  • @monicarosellini

    Hello, Monica, thanks for sharing this nice technique. The tool you used in the vedio seems to be fantastic. Where I can buy such one so to make consistent size of the wounds?

  • @monicarosellini
    @monicarosellini6 жыл бұрын

    UU Wu i bought it from one of the medax agent in my country, perhaps you should try asking them if they have one in your country, here’s the link : medax.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=85&Itemid=197 But if you didn’t find one, you might want to replace it with another biopsy punch from different brand :D

    thank you so much. Different catalog numbers mean different diameters? so in this case, which diameter you would suggest for wound healing assay on the mice?

    Hello Monica, I am doing the excision wounds in rats (Wistar), but with scalpels and it is being a bit difficult to do a perfect circle. So I think I should try to do with the punch, looks much easier. Besides of that, I would like to know how do you content the rat to do the daily wound measure (I guess you are doing this procedure to verify the cicatrization process), I mean they are wounded on the back and during the measurement they're not anesthesied. Thank you in advance.

  • @monicarosellini
    @monicarosellini6 жыл бұрын

    Fernando hi fernando, first of all thank you for watching my videos, about the wound measurement, i use ruler and dslr camera to measure the wound closing area which later measured by a software called imageJ. During the measurement it can be hard since the rats sometimes moves a lot, because of that we choose to measure it in the morning (because during the day, the rats moves are less active than in the night) and positioning the rat just like how we are going to anasthesized them. otherwise, some rats are calm when they are patted in the head (*´ー`*)

  • @monicarosellini

    Allan Barnes yes, non-lethal, but before the excision the mouse was anasthethized first using ketamine
