    Dude, I've NEVER commented on KZread before... But just saw the vid where you were thinking of quitting/putting music on the backburner... just after I'd watched THE most useful production vid I've ever seen (10 tips for new producers - 'Sketches' particularly for me!) Just wanted to say you're the best Electronic Music Production channel on KZread (and my god I've searched) so please continue your ridiculously inciteful, humble/cool channel run by a guy who knows more than every wannabe youtube producer combined! Learnt more from you than last 10 years man! Big love - Joon x

    Maybe you can work with a marketing manager or something I think a reason why some people blow up and others don’t is just how you market your self on social media I found lots of different artist I listen to because they post a lot of social media liek TikTok’s and stuff and maybe doing remixes to poplar songs , obviously I’m just a fan and beginner producer but that is what I’ve been noticing as a trend on social media just remixing poplar songs like levity/tape B they are blowing up cus there marketing is super on point

    Kermode - wow, the hold shift and then move midi notes is quite helpful. I have a question. I admit I am a Version 11 Suite Power user but sometimes stubbornly blunder on inefficiently. Here is a basic question no one will answer. Say I'm drawing volume automation with the pencil tool. Is there in Live or any DAW a way to force the program to draw a straight line? I'm not talking holding shift or control which sort of works ofI'm saying I start drawing a line with and it doesn't go up or down at all. It is locked as I draw so if I wanted to lower volume to say, -6.5 db, once I get there the entire line I draw is at -6.5 db, not "pretty close." Thanks!

  • @KermodeMusic
    @KermodeMusic2 ай бұрын

    I think the most effecient way to do this is to create an automation point where you want it to start, another where you want it to end, then right click to add a specific value (say -6.5), then both points are 100% what you want it to be

    Your music is off the chain bro! Most artists would be happy with a fraction of the talent you have. I think you should be working with singers and rappers more as like a super producer. You should pitch your music to the Asian market. Asians pay a lot more attention to detail than westerners. Maybe you haven’t taken off yet because God is preparing you for huge success? Success and fame more often than not destroys people if they are not well grounded first. Going through the school of hard knocks is tuff but pays off in the long term. You truly are head and shoulders above the rest. You’re a SONIC MASTER KRAFTER! Don’t give up. I suggest you spread out your wings because you’re going to be riding a whirlwind of success in the near future! Much love ❤👍🙏😜

    Thanks for the video! Curious... do you usually use root/whole notes when you add sub bass or do you have it follow the bass guitar note for note? I'm producing some indie pop music and am trying to beef up my chorus'. Thanks!

  • @KermodeMusic
    @KermodeMusic3 ай бұрын

    I think it will sound most cohesive if it is following the same note as your bass guitar. If you're going to have a clean sub underneath it's also pretty vital you cut that sub range out of your guitar, and then if possible process them together a bit to make them cohesive. Perhaps some compression and light distortion/saturation to glue them together. If you want to get super nitty gritty you would phase align the bass with the sub to make it as clean as possible. If your bass guitar recording has sub in it though, you're probably best using the sub in it for the most natural sound. Some multi-band compression could help balance the sub in the guitar and then you can turn up the whole band after the compression. Or the right EQ can go a long way as well.

  • @KermodeMusic
    @KermodeMusic3 ай бұрын

    Also, I should say the technique in this video may not be your best bet if you're layering it with your bass guitar. The added harmonic in the sub will sit around the nice bass guitar harmonics. You're probably best just having a pure sine wave without any harmonics, layered with the guitar with the sub EQd out, and then processing them back together with a bit of distortion/saturation. If you choose to add a seperate sub instead of boosting the bass in the actual guitar recording, which is your most natural option
