Life is Full of Borrowed Moments!! We are AVID travelers! Scott is a former USPA Skydive Instructor with 4,600 jumps. Brenda has a Master's Degree in Education and Business with a few credits short of a doctoral degree. Between the two of us, we have seven children, and two grand children. We are fortunate to be able to travel the world now, until are we no longer able to do so. We are not your resort/pool bar kind of people (unless you're buying). We go off grid and meet the locals. This channel is about how to go to paradise without breaking the bank. That's who we are. We love the rushing sound of a jet airplane as we are traveling to meet new friends and see new lands. We are not endorsed by anyone, so we can bring the best adventures at the best value to you.

Our motto is Life is Full of Borrowed Moments!!

    As a Samoan who has lived in American Samoa a majority of my life and traveled quite extensively, please don’t try traveling to American Samoa without a passport. You will most certainly have problems unless you get an ok board through the AGs office website (not guaranteed) and comes with a $50 fee, which is half the cost of a passport that’s good for 10 years. Save yourself the hassle. Get the passport. We are treated as international in so many ways. Also, if you are a US citizen, you must purchase a roundtrip ticket. Only American Samoa residents can purchase one way tickets. Hope this helps.

    It’s unfortunate that American Samoans can’t qualify for US citizenship by being born and they have to apply unlike any other US territory. Unfortunately, this has been lobbied consistently to stay this way by the starlight Tuna corporation and many seafood companies based their LLC is out of American Samoa for tax reasons. Why it’s still not having to pay locals a decent wage or benefits

  • @travisfamilytravels7504
    @travisfamilytravels75046 ай бұрын

    It is unfortunate, but they are considered American Nationals, and it is pretty easy to get citizenship. The problem lies that they signed a treaty stating that you have to be at least 50% Samoan to buy/own land there. While this has saved the land, and we feel it has been beneficial for them, it is the difference between citizens and nationals. They can still easily fly into any American city with no difficulty. Like other territories, like Puerto Rico or the Virgin Islands, they can go to any American state and get jobs, and are treated the same, for the most part. Believe it or not, American Samoans were actually the smart ones -- they kept their sovereignty, their land, and the rights given to most Americans. Thank you for stopping by.

  • @mmassehs3251
    @mmassehs32516 ай бұрын

    @@travisfamilytravels7504 That is true, but also look up the starkist tuna Company(The same people that created the American fruit company, then known dole) is not a human It’s a corporation that legally owns a lot of the land on the island as well. They are all about 13 different S corps in SLC LLCs. through various real estate companies and land management agencies that oversight bureau management, and at the end of the day nearly all taxes go to them, and they ultimately are the islands landlord in many different aspects than simply being the largest employer. That’s why I want people to get their line, taken from not paying off their debts they have the option to directly appeal. The case there’s companies directly associated an aunt as a subsidiary of starkest.. Also, starlight has a significant amount of investments from the royal family and for that reason, they also cannot be touched. This is why Disney cannot be touched in the most recent lawsuits, governor of Florida, because the queen of England and the royal family on the land that Disney is placed on and have a significant investment in starkist since the early days. As well as the physician management agencies that regulate that island, as well as the actual country of Samoa through the commonwealth of New Zealand

I love the rural countryside,and the quietness,it brings. Seei g Molokai reminds me of this quiet lifestyle. Its a very beautiful island,and very bucolic. Ive been to Hawaii,but never Molokai. @travisfamilytravels7504 Thank you for responding to my comment. The people of Molokai remind me of our native American tribes here. They have a strong reverence for the land,water,and sky. They hold it sacred,and do not want it altered in any way. To me,Molokai is Hawaiis land of indigenous people. A Hawaiian tribal reservation land,that demands respect for the culture and land. May it always stay this way. God bless.

    Yes but what has the US done for American Samoa? Samoa already has 50% renewable energy and is energy independant. Unlike American Samoa, the US will just steel your island same as Hawaii you need to buy fossil fuels from the US to power your country. That's not fair on Samoa when you pollute your island.

  • @travisfamilytravels7504

    First off, you have to be 50% Samoan to be able to own land on this island; that is the deal that they made with the US government. They rely on New Zealand for most things that they don't already have. Thank you for visiting.
