    Hi, could you make a video about how to make old fabric, like a knight's cloak or something like that? With worn spots, tattered edges, dirt stains, and holes. I'm a beginner in Mari and there aren't any tutorials like that, most tutorials are about how to make skin on the face, so you'd really help me out. Thanks!

    wtf I was fixed I was reading to this song if you copy in your mind and not drop a single beat like they were your own children and repalce the lowest base sound so it also the rest at once hits the same time so in your mind it sounds like every sound is the base you candm ride to take a ride to the top of the world and meet him, I use the entire beat to make the sound of an entire page each beat of the base line, fand read so not to onylk o so only is your own miodn and NO OTHER DCO CONTACT, zero CONTACT was his life , part of his succes, he was fno not soiled on by others like most klsjt ks,mmsdo fkl

    Hello! I watched two of your vids yet and mentioned that in one of them you are working in Solaris using Renderman and here you are using Rman via default ROPs. I am relatively new to Houdini and dont know much about USD workflow so i wanna ask are there any actual criterias to choose Solaris or ROPs for projects? I really enjoy working in Solaris cuz i like concept of working with every single thing in the same place and interactivity of render window but i'm afraid there are might be some downsides to it which i can miss due to the lack of knowledge. I am usually working with pretty simple product shots, 3-5 objects, nothing too heavy in the scene, does it make any sense to bring this kind of setup inside of Solaris? If there are some situations when you really should choose ROPs workflow over Solaris where is the border?

  • @JohnnyFehr
    @JohnnyFehr2 ай бұрын

    Hey, Using Solaris is totally fine if you are more familiar with that. You can choose whatever you are more comfortable with, both options are very popular. What ofc is a difference is in non-Solaris Houdini you don't have to deal with the whole USD layering stuff so it can maybe be a bit more straightforward. but if you found a workflow that works well for you in Solaris then it's totally fine to stay with it.

    Hi Johnny Feher , Hope you are doing well your series are really great, thank you so much. Could you please help me with this problem? I've tried multiple times to open ACES EXR files with AOVs in Photoshop, but when I open them, the colors change and they appear in the raw color space. I've also tried adding an ACES LUT, but the colors still don't match perfectly. Do you know how to work with ACES and Photoshop? Because it works fine in Nuke

    Really good stuff. Thank you Johnny Little addition. For those who use EP, Axis Mask node is similar to your Surface Normal workflow (at the end of the tuto) but it's more direct and have the advantage to give you all the direction. The surface Normal node give you only 3 gradient for 3 directions. With Axis Mask you have more possibilities Also you mentioned the directional gradient which I love to use. In addition I use a lot the Object Space Radial Gradient controlled by a locator to define specifically some areas Other tips to create break up gradient is to use Warp Node, almost similar to your workflow with overlay blending but with a different result

    While there is a performance gain in using "Blend Mode Ndoes" it is in the single-digit-fps and it stays there no matter how many merge nodes you replace. So it's not like replacing 50 merge nodes will give you 100 fps more. Mari caches node types when compiling shaders. So it makes almost no difference if you replace 5 merge nodes or 500 with blend mode nodes.
