Yes the color of the kislux is beautiful and it is a great decision, maybe one day they will add feet and straps. It would be nice to have a bigger bag during the colder months when we have to store gloves, beanies, scarves, etc…

How do you tie in the IEP goals to this curriculum. I am thinking of making a goal about reading CVC words but I don;t see that skill specifically addressed in ULS, unless I have missed it. Do you have an additional reading curriculum?

@@user123-ABC-AAA so of the three doing ULS this year, two will also use sounds partners and reading mastery, but absolutely near the beginning levels. The other has iep goals that are closely related to errorless learning and hand over hand support/ sustaining attention to a task. There is a cvc portion, i have a little mini binder I keep the cvc words in to flip through, and most of the rhyming words are cvc. I might be in the classroom Thursday so send me a message on Instagram Thursday and I’ll show you?

I have taught ULS for 2 solid years and really struggled to keep all the materials organized, especially since I had 7 students spanning all three levels in both reading and math. I also did not use many parts. Now I will have up to 15 students. I just love the way you narrate in your videos,

I have a question. I really respect that you follow the curriculum in earnest. I was always concerned that the N2Y news article were too abstract for my students so I did not use it and chose Weekly Reader or Action magazine instead. What ages are your students?

Putting the materials up on the bulletin board is awesome because you can see the whole picture. I have never done that because I always had one kiddo who would get mad and tear everything off the wall or board. How do you deal with that?

@@user123-ABC-AAA it’s been a couple of years since I had a kid like that, would just tear rip and eat it when he was upset. Lots of laminating and just using velcro to attach it. Or you can paint the bulletin board a solid color so you don’t have to worry about a background (all the main hallway boards are like that!) but I have totally gone months with nothingness on the board too, and that’s ok! Also it’s pretty high up, the shelves underneath are a three cube so probably taller than my average kiddo? And they can’t climb them because the fabric is there.

For file folder storage we keep them in a 12x12 scrapbook case (separated by theme or level) in the cabinet. When we have them out for students to work on them, we put them in an A4 Mesh Zipper pouch from Amazon

It is looking so cute! I think that is a great idea to move the small group items down so you can see more of the window. I also think using the blue bins to organize your folders is a good idea. The book case being painted white looks so fresh and clean!

I’m just so torn on saving everything I print and laminate. I don’t have the room and our district is always changing curriculum. We had ULS 2 years ago then we had TeachTown last year and now this year we have NOTHING. My principal is looking into buying the ULS for my class, praying it happens. 🙏🏼

Sunscreen? Zinc oxide ONLY.. don't use avobenzone (sp?) & other chemicals are dangerous! I'm skincare expert .. trust it's more dangerous to wear chemicals. Also drink water with REAL SEASALT.. electrolytes! PLEASE read ingredients in everything you wear on your body and put in your mouth. Hats, long loose linen or cotton to cover skin if out all day or umbrellas! I☂️ HAVE FUN of course!
