  In europe we have the Fixed Book Price Law which has been established to protect the cultural asset "book". Which means stores are bound to sell them for the established price at all times, with no discount or deals. Only in USA, UK and swiss don't have that. So yeah, if you don't buy second hand here (in my case germany) then you won't necessary get cheap stuff. Because the book price is the same in every store. But yeah, maybe they did random prices for the english ones who knows...

  Yeah someone did mention that, but the differences in prices for english manga we're different in every shop i visited in the netherlands. Like Henk Comics in Amsterdam was selling delicious in dungeon volumes fro 19.99 euro!!

  The summer you were there for sure! I read it like 2 months ago and still think about it, also kinos journey, she loves to cook she loves to eat, Frieren and apothecary diaries!

  @@lyddiemoon Ooo YES to Kino's Journey! that one is one of a kind even after years I sometimes think about that one. I don't have copies of my own. Maybe I need to rectify that. Apothecary Diaries is an obsession as well [ I do love smart sherlock-esk stories and hard-punch truths the series has] Frieren...I am still not into it I can't understad why. I like slow burn ...I mean Descending Stories (Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju] is slowww and superb. The one with "Sommer" doesn't ring a bell...lets ask google. . Kids on the Slope, I would higly suggest ...yess there is jazz but that is not what makes it good. Ah yes, a new series Tales of the Kingdom [I didn't read the triggers and I sugest not to ...go in blind... but yeah one does know oneself best].

  I’d love to change my desk too, but - in addition to the sides’ setup and the cable management underneath the desk (which would’ve have to be changed if not discarded entirely) - the desk is an old piece of solid wood that weighs like 10 tons and (literally) needs 4 people to be moved around….and I’m not young and fit anymore. 💪💪😄

  @@lyddiemoon Yeah, it very much is. 😌😄 I would’ve liked to buy a IKEA desk (or some other lighter..and less valuable one), but my mother didn’t want to spend money on a new desk when we already had that one - which was my dad’s - and since I live with my parents for financial reasons I had to compromise.

  We used to have manga that were the dollar proce converted to euro bit as the dollar euro rate became weaker several shops had dollar price + 1 and nowadays all shops are around this range for books. I used to buy some manga through bookdepository but that website died 😢, at this point I think that ordering from the uk might be cheaper than buying in nl

  Yeah Netherlands and Belgium seem pretty similar in price. For us scifier is def the best option even after the changes made. On my recent shopping trip i encountered a shop that really went bonkers with their prices. The vinland saga deluxe volume 1 went for €80.

  Yeah, manga in the netherlands is expensive. I exclusively buy online, where I can find nice prices. I have bought from Donner online. It was nice to see their store in your video. I have an event in Ahoy Rotterdam (wwe, wrestling) later in august, so maybe I'll visit them too.

  Dutch manga volumes exist again as Paninini and Tokyopop have been printing Dutch series lately! Yendor doesn't have them but smaller shops like the Stripshop in Leiden has them :) <3

  Because you also adressed the prices so I am curious: for example Solo Leveling vol 8 ist 16€ for German Edition but 20,99€ for English one. How much is in UK? We also don't have 3for1 here.

  The English edition in uk is £15.99 retail price! But if you go to a forbidden international you can get 3 volumes of manga for the price of 2. So you if you bought 3 volumes of solo leveling you’d only pay the price of two meaning the total is £31.98 which means one volume equals to £10.66. So a lot more affordable

  @@lyddiemoon Wow that would be cool if we had somethinhg like that. I usually wait for montly or bi-montly 20% on english books, so like 3-5€ cheaper. But I need to decide if there is no danger for particular book or manga to be out of print in upcoming months you know. Well if I were to read in German it would be less but I tryed and some translations are not to my taste.

  I'm not from the Netherlands, but in Germany imported books are typically more expensive than they are online, probably because it is more expensive to sell books in store than it is to sell them online. Also, German books have a fixed price, so they're probably using the revenue they make on English books to cover other costs. Since Dutch books in the Netherlands also have a fixed price, I assume the same reasons apply for them. Not sure if this applies for the Netherlands; but here you can ask them to match the online price.

  Ohhh wow, i didn't know you could do that! I know there are lots of great titles that are licensed in german which i think is really cool, i saw that german manga prices also seem to alot cheaper than english translated works 😱

  @@lyddiemoon Yeah, german manga are cheaper than english manga, the quality is generally better, colored pages in even the cheapest volumes, and a lot come with some freebie like a postcard or something of that sort.

  Yeah, it can be quite sad how expensive manga volumes are here. Yendor is one of the cheaper places compared to others, but it's still expensive. We sometimes have cheaper volumes on Amazon, but that's about it. We never really have sales except buying them secondhand from others. For online manga shopping, I mostly use Amazon and Archonia. I really wanna go to the UK someday to visit all the book and manga shops to see some sales xD

  Yess you'll have a wonderful time in the UK as we have lots of stores that for get 3 for the price of 2! I also realised Yendor was the least expensive out of all 4 stores i visited during my time in the netherlands and they also had a great selection!

  As someone who lives here, yeah manga prices here are so expensive compared to just ordering online via amazon lol and there’s rarely any sales or offers. Glad you still enjoyed it though!! And had fun over here, erg bedankt!
