  Actually if you are on daylight saving time in summer the shortest shadows will be around 1pm but distorted either side depending how much your time zone is distorted from natural time. eg Spain still runs on Berlin time because dictator Franco aligned his clocks with Hitler's and they haven't been changed since. This leaves them about two hours further on from where they should be. Parts of northern Spain are as far west as Ireland.

  In the old days Western ( cowboy ) films often had gold mines etc in them and we heard about pay dirt so I've probably known the term for well over 50 years. I got distracted with Check box and Phone Box ( these last have largely gone now ).

  "No Scrubs" is one of TLC's most famous songs so if you haven't heard that one, you may not know them. The only other song I think people might recognize without being failiar with the group is "Waterfalls" Which goes: "🎶Don't go chasin waterfalls.   I believe pay dirt comes from mining and means you hit the seam of "dirt" that contains the rich amount of whatever you are mining for. Eg gold or similar.

  Bees do a "dance" to tell other bees where flowers are. The direction of the dance shows the direction of the flowers, and the number of times they wiggle their rears indicates how far away the flowers are.
