What's this channel about? Well I walk around my local area talking about fragrance and the places and times they take me to.
I love discovering and talking about little indie brands, but I do also talk about the bigger, more well known fragrances too.
I believe fragrance is universal, not to be pigeonholed by stereotypes, marketing and gender.
In my videos, I enjoy scenting my favourite TV shows and books. By associating fragrances with characters, I can better explain each fragrance's personality.
I buy what I love, not to review, so I discuss my own loved collection of fragrances and I am always happy to chat.

Pomegranate Noir is lovely. Did you try Pomelo from Jo Loves? Weirdly, despite having completely different notes, I feel like that is a fresher and fruitier version of PN. You will smell magnificent in Coco and I really appreciate Man in Black and LNDLH. Err summer spice for me? Probably Jungle or even Bouquet Encore, I need more spicy fragrances. A nice cool milky/minty cardamom would be fab 😊
Oh yes Jungle is very nice and Bouquet Encore would work nicely too. No ive not smelt that Jo Loves one yet. I'll have to give it a sniff. And thank you for watching 😊
I love Cherie and of course, Jon. I'm late to the vid but I'm soooo nosey ❤
Cherie is absolutely fantastic isn't she. We were definitely a ray of sunshine and a dark cloud in this video 🤣
@@scentedsnowdrops I wouldn't say you're a dark cloud, Jon, maybe just a bit of a haze or overcast 😂
@ems_h.eartnotes well that means I'll have to work harder Em 😉🤣
@@scentedsnowdrops your questions for Cherie are great Jon
@ems_h.eartnotes thank you 😊 yes it felt weird after so many years of watching Cherie
I love a good pointless waffle...🤣
I do create so many of them 🤣
I need to try Pomegranate Noir. It sounds good to me.
It is a gorgeous one from them 😍
Love a bit of spicy, especially in the 'men's' ranges... original Spicebomb and La Nuit de l'Homme are 🖤
Thank Em 😊 yes proper Spicebomb used to be an incredible one
Beautiful sunset! Good choices, Jon. I gave away my Pomegranate Noir because it reminded me of Christmas spices and I knew I couldn't wear it outside the holiday season. 😄
Well Jim 😉 you could make everyday holiday season 😂. No I do know what you mean, cloves can definitely take us there. And thank you 😊
I sampled Musc Ravageur a few days ago, and Wow! I knew this was going to happen...😅 Another one on my list...
Yes 😍 soooo good isn't it
@scentedsnowdrops My wallet is going to hurt...😭 But, I'm not in a hurry... I have 5 sampled niche ones on that list at the moment... It doesn't help that I bought over 12 samples of very well loved fragrances from different houses last month... That, so far, has added 3 to my list.
@CatherineBriseboisCatWoods yes 🤣 the biggest danger of sampling isn't it. But it is so much fun and we find ones we really want and love 😍
Personally, I never can really tell the difference between incense and myrrh. I imagine I enjoy incense more, and that myrrh sometimes smells like exhaust gas.
Do you know what, I can agree there it can go badly wrong at times 😊. Incense is a tricky one, there's so many different types in fragrance but yes it does tend to stick out more
I never thought about myrrh having a similarity to licorice or anise.. but you‘re right. I own a myrrh essential oil and paused the video to go smell it and I really get what you mean. Makes so much more sense now why it‘s one of my favourite resins because I‘m a big licorice fan in perfumes. And imo you made the perfect pick for the designer. Alien Absolue was what started my love and interest in myrrh. You’re so right about it being the perfect flanker.. let‘s even say it‘s worthy of being a flanker, because it kept the (already perfect) Alien DNA but gave it that sweet and warm richness.. propably through adding myrrh and vanilla in the mix. Pendragon‘s heart sounds divine! Definitely going to look it up. Myrrh and golden, dry tobacco should work perfectly together. 🧡
Yes Pendragon's Heart is really nice it works so well with the tobacco. Yes Myrrh has so many beautiful nuances to it. I am a huge liquorice lover too. Not too common tho sadly is it. Lolita Lempicka has that lovely feel in there that I love it. Yes ❤️ it does a good honour to the original Alien which is a legend. The "flankers" they release now are insulting really, they've nothing to do with it at all
There should be way more perfumes featuring licorice, absolutely! It‘s such a beautiful and also versatile note. That‘s why Lolita Lempicka is also one of my all time favourites! Most of their fragrances contain licorice or anise. It‘s kind of a theme 😅. And while you mentioned it, eau de minuit came to my mind, the even darker, thinker version/special edition of the original. And this one has myrrh in it, which proofs your point on how similar or symbiotic these notes really are 💜✨.
@Barbarella555 yesssss you're spot on I've tried that and I can't tell you how sad I am you just can't get it anymore. Liquorice and violet marry beautifully through all their DNAs
Not to sound pretentious 😁🙄 but I’m the proud 🥲 owner of two Lolita Lempicka eau de minuit bottles, the 2012 and 2005 version. I somehow became a collector of vintage Lolita Lempicka fragrances as well as Thierry Mugler. There are still some of them out there if you look hard enough (and willing to pay the price sometimes 🙄). Maybe we‘ll switch samples sometime. Or I‘ll sent you a link to a good offer if I‘m happen to come across one. 🥰
@Barbarella555 wow that is good and no I completely understand the pride we feel when we get an amazing discontinued ones. They are very precious and special. You do have very fine taste 🙂
I‘m that typ of girl getting overly excited over little things (and depressed 🙌🤝🥲) so when you mentioned „the follower“ that requested the myrrh trio I squeaked a little 😂. By the way I purchased a tester of „Calling all Angels“ and I‘m head over heels in love with it! I was in resin heaven while spraying it the first time! Also - she sent me TWO freebys with my purchase which are (of course 😅) incredible as well! I‘ll definitely get more and maybe a 15ml bottle of Calling All Angels. I think it‘s the resin-based scent I‘ve always searched for 🧡☁️ .. It reminds me of the trips to an medieval market 🏰 I took with my dad when I was still a kid (eventhough I‘d totally go there nowadays 😁 but it closed down a long time ago ☹️.) I’d always wanted to go to the booth with all the incense first. I still remember my excitment over all the different colours, forms and aromas. They came in corked test tube which made it all the more magical for me. I think my favourite was dragon‘s blood but I‘m sure the name influenced me a lot.😄 So enough of my waffle, I‘m going to watch your video now. Can’t wait to see your choices. 🥰
You're very welcome 🙂 I'm happy to try and do videos people want to see, we are all a fab community. I love your memory of that, we don't really have anything similar here but I can really imagine what it was like. We had little incense shops when I was going. And yes it's such an amazing magical smell isn't it. And same as you 🤣 I liked dragons blood, cos well it's sounded so cool. Calling All Angels 😍 yes it's absolutely incredible isn't it. AA hit these special moments in time so we'll. It really takes you there doesn't it 😊
The first one I thought of with myrrh was Alien Essence Absolue, I think that was the first fragrance I ever smelt where I noticed it. You're right, it's a flanker that really works and entirely suit the DNA, it's a lovely twist on it but still true to it. I need to learn more about resins 🙊
Resins aren't always the easiest they can sometimes be so different. Yes Essence Absolue is gorgeous isn't it. They really did well with that one 😍
Myrrh can be medicinal to me I think, I guess that's what you mean by liquorice/ sweet spice smell.
Yes I think so that's a good description for it too 😊
Sometimes it's difficult for me to pick out myrrh because it's usually combined with spices, patchouli, or other resins. One that I have sampled recently is Rock the Myrrh by Dries Van Noten, which I find really beautiful.
Oh yes I'd forgotten that one. Yes that is a really lovely one isn't it 😍. And yes you're right it can sometimes be mixed with a lot of others things. Thank you for watching 😊
Embrace being a geek 😊👍 I do have a question for Claire, and I apologize if she did one, but I'm still making my way through her archive. Ok, the question is why do some perfumes perform well or not regarding longevity? Many current designer fragrances perform poorly imho. Did vintage fragrances have better longevity? I love both of your videos (mini fan ☺😉 please don't stop! I learn so much about the craft that can go into fragrance. It's a kind of alchemy, isn't it?
Thank you i will save the question 🙂 and yes it is one of them things that I thing we are all students of. There's so much to learn, it's never ending and it's really exciting to delve into all the sides of it. And of course get to know so many fab people 😍
Hi Jon, thank you for having Claire. Look forward to both your videos 💚 Claire mentioned you in one of her videos, so that's how I landed here 😊 and you both respond to my comments! I get a warm fuzzy feeling when a YT responds to. At almost 10k followers, that Claire responds to comments is remarkable.
Yes she gets 100s doesn't she. If you have any questions for her let me know too 😊. And thank you for coming to me too. Claire is really good and so unique with what she does
Your memes (Gifs?) had me really chuckling 😅 I enjoy myrrh, I have it as an essential oil but I’m not sure if any of my fragrances have myrrh in.. 🤔 The Tom Ford one (Myrrh Mystere?) quite literally smelled exactly like myrrh essential oil to me, couldn’t pick up anything else 🤷🏻♀️ Whoa that was quite a hill at the end there! 😆
🤣 Yes I'm surprised I survived that hill. Yes I wasn't too impressed with the Tom Ford. I've not actually smelt the essential oil, I would imagine it's a bit more intense than the resin
Nice Tfs
Thank you 😊
Lol, I haven't found an Amouage I really like yet, but I haven't tried them all. But I can sense they're expertly crafted. About designer fragrances, they often lose me in the dry down. They begin to smells similar, brassy or metallic, maybe from florals and/or musk. My only designer is the Alien Goddess line, all three. Thank you again for a fun conversation! 🌿
Thank you 😊 Yes Amouage is absolutely not for everyone. They aren't always the easiest. And yes I get what you mean they are all becoming just so similar and dull now.
@@scentedsnowdrops I see you have a talk with Claire in your archives 👍 I'll give it a watch.
@PG-wz7by yes that was a really enjoyable one to do too 😊
Hi Jon, thank you for introducing me to Cherie, I just subscribed to her channel 💚 and lovely to hear you chat outside of your rambles, too 🌿
Thank you 😊 yes Cherie is really good, her videos are always fantastic. Thank you for watching
Delta of Venus was one of my favorite purchases of the last year...absolutely gorgeous. Hope you enjoy, Cherie! It also lasts forever. Another great video, Jon.
It's one I've not tried. But yes Cherie makes it sound really nice too. And thank you Jim 😊
I absolutely love listening to you guys. This was so fun and thought provoking…made me think about how I handle myself on socials for one . And much more tbh!
@@Lunarangst thank you 😊 I know it was a long watch. Yes Cherie is very wise. It's the people that keeps us loving it all isn't it
Another awesome interview, really enjoyed the discussion on the “newness” trend. Accumulation can be very stressful but it’s easy to find yourself in that place. I think we’ve all been there at some point. Now I far more appreciate my oldies that mean something to me.
Yes we all follow quite a similar journey don't we. I'm there too loving the older ones and I guess we'd not appreciate them tho if we hadn't been thru the crazy patch 😊 thank you for watching 😊
Unfollowed Demi some time ago. Never found her objective or authentic.
Yes I think that's fair enough, no point us watching things we don't resonate and connect with. There's so many great people out there for us 😊
🤍💙💛
😊
Jon thank you for the lovely chat, and for the glowing introduction! ❤
It was my pleasure I enjoyed it a lot 😊

Love listening to you both 🥰
Thank you 😊 yes Cherie is fascinating
Looking forward to two of my favorite people chatting!
Thanks Jim, yes Cherie is fab
Fab interview, looking forward to part two! 🙂
Thank you 😊 the ending was a tab abrupt 🤣 I need to work on that
@@scentedsnowdrops well it's hard when you aren't expecting to split it
@dr.claire.perfume come on its me 🤣 I must have known it was over an hour
@@scentedsnowdrops 😉 maybe 😂
I’m super excited for this one. I really love Cherie’s videos. Cherie and Jon talking about smelly water = heaven ❤
Thank you 😊 it was a great honour for me to get to talk to Cherie and pretty awesome to talk to someone who is as geographically about as far away from me as it's possible to be 🐨
My favorite pink pepper is Initio Atomic Rose. I could, as they say, bath in it 😂 this week I discovered that cyclamen can have a pink pepper fizz to it. Commodity Juice Expressive includes it, and it's a lovely everyday fragrance. I purchased a travel spray. Not sure I need a full bottle 🤔but I'm not saying no yet. I would try any and all of these. Thanks for another ramble 🌿
@@PG-wz7by yes with cyclamen I definitely know what u mean, I do enjoy that in fragrance too. And 🤣 Yes there are many I want to bath in too. Yes travel sizes are probably the best size for us nowadays with so many to choose from and wear
Hi Jon, I've never tried Creed. And omg George Santos 🤣🤣 Are the tall flowers hollyhocks? Yeah, Love in White is the only one I've been curious about and will get a decant someday. I like ambroxan, but I feel don't want generous dollop of it in a very high end fragrance. Benzion, however, I'm quite fond of.
If you can try an older version of Love in White I'm sure when I tried it before it was really beautiful. You could love the newer one tho 😊. I'm not sure about the tall flowers, there's so many new flowers and plants appearing 😊
This is hilarious! Reese Moggs is forever in my mind as a Terry Gilliam animation, reclining on his bench. I was addicted to Brexit hearings. Roja 51 sounds so good, likely I'll never get my nose on it. I absolutely snorted when you said scientists save the planet. I enjoyed your UK stereotypes! Too much folk horror films for you regarding Pagans 🤣
Roja 51 is beautiful but it just doesn't seem to have enough about it. Yes JRM is like a made up character isn't he. He's absolutely ridiculous. And haha 😂 yes the UK is a very weird place of weird people at times 😜
It's gonna be bonza. 😉
Full of spunk sport 😜
@@scentedsnowdrops 😂
Amouage gold man is forever going to turn my stomach from now on … thanks for that 😂
🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 Strangely Iove it. But yes a horrifying association there
Mxxx and Green Spell are my favorites. Mxxx is so furry and cuddly and cozy. I love it.
Yes I liked Mxxx too 😍 it was lovely. It's a good house 😊
Very interesting house isn't it! Ma Bête was so much for me I had to put it in a sealed bag and I could still smell it! I remarked to I think Danielle that it made me think of a very elite hooker's silk knickers 😂 Scorpio Rising REALLY reminded me of the smell of my first boyfriend when I was 16. Not a great memory 🙈 The only one I could see myself wearing on the regular would be Green Spell, but you know I love me a crunchy scent 💚
Yes Green Spell is very you 😊 I wish I could appreciate it more. Haha 😂 yes Scorpio Rising is somehow very familiar. Yea Ma Bete isn't an easy love I can get that. And 😂😂 yes a very Elite one, one of Boris friends 😉
Enjoyed tfs
Thank you 😊
Well Ma Bête was way too much for me, but clearly I'm not as much of an animalic enthusiast as you... Same 😂 night flower wasn't what I expected but I liked it and it was probably my favourite. Green spell made me think of peas, kinda crunchy at points. Then it calms down. It's weird, I thought I had the Venus one, did I not send it? I really thought there were 8 at some point but I can't remember 🤦♀️ Scorpio Rising was fine but I've just smelt similar before. The others I don't remember 😂 that's how excited they made me, I didn't feel moved to review these. Is Mx referring to the title that is not Mr nor Miss or am I completely missing what it stands for?
I do like peas :)
Interesting that makes perfect sense I knew Mx in that regard but that would imply still gendering them 🤔 why? Yea Ma Bete certainly ain't one for everyone 😊. Ah don't worry maybe I have it somewhere, you know what I'm like 😂. Yea Night Flower is lovely. Frozen peas... Yea I can see that 😂 thanks for watching 😊
@@PG-wz7by it's more like the smell of the pods. Or like eating the pods whole in the opening.
@@scentedsnowdrops I don't know, is that what Mx refers to? What about Mxx? 😂🤷♀️
@dr.claire.perfume 🤣 I have no idea at all
Hello again! Miller Harris is hard to come by in the US. I'd love to try this one. Claire has reviewed a number from this house, and I'm intrigued. I'm in the half that hate Alien! But I love the three Alien Goddesses. If Gucci would rerelease Envy, I'd be a happy woman. That one imprinted on me :)
Yes Envy is a legend isn't it. Yes 🤣 Alien is definetly hugely divisive. Yea the Goddess ones were definitely not for me. I enjoyed that about Mugler in the old days. It's a shame with Miller Harris they do have some beauties 😍
@@scentedsnowdrops the woman who makes Lunar Dust is another I'm waiting to land here. Claire and you both have reviewed it.
@PG-wz7by Mabelle O Rama, yes she's awesome 😍
Hi Jon, lorvely to see you again. Green Spell sounds like a dream. I love greens, especially galbanum and crunchy leaves. As for scorpio, I'm a sorry example. The spiciness always dominates, not notes I care for. Eris is a new one for me. Edit Oh! I just looked it up on Parfumo, and the consensus is poor longevity, a pet peeve of mine. Green freshies usually have moderate longevity at best. Sad for me!
Yes they aren't huge ones. It's not something I really ever notice cos my skin really holds on to everything a long time. Yes Green Spell is so very very green for the green lovers. And yes I the same with some fragrances it tends to be the very sharp or very sweet thst comes out on me alot
@@scentedsnowdrops You're a lucky duck. I don't think fragrances last all that long on me.
Sometimes I wish some didn't 🤣
@@scentedsnowdrops LOL! I've had a few scrubbers in my life. And or but, it makes it challenging to wear a different fragrance on the same day
@PG-wz7by yes 🤣 we have so many we wanna wear a couple a day
This was such a lovely video geezer. Really enjoyed hearing about your 10 memorable and special fragrances. Don't think I've tried Found at Dusk but it sounds lovely. I do like Blackcurrant. I'm sure i could find 10 fragrances that mean something extra special in my collection but none of them extend further than the past 5 years. . On account of literally never being into fragrance until then 😅. Plus having a terrible memory doesn't help. I want to revisit your sample of joop homme. I was having a decluttering of samples recently, and came across the bright pink decant 😂. It's certainly memorable
🤣 Yes it is a memorable one isn't it. Not for everyone 😜. And thank you 😊 yes I think you'd really enjoy Found at Dusk it's very realistic to me. Yea same for me not many pre all this. Just a few from my youth. Weirdly I still have the main ones and wear them. I don't like change 🤣. Thanks for watching 😊
This was a really nice list, John. 😊 I would say Marbella or Wisteria Blue are special to me. Not because they are super interesting or ground braking, but because they smell very similar to a fragrance I used to wear when I was around between 18 and 22. It reminds me of my carefree young adult life. 😁
Yes 😊 i can absolutely relate to that. They don't need to be flashy or anything as long as they take us on a lovely journey to the past or somewhere nice. 😍
Love this! 🤩
Thank you mate 🙂
I am thinking about a top 10 for life video right now, there is a worrying amount of overlap here 😂 Noir de Noir was stunning on that super hot day. It definitely made me stop and rethink my idea of a summer fragrance. I'm happy you love Found at Dusk and Black Perfecto. I think it's a bit naughty too, but yep, perhaps a little bit more innocent than Alien 😂 If the weather this week is cooler, I'm going to wear Bouquet Encore. 😊 I loved hearing about your memorable fragrances. ❤️
Thank you 😊 Yes Noir de Noir just shines in any weather it's such a stunner 😍. Yes BP is really so damn good 😍 maybe my favourite from Guerlain. And yes nothing comes close to the power of Alien 😍. Thank you for watching 😊
I wish I had not passed along Found at Dusk cuz you could have had it! It took me back to childhood too, amazing smell but it went sour on my stupid skin
Yes I think us 80s kids loved playing in bushes and stuffing our faces with berries and just mud. Ah yes our skin doesn't play ball
@@scentedsnowdrops I totally agree on that, nature's sweets. I still can't resist a wild berry bush on a walk, I have to scoff some
@ems_h.eartnotes yes 😍 same here we have tonnes of wild blackberries found us
I'm impressed I own four out of the ten...and considering that two of the ten have been discontinued and one is Joop Homme, that's not bad! 😜🤣❤
🤣 Yes our tastes are slowly coming together. Thanks for watching 😊 some are so special to us aren't they
Sorry didn't catch the L'Orchestre parfum one? Is it bouquet encore? Xx
Yes Bouquet Encore ❤️ I know these things go way too fast
@@scentedsnowdrops perfect, thank you!! 😘 Xx

Love Ambre Nuit but it’s been reformulated now and it’s much lighter. Glad I bought several years ago. They ruin everything eventually, don’t they?
Yes... LVMH on on a mission to quickly destroy heritage legendary brands 🤣. Yea mine isn't old but it's not the newest thankfully
