  The thing I love most about Selena is that she made me proud to be American AND Mexican. Something I think Becky G as a Mexican American can relate to as well. A lot of times Mexicans critique and hate on me for my imperfect Spanish and call me stupid names like no sabo or try to demean me or call me fake Mexican because I was born in the US. (Something out of my control) Which honestly made me resent Mexico and made me think that they are just jealous and poor and it made me more proud to be American and want to be around fellow Americans bc Mexicans from Mexico do nothing but hate on me. But Selena SHE made me PROUD to be both American AND of Mexican heritage. She truly embraced both sides of her and that made me feel I can as well and that it’s a beautiful thing. Something that no Mexican celebrity today has done because of her I wanted to learn more Spanish. Because of her I wanted to embrace my heritage and learn the language of my ancestors. I miss her and sad she’s gone.
