Hi we’re Gem & Alex Swan, in 2017 we quit our jobs, rented out our house and set off on the adventure of a lifetime. We’ve been travelling continuously since then, and have been lucky enough to have some amazing experiences and meet some great people.
Before our trip we were glued to KZread, every evening we watched travel vlogs by @karaandnate, @lifeofjord, @lostleblanc @markwiens and @funforlouis, and these content creators inspired us to document our travels on KZread too. We bought a new camera, and started the steep learning curve of shooting and editing videos, and producing travel vlogs of our epic trip!
Thanks for visiting our channel - don't forget to subscribe!

Hi, thanks for sharing! May I know which month of the year was the trip to Nepal? Thanks!
It was October 😊
Great commentary
I agree, a sunset to beat all sunsets!
I did that, more than a few years ago ago
Laugh Laugh.

Did you use spike shoes for Cho La pass since you hiked through a glacier
No, spikes weren’t required - Alex wore hiking boots and Gem wore trail running shoes!
@@GlobalSwans oh kay. Thanks. Nice Videos !
@@mrinalwaghela43 thank you, it’s a stunning spot!!
@@GlobalSwans My friend and I are going in April 2023. Any tips/advice you'd like to share?
@@mrinalwaghela43 you will love it! You’re at a different time of year to us, but allow more time than you think you need (we got sick so glad we had an extra day!) pack light, but in layers - merino is excellent because you can wear it multiple times! And take a way to sterilise water rather than buying plastic bottles, the pollution is a real problem! Stay safe and enjoy!

Is there a Cambodia playlist for you guys?
So sad very bad experience...
Amazing, i love Irrawaddy dolphins, thanks for your sharing
What did you expect from communist countries? really?
What camera did you use to capture that? amazing.
I don't know about Cambodia bc I've never lived there. But Laos is a super corrupt country. I once had to pay bribe to a teacher and government official once tried to take my money. Be careful where you go Laos.
Yes I m doing all ready this track. I started jhiri to by gokiyo chola pass. it's beautiful track.
Very nice, thank you
FYI. The government officials in Laos are not paid well. Hence them charging you to cross the border. Most of the time to get one of these jobs yoy don’t even get paid for the first couple years. It’s a much better system then the UK or USA. Only 2 bucks
You have the opportunity to travel to Laos. welcome. Please follow. If you come to Laos. You can contact me. Take a clip to travel to Laos.
Great ...
Great video indeed and thank you for sharing 😀 👍, I have a few questions if you don't mind : What high altitude sunglasses are you using? Did you use a Trekking company? What camera are using?
Hey! Alex had Julbo sunglasses, and I (Gem) had Serengetti both cat 4 (and needed!!). This was shot with a mix of Fuji XPro 2 and Sony RX100iii. We used Eagle Treks to organise a Porter/guide for us, rather than joining an organised tour - and I’d highly recommend doing it this way, gives you flexibility if you get ill (as we did!) rather than having to cut your trip short. Hope that helps - happy to answer anymore questions you have!
Wonderful diving trip, such an adventure esp underwater. Beautiful................
Fantastic video! And thank you to put the names of the diving sites! Congrats from Brazil!
Thanks for visiting us my friend at Laos 🇱🇦
Stop complaining and talking so much. Irelevant topics, irelevant about the Steri pen, general knowledge would have told you electronic water purifier in Everest region is a stupit idea. And your pricing is wayy of.
Sorry you didn’t like the video, why do you feel an electronic water purifier is a stupid idea? And what in our pricing seems off - this was a few years ago now, things may have changed?
just amazing
Really is a great spot!
great video, guys. Thanks for the upload. Of course subbed and liked.
Thanks, have you had chance to visit Raja Ampat yet?
Ha! I did exactly the same a year later: found led zep cafe closed so ate at the french cafe. Did you see the abandoned mansions of kep?
koh rong does have a lively party scene. did you check out police beach? surprised you didn't go to koh rong samloem too. that's REALLY chilled out. www.globaltreats.net/a-definitive-guide-to-the-best-of-koh-rong-samloem/
Only just found your channel. Looks like you visited a lot of the same places I visited when I spent a year in Southeast Asia so I'm going to enjoy watching these whilst I wait for the world to ope up again.
Nice video. Surprised you haven't more views!
Thank you!
Hello
Did Cho La pass with a bit of snow on it in october and we also had a lot of clouds sadly enough. I had a guide and was happy he was there. Couldn't always see the right path between the rocks and snow.. it's also very slippery and used my tiny spikes to go up and down the last part.. even slipped with the spikes going down. Most challenging day but so nice!
Nice videos
Nice 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for visiting Nepal. 🙏🙏 Nepal and Nepalese welcome Guest from bottom of the heart #ExploreNepal
When did you travel, what month?
Dustin Hall hi 👋🏼 it was October
GlobalSwans awesome, thank you!
Wooow. Sunset, dolphins, trees, rivers and that peaceful vibe...
Thank you for making this video, it’s very helpful to see real honest travel videos. Regarding the tuck tuck where you paid double, that published rate may have been per person. I’ve never been to India yet, but I’ve been to lots of places in Asia and I find it’s best to learn just enough local language to ask the price of a taxi, I find the more English the driver speaks the more likely they are to see you as a target.
Lovely dolphins
Just ask the name of the officer ... but expecting some other issue ... I spend the border closing and lockdown in Laos. Just happy beeing here, and not at some repressing country such as thailand. Ihzda’lot ofnfreedom, some fun in families partys. It IS a corrupt country, but people are really free here
Papua Raja Ampat vilege friwen
Kerala is the best place in India and the world I am in Mumbai
Next time if you came Nepal again please visit east part of Nepal, you will have more better Tongbaaaa
Santosh Dhungana yes we definitely want to!
@@GlobalSwans yeah sure, you are warmly welcome again in Nepal,,,,
It's not a hot beer it's called Tongbaa in Nepal it's yummy 😋
The plastic bottles in the water is a very bad sign. Pollution is destroying the pristine beauty of Laos. We need to start cleaning up the garbage and trash there.
LaoSoftware yes we couldn’t agree more... really sad to see plastic waste everywhere :-(
Hire a couple locals to go around and clean them up. It is beautiful.
Wow and tnx for to visit our country Nepal, lots of love
Santosh Dhungana it’s a beautiful country!
