Hey; I'm Jack, and this is my Ford Transit Custom Van, Dean (because you've got to name your van, right?!). So, here's the scoop: Jack and Dean are embarking on a grand adventure in 2024, diving headfirst into van life full-time. Sure, Dean and I have hit the road together in 2022, after transforming him from a workman's van into a cozy, livable space. But 2024? That's when we're planning to live in the van full-time - and we'll be documenting every step of the way in what I hope will be an informative and entertaining vlog here on KZread. Stick around for the ride and enjoy every moment of this van life blog!

    You actually got a lot of compliments on that video that you’re talking about. I don’t understand why give the attention to the naysayers rather than except the compliments.

    16:22 - Next week you say?! Hmmm .. why it sounds like a Spanish joke right now - "mañana" that never comes .. anyway I think this "van-lifer" is a bit messed up with his thoughts and actions .. it seems that he has lost his motivation and aim as a "content creator", lol .. pity of course .. the beginning was quite promising 😎

    Damn! I don't understand such negativity when your adventures thru Spain etc were so inspirational. Really enjoyed watching your videos but struggle watching you saying that things are crumbling and that you feel you're failing so perhaps you should jump in the van for a couple of weeks and only captured video memories for yourself as memories only. I think I understand about wanting to progress with YT but it's not the everything in life. There's enough negativity in the world and definitely something I won't follow or surround myself with so all the best and hope you find what you're searching for.

    Good reflections and very candid ones. Part of what makes your channel so great is your authenticity and your point of view. It is a Tagebuch of sorts which is even better. If I may volunteer an opinion, keep enjoying what you do, because first and foremost that’s what viewers appreciate in your content. As much as analytics and monetization considerations are important, firstly you have to be pleased with what you’re sharing. And that’s priceless.

    Jack, many KZreadr's start off using just a mobile phone, and they do fine. Whatever you post, your viewers will watch. You've been through a lot of stress all at once. You will recover. Life moves on, sometimes in very strange ways. Here's my update: The doctor, the specialist, were wrong; I do not have cancer. Now I've been passed off to more specialists, even further away. If they tell me I have cancer, I'll say, "Prove it!" No doubt, they'll order more tests, and not get back to me with the results until I track them down. I know the drill now. There is no way I am going through the grief and sadness and acceptance only to have that all ripped away. Now I have to accept life. I am healing myself through meditation, affirmation and diet. I'm going to be okay. ~ Jon in rural BC, Canada

    I'm gonna be frank here: you looked like a Greek god as you came out of the ocean. Your body looks to be in better shape than many people half your age and less. I think it's amazing that you wear your body hair natural, too. Those who complained... well, their comments and interaction probably only helped to surface your video to more people. Keep doing what you do. I find you so lowkey and cool; totally inspiring to a guy whose just a couple years behind you. Those people who commented badly are probably just projecting.

    I was told at a conference many years ago that news is planned to keep us in a state of fear. And if anything really happened we needed to know then someone we loved would tell us. And in 10 years I have found this to be utterly true. I hope you have a better week xxx

    Age is just a number. On the other hand, I do enjoy getting senior discounts when I can. :) I sympathize and empathize on your depressing week. I forced myself to go out for a walk in the sunshine and got to pet two friendly dog and talk to several others who were in fenced yards. I talked to a couple of people, too, but I preferred the dogs. As for the sandy camera, since you have nothing to lose, you could get a small screwdriver and pry it open, blow out the sand, and see if it works. If it does, reassemble it. You might have to use glue or tape, but it's good to have a spare. Even an old camera can take decent pictures. You could always insert stills into your talks. Be well, be happy, and if I ever get across the pond, I hope we can meet in person. Cheers. ~ Jon in rural BC, Canada

    What a sh*ty week. Regarding the audio. There are some crazy AI-Audio tools out there.I didn't remember the name, but I think I testet something from Adobe. It works really good. Maybe you can go with that until you have a new mic/handy/camera. Regarding news. You are not alone, I was a news junky too, but I decided to reduce it to a healthy level. Like: Be informed what's going on, but not bathing all the time in bad news. It makes us feel depressed and unhappy.

    Hi Jack I think you are doing amazing. I would like to do what your doing and have a KZread channel, but I haven’t got a clue where to start. I’m 55 years old and fully relate to what your saying, from a female point of view 🤔getting older isn’t much fun. Life is a journey with many twists and turns. So don’t worry too much. I follow a channel called “those happy day”they are always planning something with van life. Worth watching 👍

    I laughed harder than I have all year "found on road dead" but also love " driver returns on foot" ford (backwards) anyway, don't mix your van 12 volt system with your solar or external devices. Go to a bonified shop back home that does van conversions. Isolate each part of your van by fuse if you want to find the issue the poor mand way 😊 good luck!

    Part 1 and 2 are easy, I can even partly understand some languages I have never officially learned and cannot speak. Part 3 was always my problem even in my native language.

  • @JonTanOsb
    @JonTanOsbАй бұрын

    I've always been fascinated by languages, even though I'm rubbish at learning new ones. I collected a box of Berlitz books, thinking I needed them to have my characters speak another language. Until I read a book, I think one of Laurence Block's, The Spy Who Couldn't Sleep. His character would say something in English, but the text would say, I replied in perfect German. It was a revelation. Here's something interesting about your channel name. It has three meanings. One of my brother-in-laws is Dutch and has van before his surname. When I asked why it wasn't capitalized, he said, "Because it means from this place." His surname was a place. So, Jack van Dean, means Jack from Dean as well as Jack's van Dean and Jack and his van Dean. :) I assume you taught under the assumed name, Frank. I sometimes use a nom de plume, so what would a teacher be called? Nom de guerre? I'm so glad I caught this video before dashing off the the hospital to get my prescriptions from the virtual doctor and get my A1C blood works done. I had to phone the bloody specialist to see why she hadn't called about my in-person appointment at the end of this month. Her secretary made me one, next month, by phone. Damnably hard to get a bone marrow biopsy by phone. Laters, Jon in rural BC, Canada
