    I've had my YM2200 for 24 years and used it for everything, mowing, bushogging , moving dirt ect. It has been great. The exhaust was noisey but I found a fix. Unbolt the muffler, rotate it 120 degrees forward, it has a three-bolt flange. The get a 90-degree exhaust pipe at the auto parts with a generic glass pac muffler and install crossways on top of the front bumper. Exhaust noise is out in front of you and mine is as quiet as my neighbors new Kubota

    Hi, I had the same problem and it’s hard to explain. My A/C was fine and a year later the compressor started locking up? I bough a refrigerant “kit” with a gauge and it was way over pressure… I relieved some pressure then brought it back up to normal range… since then it worked fine. Another big issue is the composite plastic tensioner wheel for the AC fan belt. Mine keeps wearing through. I’ve replaced it two times and now I keep a spare because it only lasts a few hundred hours..

    The fuel filter on the 2565 is called the water separator it is located on the left side of the engine, driver side in the bottom corner tucked in the frame. It has a priming pump on top and a black filter hanging down well protected by the loader frame

    @@steve_n_utahthediyguy9263 It came with a brush hog and for the size it has quite a bit of power. Done some brush hog work for a friend and she got hot so I took it and flushed the radiator with white vinegar running it off and on for a day then flushed with water several times, treated with a commercial flush. Changed engine oil and filters, new fuel filter housing, fuel injection pump, alternator, starter and a good washing with Super Clean. Little tractor runs great. Just needs a little love. This one came with the original deep bar tires they used for rice fields and such I suppose. Needs new ones due to dry rot but still hold air. Anyway, thanks again.

    MrRain, it sounds like you’re doing all the right things to reduce the overheating problem. I would recommend putting a aftermarket radiator overflow bottle. These can be purchased from Carquest or O’Reilly. They really help., my biggest problem with the brush hogging is the radiator screen getting clogged with dry material. Out here the rabbit brush have a cotton like seed that all Jam your radiator screen and stop airflow. You could try putting a piece of screen over the front of the engine cowling. It’s easier to clean off and you see the problem it more readily. I do know that severe overheating is a tractor killer. It’s easy to overheat and blow a head gasket, and they never quite the same after that.

    @@steve_n_utahthediyguy9263 Thanks for the feedback. Oh yeah, it was boiling loke mad! I do have a stock over flow bottle on the tractor. You are right about restricted air flow. When I brought it home I washed all the blooming thistle off. Had not realized the problem until we took a closer look. The Wood-Mizer mill has the same issue with my Yanmar diesel. I make it a habit to take a blower to the radiator after running. I was grateful that the motor seems fine and still runs great. Thinking of installing a thermostat that shows the temperature instead of just the light. I suppose if the little machine could it would have flashed a brighter light at me. It really is in good shape. Just needs some cosmetics now.

    What a great video for those of us looking at or who own the YM2200. Would love to know what FEL brand you have on it. Also, I noticed that Hoye shows in their parts for this model a hydraulic oil filter and a clutch neutral safety switch. I can't seem to find either on my YM2200. Lastly, I was wondering if the PTO will run when the tractor is not moving: like using a PTO driven chipper? I haven't used my tractor since I got it as part of a house purchase. I replaced the clutch and PP and haven't used it since. Thanks for posting this vid.

    Hi Chas, To answer a couple of questions my Yanmar has a apple manufacturing FEL. There’s no serial number or name plate. Just a couple of warning Stickers . But that front end loader was on the unit when I got it. seems to be a good match. Next the hydraulic filter, mine just has a screen you can open up and clean out. There’s no real commercial style filter. Last of all … yes! that Yanmar 2200 will run up PTO without moving. As a matter of fact, it’s doing it right now. I have it hooked up to a PTO driven 4 inch sigma 25 hp pump. Running a big gun in my pasture. I’ll try to put together a small video about it and leave you a link. It won’t be very slick but you’ll get an idea of what it looks like.

    Hey Steve. I bought the same exact model a couple years ago. I love mine, it’s perfect for a lot of my needs. There is a T handle that turns located directly under the seat. What does this adjustment do ? Anyone know ?

  • @steve_n_utahthediyguy9263
    @steve_n_utahthediyguy9263 Жыл бұрын

    I believe that t-handle is the hydraulic bleed off rate. So basically, when you take hydraulic pressure off the system, it’s how long it takes for that pressure to dissipate. Rotating that T-handle will make your 3-point come down faster. Rotating at the other way makes it dropped slower. Like a damper.

  • @desertmonsoon1
    @desertmonsoon1 Жыл бұрын

    @@steve_n_utahthediyguy9263 Thanks for your quick response. I wonder if that effects the response in the loader too ? Or would it only be the 3 point hitch ?

    I believe it only effects the 3-point lift system.

  • @steve_n_utahthediyguy9263

    The 3-point lift is: hydraulic up and gravity down (due to pressure bleed off).,The loader is hydraulic up and down so it won’t effect the loader down speed.

    Hey Steve I got a 2565 tractor like yours and my AC starting to make noise so I went and bought a new pulley and a belt thinking maybe it was worn out and still makes the noise once in a while what would you recommend

  • @steve_n_utahthediyguy9263
    @steve_n_utahthediyguy92632 жыл бұрын

    Hey Armando, Yes… the tension wheel on my AC pulley went bad with only about 80 hours on the tractor. It was covered by warranty but since I replaced it… I get a quick squeak when the compressor kicks in and the belt drags. I’ve tried loosening it, tightening it, and it’ll help for a little while but goes back to the same old thing. Unfortunately I’m just living with it. So I don’t have a good answer for you. the other belt issue I have is the glow plugs. If I try to use the AC or my hydraulic pressure while the glow plugs are still on , that’ll give me a belt noise also. I just started up and wait to the glow plugs go off then use everything is normal.

  • @steve_n_utahthediyguy9263
    @steve_n_utahthediyguy92632 жыл бұрын

    Armando, there’s one other thing to check , when I put a AC recharge pressure gauge on my low pressure AC port and had the tractor running it looks like their air-conditioning system was Way over charged? This could be the reason the compressor labors so hard when it first kicks on. I don’t have a factory manual but according to the information I have there was too much pressure on the low pressure side.

    So recently I put a air conditioner gauge on my low pressure port on my Mahindra 2565. (That’s the port under the left side panel with a blue cap on it.) My air conditioning person recommend that we run between 40 and 50 psi and it was up about 75 psi. I have no idea why it was this high. But, I relieve some of the pressure and my AC started working good, no more belt squeak when the compressor kicks in!

    Nice rundown on this tractor. I have owned a YM2210D for 25+ years, and all it has done is perform. I currently have a 3pt stump grinder attached to it, the multiple gear ratios along with the various PTO speeds make this the best tractor out of the 6 that I own for stump grinding. My tractor is all bent to hell as I have asked it to do much more than it was designed to do, along with a tree falling on it when stored in the woods, but it still performs extremely well. My other tractors all have power steering, that is one thing I would change on the 2210D, especially when working it a full day. (mine has a FEL too). Thanks for this video!

    Hi Jeff, thanks for the comments. Your spot on… they’re awesome little tractors for what they were designed for. Like you, I ask mine to do way more than it should have. I Right now, I have a PTO driven 4 inch irrigation pump, and it’s a perfect match for the power and the fuel consumption. Even when she’s running hard it’s only about 1 1/2 L per hour. so for every gallon Of Diesel, I get three hours of pumping. That’s a big deal these days with the price of fuel.

    Hi Timothy, Sorry, can’t help much on this one… it is very different from my set-up. But check the “bleed off control” located between your legs basically under the front of the seat. It may be a small single lever or t-lever. What controls the rate the hydraulic pressure bleeds off the system… it may affect the PTO if it’s hydraulic? Just a guess🤷🏼‍♂️

  • @steve_n_utahthediyguy9263
    @steve_n_utahthediyguy92632 жыл бұрын

    Hey Frank congratulations! I Hope you love your 2565. Start with the standard daily checks. Pull the dipstick and look close at the oil. rub it on a white paper towel and make sure there’s no metal or other contaminants. Next go to the back transaxle and pull the dipstick on the hydraulic oil reservoir. Make sure you look at the level and the color. Now, Open the hood and pull the air filter out. Make sure your outer filter is clean abs your inner doesn’t have any dust, dirt, or contamination. If it does order two new ones. I have another video which shows a comparison of the cheap filters and the quality factory filters. If you have compressed air, I’d blow all your radiators out there’s three stacked in there. Make sure there’s no birds nest or brush build up in the bottom belly pan. It can lead to fires. If you don’t know the maintenance history…. I’d look at changing fuel filters and hydraulic filter soon. If you got it from a dealer it might be fine but , It depends on the previous owner and quality the fuel you get. If it’s not documented. Then change them.m, it’s a good idea to start with a “known-known” And set your maintenance routine from that point forward . Don’t forget to pull the dipstick on the front axle also. For some reason mine tends to use a little oil although it never shows a leak… just make sure your tractor is dead level or you’ll get a false reading of over full or under full on the tilt.

    Great idea on the solar panel I need to get one. I bought a YM2000 with a loader a few years ago that was not running because it had been sitting in the rain for years and water got down the exhaust destroying the valve seats in the head. The cylinders have removable sleeves and a local shop rebuilt the head for me so I was able to rebuild the engine in place using parts from the place in Texas. These tractors were designed to be completely rebuilt in the middle of a rice paddy and are so easy to work on compared to a modern tractor. Don't buy the cheap eBay starters as they have a very small motor inside driving a planetary gear reduction to the main gear. With a real starter it's my most reliable vehicle because there are no electronics and switches preventing you from starting it. How did I ever get along without one? You didn't mention the lever you stomp on with your right heel that locks the differential when you get in a sandy or muddy place which I prefer to the 4 wheel drive models for simplicity. Thanks for a great video.

IF you have that type, they can be pushed apart to make better contact, You could also look at the socket, sometimes you can pinch the female sockets into a slightly smaller diameter but you risk damaging it. Either way these are only temporary fixes. The normal vibration will cause the poorly designed OEM connectors to arc and fail.
