Hello and welcome to the Rail Videos NI channel (Formerly known as Nirtrainman) this is the home of videos of trains from Northern Ireland Railways & Irish Rail.
PLEASE NOTE All my videos are copyrighted by me
Let me tell you a bit about myself my name is Matthew I am 27 and I'm from Belfast in Northern Ireland and I have been a Railway Enthusiast all of my life.
On this channel you will see daily videos of the Railways in Northern Ireland & The Republic of Ireland.
As well as that from time to time videos from the railways in the rest of the UK will feature on this channel as well as the occasional videos from Model Railway Shows and Narrow Gauge Railways.
I personally prefer older trains so most of my videos will feature older locos & rolling stock but videos of more modern trains will feature every so often.
I hope you enjoy watching my videos and if you like them feel free to subscribe to this channel to see my latest videos.
Enjoy & Happy Viewing

We were there a week or 2 before this and they were telling us theyll get her out soon, great to see her going. They also said they plan to have the Portrush Flyer going next year
Fantastic to see. Good on them.
Great to see her back!!
Great footage, love the shunt with B142 at the end. She’s got a sharp bark, like 131 but less squeaky 😆
Grand footage. It was a fantastic day all-round. Privileged to have been a part of it
Lovely to see her move on her own steam, I wonder if she’ll be taking the small trains up and down the platforms any time soon?
She might do one or two for a bit of bedding in under load, but from what the crew said, she's much better suited for running on the open line
Unlikely in the short term. There is a still a daunting list of things to be completed, including all the electrical fittings and wiring, and the whole thing to be painted in that iconic GNR sky blue livery. But we are well pleased with today's test - 171 acquitted herself well, and handled the various points and crossovers up and down the yard as if they weren't there. The crews remarked on the quality and smoothness of the major controls -(apparently the regulator can be operated with fingertips. Great video, Matty. Keep up the good work.
True, true but as we don’t have a driver up north and I would like her to stay up north.
Great to see her back from overhaul
Hi mate please keep your great video comeing your videos keep me up. I am not at home today I am in ANTRIM HOSPITAL WITH two bad keens and leges after a bad fall in my house I beenin in Antrim hospital for 2 weeks now but it is going to take a other 5 weeks to get me right I am in ward A7 MATE so goodbye for now Clive in N lreland 😢😢😢

Excellent Shots Matty!😃.

Sir Kenneth Grange was the best designer in the world and it's very sad when he died. My condolences condolences with his family.
bro the horn is soo loud and I'm laughing to hard
Has anyone gave a minute's thought in modifying a tender to hold battery equipment and motors, a steam generator van or even reconstruct an old Metropolitan electric as a full electric to serve not just as an auxiliary rescue from Rosslare but also as an assist in reducong wear and emissions by providing traction and charging with regenerative braking and DART overheats?
Tenders already do hold electrical equipment that provide power in the cab for signalling / train protection safety systems as well as the train radio. They are the only modifications required
Great video - I was wondering what the story is behind the two Enterprise services in Victoria Street at 46:08? Was Lanyon Place just closed for maintenance or something, and when was this?
Thanks. When the photo of the Enterprise sets was taken they were temporarily running out of GVS as the line round to Belfast Central / Lanyon Place was closed due to engineering works taking place. kzread.info/dash/bejne/ioSarJeEfcvOebA.html
Northern Ireland railways has same voice UK
Yes, it's a nice looking train, when washed, but it is most uncomfortable.
Good video ive seen 3 or 4 services use the line to belfast but terminating in adelaide depot and not taking any passengers
Thanks. Access to Adelaide Depot is possible via the south gate as most of the work that is taking place is on the section from Adelaide Station to Westlink Junction & Grand Central Station.
Hi mate great video I am sorry to miss that but I am in ANTRIM HOSPITAL WITH A bad leges and keens I have been in 8 days now mate goodbye for now Clive in ANTRIM HOSPITAL
Sorry to hear that Clive. Wishing you a speedy recovery
What do you mean the last Enterprise Operations in Belfast Central?
Enterprise services will no longer terminate at Belfast Central/Lanyon Place and will use the new Belfast Grand Central Station in future upon it's opening
@@sambarsoum3125Why did they not keep it going from central until the new station actually opene
*Lanyon Place
@@sambarsoum3125so what’s going to happen now with the Enterprise Train?
Please read the video description the information is there.
😢
I’d love to see the DART trains going to Navan when they extend the M3 Parkway line - once the high speed rail tunnel under the Irish Sea gets built from Holyhead to Dublin and once there is a LUAS or DART underground built from the Irish Ferries/Stena terminals at Dublin Port via Dublin Docklands Rail station, getting home to family in Dunshaughlin from Manchester Victoria on a direct SailRail train from Hull via Leeds and Manchester Victoria will be so much easier, without needing to use flying and air travel
that is one MASSIVE logo on 3023
1:40 yes
Are they going to build anything over the tracks? What will the area be used for now?
Part of the trackbed area is now in use as a bus lane.
Well done ! A labour of love indeed !
Thank you
It is very sad to see it go
Farewell Great Victoria Street
Very good video
Thanks
Is this gonna br Derriaghy's new train station
**Railway Station** No it is still the same station the only new station atm will be Grand Central. Only thing that has happened is a new platform on the down line has been built to replace the old platform which could only accommodate 3 car trains and was pretty narrow. The new platform is wider , can accommodate 6 car trains and has disabled access. The Up line platform has been extended to accommodate 6 car trains.
Exellent😊
@@train4905 Thank you
CC 206 like engine CC 202
Saw it on 12:35 today at botanic
Good clag
Super rare to find a 4000 on the old knockmore line! Was it driver training?
Ive watched some of your other videos and im wondering where you hear about railway activity as i always end up missing it
It's a case of knowing the right people
1:00 was that a 2800 on platform 3
No it's a 2600. The 2600s are currently getting their gangway doors removed and with them removed they look very similar to the 2800s.
@@RailVideosNI Cheers!
Great video.
@@McFordWilliam Thank u
Sounds like a class 52 and a 37 mix
What with the 201 and always falling
Age and high mileage they are a hard worked class. Sadly technical problems are unavoidable with any class of loco or multiple unit.
Great video. How many 201s have got to Rosslare before ? Cant be many
Thank you. The only 201 I know off for defo that has been to Rosslare is 216 on the Belmond and I think one of the other ones was one of the locos that is now out of traffic and lying in Inchicore.
Excellent rail video.
Thank you
Nice video when did that happen.
Thanks this was taken last week.
Why is the station so quiet. How many trains actually run in and out of that station?
Were three or four people standing beside each other watching this thing crank?
Nice capture and nice tone thanks for sharing and hope you have a great day
New grand Central station next July in Belfast from Dublin
Actually it is more like October or November.
Hi my name is Derek can you tell when the new Belfast grand central station go to be open
I don't know. Apologies You will have to contact Translink and ask them.
@@RailVideosNI No set date as of yet, however in a Tweet, Irish Rail stated that their best estimate for opening is the 25th August 2024. Translink however, are stil maintaining that it will be open in September of 2024.
Even they call it train station now 😝
I know It should be Railway Station
@@RailVideosNI why?
