how come he steps with his left foot first to step outside the lead foot of opponent. I thought you had to move right with the backfoot first

First time seeing Marvin's videos, never heard of him. His style of teaching, however, is easy to understand and follow: technique, followed by a technical example--and it looks very effective! Thx!

For ultimate power, your hips should be the driving force behind the four basic punches: jab, cross, hook, and uppercut.

He's saying push off of your lead foot. But he's not saying that you also need to Pull the back leg toward you. You'll be soo much quicker if you push and pull with both legs

You can also try pendulum step jab with this. When you pendulum in and out with the jab on the way out you pendulum to the right and then pendulum back in with jab cross then duck out or pendulum back out after the cross.

As most people are orthodox, angling to the right stays away from the power arm

Whats interesting being southpaw and working that angle, the jaw is at an angle. So when you throw a jab or straight, it swings the jaw like a KO hook. But if you just stay fighting square, a jab or straight pushes their chin more directly back instead of the swivel angle.
