Nice spot you have there mate! I'm hoping to find my first Codd too, only been hunting and digging for bottles for a few months so plenty of time to find one.
How many broken are you on so far, I've found around 10 broken but still no complete.

Cheers Del. So today is actually the day I'm putting my D2 on eBay. For various reasons, work, family and an inability on my part to get any more permissions I'm chucking it in for now. Looks like a cloth tag. They used to put them on bolts of cloth to identify the maker. Might be wrong.

That is so nice of you to ask and think of me. Confirms to me you're a top bloke. Um so I'm almost at the point where I'm giving up detecting completely. Work and personal life hasn't allowed it and due to me not having the courage to door knock, I've no more permissions. Current perms are quiet even if I could get out!
@@historydeantected if you have the courage to share your videos to the world on KZread, then believe me you have the courage to ask for permissions. 95% of farmers / landowners are sound as a pound and will be friendly with you. I admit it can be daunting, but like anything confidence and courage come with experience. Sorry to hear that your thinking of packing in, but definitely consider stickin at it :)

Good to see you Dean. Found one of those spade guinea tokens a couple of years back. Turned out to be the version the actual Gold guinea was copied from. Found this out on researching it at the time and identified it from the lettering. Other tokens were after this and usually dated earlier than the manufacture date to appear older. On that note. I'm off to sleep. Just finished night shift 😄

Superb finds congrats. I swapped from Nokta to XP January just gone, i know have a Deus ll. I found it a little overwhelming to begin with. I mean it's a hell of a machine but the features the thing has, it's a good job the manual is as good as it is. The difference in the tones was the main thing but i have started to get into it now. I have had 2 really good targets so far. Myself and a friend have been searching an old Sanitorium in Shropshire and the first good find i had was a Brooch. It is 18 carat with Diamonds and Emeralds, i was shaking when i unearthed it. The second was a Masonic ring, 14 carat and it has the compass and set square in enamel. Probably 2 of the best finds i have ever had and in so short succession and it was when i changed my machine. A testament to how good the XP Deus are. I'm a big fan of your channel by the way Dean, thanks for sharing.

Nice vid mate. That sort of age tip - just be a bit careful about old syringe heads that were discarded. I've dug tips that age before and had the rather unfortunate experience of finding old, steel syringe heads discarded in tins and old pots.

Nice Silver there Dean. Looking forward to getting out again soon. Detectival was awesome. No great finds overall but a semi-detailed half cut short cross, a pretty worn Roman Minim and a lovely wee bag seal being my top 3. Some nice bits came up though over the weekend but the event itself was really good. Sociable and friendly to say the least 🙂. Hope you is well.
