    My sewing machine is a 220 model. I have yet to be able to use the threader. I wish there was a video available by a teacher with your teaching skill. Thank you

    I had a helluva time trying to get the bobbin off the threader when it was done. I through I was gonna break the machine, or at least the bobbin. I mean it was STUCK. After about 10 mins of prying and pulling the thing came off so violently I sent it flying into the ceiling. Bobbin center must be the wrong diameter or something.

    how heavy of material will a huskey star 224 sew will it sew leather

  • @blainegorelik6014

    Derreck, I don't know the answer to this. I use a Huskystar 219 and I haven't tried to sew leather on it. Just make sure to have a heavy gauge needle that is meant for leather. It is going to be either a 16 or 18. Good luck with your project!

    I love this machine and it’s a long story but I sold mine, then missed it so much I bought one on EBay. Unfortunately it came with the freearm loose. The problem is the little metal gizmo won’t go into the hole. Any suggestions? I can send a pic if need be

    Catherine, I know exactly what you mean and I have the same problem with one of my mine. I wish I could tell you how to fix it, but I can't. You may need to take it to a repair shop to see what they can do.

    I don't oil my machines. I have machines serviced whenever they aren't working properly and it is something that is done for maintenance.

    Hello. Thanks for sharing your video. Now I can set up my machine. You wouldn't happen to have more tutorials on the Huskystar 219, would you?

  • @blainegorelik6014

    Hi Althea, No, I don't have any other videos on the Huskstar but I have several other videos. In the video that I made about sewing of shorts I use the Huskystar. Maybe you would like to watch it in action?

  • @blainegorelik6014
    @blainegorelik60145 жыл бұрын

    That’s an interesting question. You should try it each way to see what works best for your machine. I’ve always taught students to have the thread go over the spool because that was the way I was taught.

  • @IamUncledeuce
    @IamUncledeuce5 жыл бұрын

    I have successfully conquered the model 219 threading problem. Thank you. I do have a question though. My 219 manual clearly shows this thread going underneath the spool rather than over the top as demonstrated. Does your manual differ from mine? And by going under as my manual clearly shows, would that change the thread tension? Thank you so much for your very informative and clearly demonstrated video.

  • @blainegorelik6014
    @blainegorelik60143 жыл бұрын

    I'm so sorry, I just saw your questions. I've always had the thread going over the top. You can try it both ways to see what works best on your machine. No, it does not change the tension.

    It is well worth $40. I buy them for my sewing class and have several. If I can get them for less than $150, it is a good deal.

    How much are one of these worth? Do you think it's a quality machine despite it being an old model? I'm considering buying one second hand for $40

  • @blainegorelik6014
    @blainegorelik60143 жыл бұрын

    I know this is an old post, and your window of opportunity is over for purchasing the machine for $40 but if anyone else reads this, I would say that the machine is worth about $125, used. If you find one for less than that, it would be a great purchase.
