Dear Dr Saad, thank you very much for your comment. The point of entry helps the operator in "aiming" the beam at the sensor, which in most cases can't be seen. It has nothing to do with the horizontal and vertical angulations. I hope I made my point clear.

The target is made of tungsten, an element that has several characteristics of an ideal target material, including the following:Low vapor pressure at the working temperatures of an x-ray tube, to help maintain vacuum in the tube at high operating temperatures السلام عليكم دكتور ولو انه السؤال مو بمحله بس ممكن التوضيح للنقطة اعلاه
@saadwahbyalbayatti9561 Жыл бұрын
و عليكم السلام و رحمة الله و بركاته Thank you or the question. Since 99% of the energy of the electrons that travel from the cathode to the anode (target area) will be changed to heat, and only 1% will be changed to X-ray, then there will be a need to use a material that has the following characteristics: 1- Does not melt easily, i.e., has a high melting point. 2- Does not evaporate easily, i.e., has low vapor pressure. 3- Has large number of electrons in its outer shells, i.e., high atomic number. 4- Good thermal conductor to lose temperature easily. All these characteristics are available in tungsten except point number 4. so it is embedded in copper to dissipate heat which is generated in the target. If tungsten evaporates easily, the vapor (in the gaseous state) will prevent the electrons from moving freely from the cathode to anode, this space should have no air at all (vacuum) to remove any resistance for the movement of electrons. Clear?
