    Thanks for the video , I have a windshield already to go and the bigger pegs are a must . But that exhaust sounds great , not to loud , with a nice tone . Questions is the airbox to close in your opinion and should we just wrap it first . And did the jet change make it faster a few miles an hour would make a huge difference. I have 2300 mile on mine . I can consistently on a flat ground with little headwinds achive 62 mph or 100 klmph I have also received the SSS Big Bore Kit which I well install . After a carburetor is sorted and possibly a cam and new head . Turning this great best buck bike into an inexpensive contender for $700 or less . A shame that Honda did not give us the XR190L first . A clear mistake to have good emissions , than all the evap clutter they put on this model.

    I read that the Honda Fresh air pipe was 2 inch ,if that is true I wonder why the 2 inch Fernco was so big that you had to go down to a 2x1-1/2 ro get it snug enough ? I also wonder if you had cut the pipe right past the snap on cover if the OD of the pipe is jarger there than it is where you tied into ?

    This will work but Dont you think that cotting the airbox off then using 2 inch pvc make a snorkel and run it up and using a prefilter like the unifilter will ger even better air being as how that it getting farther away from the wheels where most of the dust is created ?

    Happened to me too and happens quite often to a lot of P5’s. There is a nut in the back that is suppose to be captured between two plastic ribs but it always seem to just spin as the plastic ribs are thin and don’t hold it in place one torque is applied. The trick I did was take a flat edge screwdriver and stuck between the spinning bolt and the Plastic and kept pressure on the bolt to keep it from spinning. You can get a bolt of the nut and pinch it fast to the plastic to keep the nut from spinning too.

    I added the windshield and it’s so much better with it so it’s staying…lol. It actually helps the bike cut through the air by keeping the wind from slamming against me. I’m able to maintain speed better with it than without it! Still get plenty of air around it too!

    I have a Honda XR400R that is street legal. I do most of my riding in dirt, so I wanted something capable, and not KLR heavy. I'm very happy with it. It has a stage 1 Hot Cams, pumper carb, opened exhaust, Ricky Stator kit w/ battery, and a bunch of "nice"ities that I added....switchback lights/blinkers on the barkbusters, LED headlight extra brake lights(one flashes), digital dash, rear rack, heated grips, 2 port USB charger, key, smaller rear sprocket, etc. (Remember, XR400R is a dirt bike, not a dual sport, so I had to add a lot)... I know that the 150 is a street based dual and probably has tires more suited to the pavement than dirt. With that being said, it probably doesn't make much difference to you, but as you go to a more off road tire, you should only use the front brake when "needing" to. It will make the nobs wear funny. Using the rear brake avoids this because the nobs are larger/stiffer, and they get worn from the opposite reaction of acceleration. If I could go to a Honda dealer and pick up that 150 at the MSRP, I would. They mark them up too much for me. A 15-18% mark up is unreasonable to me. Some may argue that; I think that it's horrible.

    Looking for an Atv, have never owned one but a recent trip where I rented one made me fall in love instantly! Looking at this 600 in the touring model, but I also saw the 1000 in their website. I know that means a lot more power, but is it really needed? All I’m doing with it is hopefully hitting some popular trails, not using it for work or for hauling anything. Any input is much appreciated! Thanks

  • @AppalachianMountainRiders
    @AppalachianMountainRiders22 күн бұрын

    The best thing about the 1000 isnt just the power but it has a lot more features too. And the thing I like most about the 1000 is it actually turns! That was my biggest let down with the 600 is the absolutely awful turning radius. One thing to add is the 600 touring is even longer and heavier then the 600 I reviewed so it’s turning radius is going to be worse yet and the heavier chassis is going to make it feel even more sluggish. Actually sounds like the 800 touring might be a good choice for you and a perfect compromise between the 600 and 1000!

  • @AppalachianMountainRiders
    @AppalachianMountainRiders22 күн бұрын

    I rode it around from the lowest to highest. Lowest being the softest setting was the best riding by far but still compared to other machine made it ride like a brick…lol. It is a budget machine with budget quality shocks so it’s expected.

  • @cvseniorful
    @cvseniorful21 күн бұрын

    @@AppalachianMountainRiders I fgiured as much. I would guess they use the same spring and shock combo on their heavier / bigger machines. Doing so would lower their production costs with minimal sacrifice. Since you have access to be able to look, I would be curious to look at the larger machines. It is obvious that you can't totally tell by just looking. But, if they look the same, for the same year, there is a possibility that they are the same. The clutch vibration and turning radius, well those are entirely different beasts.

    If you're looking for one hell of a good work or hunting machine, this is by far the best bang for your buck. It will still make a good trail and mud riding atv if you put a little money into clutch kits and tires. I use my RzR for trail riding and my 23' CForce 500 as my hunting rig. Power steering, winch, usb and 12v plugs. And, it's about 2k cheaper than any other brand that doesn't have the same accessories.

    Great 170 revive video!! Trying to find a youth sxs for 10 year old and seems there arent many options. Are these issues pretty common on these and how do they compare to the newer fuel injection models? Has Polaris upgraded anything or do we just prepare to accept issues with any of the 170 or 200 models? Thanks!

    The 170’s are know for transmissions failures. I haven’t heard much about the newer 200’s but that is the way I would go. Much better suspension and power with them. The kayo 200 don’t seem like bad little SxS’s either but again, I haven’t heard much, good or bad, about them.

    I mean, big deal? The 29 year old Fourtrax 300 that’s been sitting idle in the back of the barn here for probably 24 years could easily fly over those hills. It’s not much of s test. My Hd7 or my Grizzly could both do that while pulling that CF Moto, which has been the norm for every CF Moto that’s been owned in my friend group.
