  Silly question since I'm not familiar with the machine, but does the steaming function similar to the newer Breville/Sage machines where you just put the pitcher down and the wand does all of the work? And do you get time to practice with the machine because when else would you get access to it? Tin foil hat time: maybe this is how they plan to sell to machines. Make it so the only way for serious competitors to gain experience with the steam lance is to either A) work for SB or B) buy one yourself.

  Usually I just see "the Barista" putting the pitcher under the steaming wand (fully submersed), then walking away.

  I’d only do that if I was coming back within 10 seconds otherwise you’ll likely scale the milk . Also definitely need to get air in first if you did.

  IT IS! Best way to stay aware is following ESOM (espresso state of mind )on insta. They host a throw down almost every month and run the latte art championship media now. So they update a ton on instagram and their website.
