Very nice, informative video. Thank you.
It got so bad that on my way back to my tent from the TOC because I could not see it I tripped on one of the support lines to our 30 foot antenna and it came down on my arm. I was lucky one of the spikes did not go threw me because they did not have the ball on them for protection.
Such an important event and can't do any better that this audio. Shameful.
We're sorry that you had trouble hearing the audio. Our Museum is a small non-profit that does not have state of the art audio equipment. That, in addition to the live audience which added some background noise, made it so we were unable to capture the presentation as clearly as we would have liked. If you are interested in seeing the actual RV Petrel USS Juneau discovery footage, that is available on KZread via several other channels: kzread.info/dash/bejne/X4imstulqa24cso.html
Sound is terrible..i was born in 58 and saw black and white on these boys. So touched. Just wish it was real time.

One of my favorite Irish songs and I've been known to sing it myself. A chorus is always better.
I was there to I'll never forget that awful stench there's no way that did any of us any good
Wow, what a story! Someone found this and shared it with me, and I'm so glad they did. Thank you, David Greene for telling your story.

Born and raised in Waterloo, and visited the Grout Museum many times as a youngster in the 70’s. Sure wish I could hear this better.

It was Zook that met with my mother and granmother and first learned what had actually happened to William Flint, brother, son and my uncle. The US govt wanted to keep things quiet but Zook went to the Boston newspaper and told them the story. Christmas presents were being returned with no explanation. But they knew why . For some time the sailors were only listed as missing.
First thought: Ewwww! Then: What fascinating creatures! 🙂
