How do you rate the AF? It seems that in the case of Nikon, ML is still not as competitive with other systems as it was in the case of DSLRs.
Can you get to the bottom section from the top compartment?
You can. There's a divider I there. But you loose most of the storage removing it.
The bird photos/videos are really quality but I feel like your vlogging camera setup could use a little love maybe even just a polarizer. It just feels kinda funny to watch camera gear review where the video quality is lackluster, you know?
Thanks! Its very hard to rig a full size camera into a kayak and have room for everything. So most times I use a GoPro to record with. Along with wind and waves will soak your gear or topple it over. So its reassuring to use a GoPro and know its waterproof. A polarizer won't help with image quality on bright days. Polarizers are used mainly to eliminate reflections and glare off water/glass/metal. In the last year I have bought a Nikon Zfc to take the place of the GoPro when weather and water conditions permit. You can see it being used in the Z9 Firmware video and the Nikon 180-600 YureCam Lens Cover review. This year I might sell the Zfc and buy the new Nikon Z6iii when it comes out (hopefully) in the next few weeks. Depending if it has the same video quality as my Z9. I would really like to buy a Z8, but thats a bit to expensive for right now. I'm trying to save for a Nikon 600mm f4 TC Z lens.
Well, the strength of this bag is, it looks like you’re possibly carrying your weekend laundry inside it, not thousands in camera gear. It’s appears very well designed pocket-wise. Looks like there really is allot of room for edc personal stuff, which many brands of photo bags just ignore. When I go out and I wanna bring my camera and maybe a lens, battery etc, I still have my car keys, wallet cell phone and other bits that actually take up allot of room. I get most frustrated with the car keys, as allot of vehicles (in my case a BMW) have enormous fobs that take up gaudy room. And of course, I need them with me. The zipper issue does give me pause though. Anyways, looks like a nice bag overall. Hope you enjoy it.
It's bee very solid for 3 years now. Use it almost every other day. Keys and stuff for me just stay in my pockets 😂
Would be cool to see a comparison to a full blimp, I would guess that is even better at it
Not sure how much better. I've been driving down the road windows down holding a mic with this deadcat and had zero noise.
@@MannsWoodlandPerspective that makes sense. I did watch a video right after yours that came up in my search that showed exactly that, the slip on windscreen compared to a blimp. The blimp did work better in extreme scenarios. However, the slip on is much more convenient and cheap in comparison, probably good to have both if you’re a professional, but maybe just start with the slip on.
turn down the iso? im afraid of overexposure, but it still looks great!
It was just a test. Used for nothing 😂
Between the Venlo Mammoth TMTH44C and Mach TMA47AXL, which do you recommend more?
Well the Mammoth has the bowl so you can level your camera much easier. And that's a win already. But it is about 2-3 feet shorter than the TMA and about 1lb lighter. So really it depends if that fits your needs more. The Mammoth is also more video centric.
@@MannsWoodlandPerspective thank you I think I can make some good choices.

1990s
This camera was released in early 2000s.
@@MannsWoodlandPerspective Yet in mine there were videos from 1997
@@compaqrealistic8431 I'm not sure what your point is? Different models of the Sony Handycam have existed since 1985. This one uses a ccd sensor to encode footage onto a tape. Super 8 is a medium. Just like 35mm film or digital cameras. You wouldn't say a Canon Powershot Elph 1000 7.1mp is the same as a Canon Eos 1DX Mark 3.
Is it soft at f 2.8 and does it have chormatic Aberations?
It's well controlled and sharp at 2.8.
Thanks
Pretty nice looking bag!!!
Ain't bad at all for the price. Long as your camera and lens isn't huge 😂
I’m doing the same thing now, thanks for the well explained tutorial!👍
Welcome!
Thank you so much for this comparison. I really appreciate it!
From Santa Ana California 🇺🇸🇲🇽👌👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻wow!!
Great review. IMHO, you are better off not using the 1.4x TC on the Z 180-600. If you really need to punch in just go DX, get closer, return to FX as soon as you can. On the Z 100-400 its worth it, but mostly for what you get at the wider end in macro situations. Astonishingly good macro from 140mm to about 250mm with the 1.4x TC. As a Z 180-600 substitute, the Z 100-400 is sharper at 400mm than the Z 180-600 at 600mm. The Z 100-400 with the 1.4x TC is perhaps not as sharp as the Z 180-600 in the lab, but in the real world the images are practically indistinguishable between those two. The Z 100-400 is lighter and smaller, but the Z 180-600 is an internal zoom and $1250 cheaper (sale price, inclusive of the 1.4x TC for the Z 100-400) That's what the choice really comes down to.
I am mostly shooting video anymore, so its very useful for that. It basically lives on my 180-600 now. The 100-400 is a S tier lens. It should be sharper. But also, its still only 400mm. So spending more to get the same results as a 180-600 is not great. Recently I got the 105 2.8 MC Macro, and was disappointed when it didnt accept a TC like the F mount versions did. But its no loss at all. Slowly saving my beans for a 400 2.8 TC Z.
@@MannsWoodlandPerspective It depends on your subjects, and, obviously, how much you are willing to spend. I own the Z 100-400, Z 180-600, Z 600 PF and Z 800 PF. My wife does come shoot with me sometimes, so having lighter/smaller options for her is a must especially when we travel. If I had to sell one of these lenses, its the Z 180-600. The Z 100-400 is just a better overall lens and far more useful, and the PF's are just amazing. I have not shot with the Z 400/600 TC lenses. If I were to get one, the Z 400 f2.8 TC is the one I would get. The Z 600 f4 TC, while I am sure incredible, is just too big, heavy, impractical vs the Z 600/800 PF's.
Very nice tripod!! Great review!
Thanks! 👍 I enjoyed it for macro. This specific tripod will be on eBay soon.
So serene
❣️ I ENJOYED IT AND LOVED IT ❣️ THANK YOU AMAZING DOCUMENTARY🙏🥰🙏
Love this video. Great content and very informative. I just purchased a Nikon Z7II and am trying to get used to the different auto focus modes compared to my D500 and Nikon 200-500mm F5.6 lens combo. So far so good. I like it. You have a new subscriber.
Thank you! Welcome. It's certainly a capable camera when you keep it in Dynamic Area.
Thank u so much for uploading this was something i watched a lot of in my childhood this film in particular and i still have a national geographic subscription i get a new one once a month
🍀🍀🍀
That green… have you put on an adhesive skin? Love the color!
Thanks! It's a 3M Vinyl skin from Alpha Gvrd. Search my channel for it, you'll see the install.
I really enjoyed this! Thanks for sharing! ❤️❤️🦍🦍
If only I could afford something like that
Just gotta keep working towards it. ☺️
@@MannsWoodlandPerspective (:
Nice 👍😉
That's cool!
Nice photos and atmosphere! =) Ps: My Z8 is my favourite camera ever but for casual everyday photos I do like using my Z fc (24mm 1.7 and 85mm 1.8).
Thanks! I hope to do more like this. I have a 105 2.8 macro arriving tomorrow. Maybe I'll do some macro on the Zfc as well 😊
You said “do-do”!!! 😂 lol
What cables did you use to transfer footage?
Right here. kzread.info/dash/bejne/X4uqtNuah9Gqd9Y.html
@MannsWoodlandPerspective can you upload the full documentary of Stalking Leopards (m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51nUTGR1JkL._AC_.jpg)?
Its a razor sharp lens and crops into ridiculously large like my 600mm equivalent , so well i dont carry the 600mm unless i need the 600mm cropping into 1000mm , d850s thrive on the g ed vr11 70-200 .
I want the Z 70-200 so bad 😓😅
Haven't been there for years...
Time to take a walk.
I wonder how the newer software update affects focus for Nikon. IN April 2024 I tested a Z8 auto focus, and it was extremely sticky while in B&H. Internal focus is nice on this lens.
I'm sure it didn't get worse. Lol
@MannsWoodlandPerspective Yeah, no, I didn't think that it got worse either. As accurate as tracking was in B&H I would like to see you re-evaluate this lens with the better software updates.
Reevaluate with which camera?
@@MannsWoodlandPerspective with the same camera the Z9 I'm guessing would be perfect. The software is leap years ahead if the 1st issued firmware with the last update.
@@ALIONFORYAHSWORD I've been on the newest Z9 firmware and it feels basically the same. There's not been a big difference between fw 4.1 and fw5.0
That road looks like any car could easily handle it, at least going down, going up may be an issue for FWD cars depending on how steep it is which I know doesn't show on video.
It's about 19% grade. And 10-14in dips and potholes.
Very nice selection of a wide variety of photos.
Many thanks!
Just subscribed! my Z8 is showing up today, and was contemplating ordering the 180-600 for wildlife, surfing, upcoming air shows this summer. Looks to be something worth investing in with the versatility in the focal length vs a prime. Thanks for this video.
Welcome aboard! Thanks for being here. Its def an extremely versatile lens. Funny you comment on this video as I just submitted some media creds for some airshows lol. Who knows if I'll get them though.
i think that the TC's on Z are a lot lot better than F mount versions, most people in reality cant tell the difference in a small iphone screen. I think the one stop lens + TC is a good option for most, but since using the 500pf and now 600pf i just like the prime speed of focus, and as long as i plan the images around the suns direction in morning and evening its ok, doesnt need an F4 or 2.8 to sit out in those lower light points to keep that iso down. lovely examples of TC on this, I even ordered the 180-600 but cancelled it after 3 months of waiting as it was so popular, guess all the 200-500 users swapped.
Thank you! Ya it's been on a massive back order. I was lucky to get it through NPS on day 1.
This is not right. Why on earth did they expect the gorillas to behave and perform as they naturally would in the wild while they are literally in the most unnatural setting living the most unnatural life as a wild gorilla. Motherhood isn't something u can expect a gorilla to just know , it's learned behavior taught to them by their parents and extended family as is all other lessons they will need to prosper in their lives. I don't see how they prolonged their maternal study as long as they did because that was the most unnatural behavior I've ever seen in a gorilla mum. She was clearly doing everything just wrong and it was so evident, I was truly afraid for her child. There is nothing natural about the situation, nothing changes they see the exact same playground and faces every single day. They don't see none of the other wildlife they naturally encounter on a daily basis in their habitat or even know other animals exist. Gorillas forage for Miles and Miles every single day and become familiar with other wildlife and natural food sources that they will never see where they are. Their being deprived of their destined natural gorilla experience while being expected to behave like a natural gorilla even though they have no idea what it is to be a natural gorilla. Humans can't teach a gorilla mum how to be a gorilla mum 😢
Great video cuz
Thanks Dude! Coolest thing to see
Brilliant lens i have that and the new fl ed vr , iv took most my wildlife photos on this cropped in stupidly close , the new version iv not used yet , (its in a seperate bag with a seperate camera ,
Which is version 4? The Z mount?
Very nice camera work. Happy bday.
Thank you!
I love t-25 for any screws. I hate T-20’s though!
Looks like you need a lcd live view to find sun . I’m using exact same lens and filter and couldn’t find the sun until I clicked a few pics moving the camera around to find the sun. Thanks for video.
Zoom back, find the sun, zoom in.
What settings are you using for Monday’s solar eclipse with this lens? I have a K&F ND 100000 nano x series filter. It does not say on it it or iv. Will this still be ok?
I won't know the exact exposure settings until the day of. There's no one rules all exposure. Clouds change it a lot. ND 100,000 is about 16.5 stops. That will work fine. Use the back lcd screen if your camera has an optical viewfinder. So you don't hurt your eyes.
Congratulations. ❤❤❤❤❤
Great test! Thanks
Thank you ☺️
