Feathers are stiff. Seriously go get yourself a large wing feather and wave it around. They have to hold the literal weight of the animal. Of course you want them to have SOME flex cause they would be fragile. But that doesn't mean they have to be so flexible that they will sproing about just from being rotated at not even that great a speed. It also makes it seem as if the feathers are heavy, but those strong feathers are incredibly light, so they don't have to react so much to changing direction.

Hi, this looks really great. I am a groom artist and currently working on bird characters. We have been facing lot of issues with yeti feathers. One big issue we faced is the feathers change orientation when the wing deforms ( closes) . Is there anything particular you had to do to get them working seamlessly. I would really appreciate if you can share some info on the yeti setup.

Hi , this looks really cool. I am groom artist myself and would like to know how did you get the smooth transition with yeti feathers. We have bee struggling with yeti feather twisting and turning issues with wing deformations. Was it controlled with scripts? Any tips and suggestions would be truly valuable.
