I just bought some Philips Ultinon Access LED car headlight bulb (HB3/HB4) and you can't fit them because the centre ring rotates around the lamp there is no way to lock it into position. The result is that you cannot rotate the ring to fit it into the car's lamp holder. Normally with halogen you push the lamp in firmly and rotate and the centre ring rotates and secures the lamp. Unfortunately with these Philips lamps the when you try to rotate the centre ring the led part in the middle rotates instead. It is a very bad design.

Yes they are. I installed them yesterday and I'm very happy with the results. They're far better than all other philips models and actually this is the only model type that gives you straight line light beam like halogen light bulbs. It's made to be a straight forward replacement.

The Philips Xtreme Vision PLUS 130% spec says beam of up to 130 meters where as these say beam of up to 70 meters. Is there really that much of a noticeable beam distance difference between them?

yes the beam distance is kind of noticable (but not 40 meeters diffrence) if you are using these bulbs for high beam,on low beam there isnt any diffrence on the distance it inluminated but rather the light it puts until the cutoff line

awesome pair of H4s. The brightest and whitest till date. Good job for doing a detailed review at nights and on highways. I just placed an order for a pair of these RacingVisions for my 2014 VW Vento basing on your reviews. Thanks pal. BTW, how many years do they last? Read a lot of complaints about its short life time. True?

Hi Daniel, currently with Halogen bulbs its a fine line between whiteness and brightness. Too much white and the brightness decreases, too much brightness and the whiteness decreases. These bulbs are a good mix of both. If you want whiteness and brightness then the Philips LED bulbs are the way forward.

  • @danielbrown5888

@@PowerBulbs yes I totally agree with what you're saying I have done a lot of comparisons about bulbs and maybe I would have to have a look at getting these Philips LEDs as well as I want to to do a comparison on projector headlights and reflector headlights as majority of cars have got reflector headlights and we all know that LEDs don't reflect well well in them houses so they go with the H7 bulbs there's got to be a way and a technology out there that will give you a nice white look as well as good brightness in a bulb I'm surprised in 2020 they still haven't come to this next technology of yet

@@danielbrown5888 the problem is not tech ... the problem is the law ... they limit the brightness by law to not impede the other road users ... if you want you can mount a 100w led projector on your car that will brighten half a km distance but it will be hardly legal ... h7 is just the format

This model turns on by detecting alternator charging. It’s not the best way of turning on DRL. If the unit can’t detect charging or the voltage is weak they can turn on and off as it fluctuates. The Daylight 9 model has an updated control box that turns the lights on with a dedicated accessory wire and eliminates the problem.

UK Parking lights are one half of the sidelights, controlled by using the turn signal stalk on german cars (other countries have them too). Either can be used by parked cars. Sidelights are also the minimum that you can use on street lit roads where the speed is generally 30 MPH. Full/main beam is for unlit roads like in the countryside.
