  I'm white. I'm getting boho knotless braids for the first time tomorrow. I'm honestly so nervous because I don't want anyone thinking I'm being disrespectful or appropriating culture. I have alopecia areata and it's terrible. I learned from a black dermatologist, as well as dozens of my black and mixed friends that if I get them crocheted in, it will give my scalp a chance to breathe. I've worn extensions everyday since I was 17 and I have bald spots from wearing them daily. I'm not appropriating, I'm appreciating and learning. I'm going on vacation on Monday and I'll be on a boat throughout the week and I don't want my hair ripping out even more. I wore extensions on a cruise in March and the breeze was ripping strands out nonstop. The last thing I ever want to be is disrespectful towards anyone over culture, race, or color. So I'm hoping that people understand where I'm coming from.

  Please don't crucify me for this question but I'm a white girl with curly/wavy hair. I have to shop in the ethnic hair care section (I wish they wouldn't call it that and just add everyone's together. It's like segregation all over again. We are all the same. But I digress). If I were to get crocheted hair done how would I care for it...wash it...style it? Would I be able to put gel in it? Could I do wavy or curly hair? Could I use heat products? Where would I go and how much would something like that cost? I love it and it looks so beautiful. For those negative nancys out there...I actually searched for a video like this to ask this question on

  You would just have to crochet/feed you real hair in through the braids! So it’s possible for longer hair🥰
