My uncle had one, same colour too. It was big, especially when you were only around 8 in the late 60's. It was a cool car❤

The auto transmission in the Viscount was Powerglide a tough transmission but already obsolete in tue USA. Withbonly a two speed ratio depending on the torque converter which was okay behind a small block 283: Chevy V8 but ....

I drove a Thames Trader in the 60s. They were heavy to drive as there was no power steering. You had to have arms like Garth. I drove a tipper carrying anything and everything. The firm I worked for bought old lorries and then worked them to death along with the drivers. The manager scrounged old oil from other wagon firms and we had to use it to fill the engine in the morning. The engines used over a gallon a day. That was the 60s and there were a lot of haulage firms in competition with each other. All I can say is that it was a job when jobs were hard to get.

Nice car very nice car. I had one the same but was a light grey color and had 13" wheels, bad for those big buses, I ended up putting 14" wheels on off a 6/110 Wolseley. Have you a A90 or 105 for sale?

My Father had one of these, an automatic in green and white while I had a gray overdrive 1959 estate. The back bearer was prone to failing and mine had aready done before it was given to me. It was repaired with two peices of Dexion (SP) fixed to each sill and a scaffolding pole accross holding the back of the gearbox in position. It worked well though and lasted for three European trips to France, Spain and southern Spain and Portugal before a chunk came adrift from third in 1972 and that was that.
