call to ZWO might be helpful.
Great and very informative video !
Thanks! I’m glad that you found the video helpful. Cheers!!
Hi Astro Cresent, very nice video And i have a question, will the Celestron Power Tank 73.3 WH be enough to use ASIAIR Mini and the ZWO ASI 120mm Mini? i use batteries to power the AZ-GTi
I think so. Yes, if you use it only for these two devices. Thanks for your kind words of appreciation. Cheers!!
Hi and perfect. That’s what i needed to know. Thanks for your video - Helped
You are very welcome. Cheers!!
Hi and thanks. What about the Master Bias, Darks, and Flats as you licked the Lights? You shot those before, does it save Masters too?
Yes. Both masters as well as individual fits files are saved on ASIAIR. You can use masters immediately and then copy and use individual FITS files on your computer if you want to use a different stacking software. Cheers!!
Nice video, Thank You. 2 questions; 1. I noticed when you set up images, you took flats, bias, and dark frames before and used the masters. How do you create the masters? 2. Even though the ASI air stacked your images if you wanted to, could you take the individual fit files and stack them and PixInsight if you wanted to?
Thanks! Asiair also saves individual calibration frames as fits files in its memory. This is in addition to the master stacked frame that you can use immediately for Live Stacking. Hope this helps. Cheers!!
Nice job! I am new to ZWO and have a question. How do you tell AAP to create master darks, flats, and bias? I see how you used them and how to do them, but don't understand how to set AAP to create the Masters. Thank You and Clear Sky's
Thanks! I’m glad that the video is helpful. Taking calibration frames with ASIAIR is super easy. Just select the required frames and follow the prompts. I would suggest that you watch some detailed video on how to set the timings for these frames. Cheers!!
Thank you so much for this video! I have not had a working system for months because I couldn't figure out how to set this up!
Thanks! I’m glad that the video is helpful. Clear Skies!!
Good information~ Can I ask question? Can I only use car battery cigar cable ? If It supply the continuous 12V power, occur some problem? Example, front glass break because of continuous heating? I dont know. Please, reply. Thanks.
Thanks for watching! I’m glad you liked the video. There no problem in using the car cigarette lighter adapter cable. The scope glass (lens) doesn’t break due to limited heat produced by the dew heater ring. Cheers!!
Hi. Nice vid. What’s your setting on the field flattener? I could not get good stars like yours.
I notice you couldn't help smiling😊 all through the video. Enjoy
Cheers!!
Very nice indeed, your pictures are amazing 👏. Hopefully, I will watch your videos more to learn about astrophotography. I'm very new to this exciting hobby.
Thanks a lot! Appreciate your kind words. I’m glad that the video is helpful. Clear Skies!!
Great, simple, easy to follow instructions!👍
Thanks! I’m glad you liked the video. Cheers!!
Can the Az-Gti be used as Alt-Az mount with the ASIAIR?
Thanks for asking! Yes, of course. Cheers!!
Sir where to buy the eaf in India?
Thanks for asking. But I am in Canada. No idea about telescope dealers in India. You might want to search for such dealerships close to your location in India. Wish you All the best!
I just ordered this camera. Can you tell what is Dark, flat and dark-flat images, how to shoot them? I ordered Antlia D1 + D2 filters.
Thanks for watching! Dark, Flat and Dark-flat frames are used to take care of imperfections in camera equipment and opticals. With cooled cameras like ASI533MC Pro, you will probably not need dark frames. Cheers!!
Thank you! I found the user manual extremely confusing. Following your video, I was able to set it up without any issues. ❤
Thanks! I’m glad that the video was helpful. Cheers!!!
Just planning to try my new ASIAIR for the first time from my balcony I cannot see the polaris by about 10cm because of a roof :D So will be trying to day, thanks so much for the video :)
Thanks! All the best for your trial of ASIAIR!! Hope all goes well! Clear skies!!
Recently i bought with 8se ,very easy and simple video to install. Thank you so much.
Thank you! Congratulations on your new purchase. I’m sure you will enjoy it a lot this summer. Cheers!!
One last question before buying ZWO ASIAIR Mini. Can ZWO ASIAIR Mini control avx mount wirelessly? Do I need eaf control for Focuser for that ?
Yes. The wireless range is about 60 feet from the Wi-Fi router. Having an ear is a definite addition to your scope. Cheers!!
Thank you for another informative video. I really appreciate the thoroughness and walk-through of solving the little problems like attachments, etc.. It always seems to be the little problems that create big headaches!
Thanks!! I’m glad that you liked the video. Cheers!!
the star haloing on the sadr star from the optolong L extreme is an eyesore.
That’s true. Thanks for watching!
Hi, for me meridian flip doesnt work. I am using ASIAIR to control the mount in wifi mode via synscan. Could you please tell me if there may be any setting which I might be missing.
Thanks for watching! I myself didn’t try. The meridian flip with Sky-Watcher mount. Can’t csst anything without knowing the details of your settings. In addition to mount and ASIAIR settings, Meridian flip also depends on your location and time of the year you are imaging. Cheers!!
thank you so much
@ank0204raj You are very welcome!!

This is very helpful. Thank you so much for posting this information. What is the difference between the Go To function and the Point and Go function?
Thanks! I’m glad that the video is helpful.
Great and informative video! Thanks for sharing :)
Thanks!! I’m glad that the video is helpful. Cheers!!!
Hello Sir , Can i mount my canon dslr on a ball head mount with this 60mm guide scope ? Or you think it will be too heavy for T ring and ball head ?
Hello, thanks for watching! You really need to give it a try. I can’t say for sure because it never tried this. Cheers!!
